Chapter – 277– Sri Ramacharitha Manas –
Bala Kanda– The joy of King Janaka
The deities, celestials, Apsaras and
Gandharvas, showered flowers on Rama, the sounds of divine instruments
reverberated in the sky, the righteous and wise people rejoiced at heart, the
wicked and unruly disappeared from the assembly. There were festivities began,
the auspicious sounds of music echoed all over the city, people exchanged
auspicious ingredients as a sign of upcoming wedding festivals, the stunning
Apsaras beautifully danced to the tune of music of Gandharvas, the melodious music
echoed resembled the sounds of Cuckoos. King Janaka’s joy was beyond
description as if the beggar found the most valuable treasure. The anxiousness
of Devi Sita vanished, felt extremely delighted at heart like the Chakora at
the sight of the autumn moon. King Janaka prostrated before Sage Vishwamithra and
spoke “Oh! Bhagavan, it was your auspicious grace on Rama that could bend the
unyielding Bhavachapa. I am extremely happy to watch the lovely brothers Rama
and Lakshman, Oh! Lord, kindly advise me what shall I do?” Maharishi
Vishwamithra spoke “Oh! Rajan, listen to me carefully, the marriage of Devi
Sita/Siya Swayamvara was taken on the condition of whoever bends the Bhavachapa
would achieve her as a wedded wife, thus Rama has successfully completed the task
and it was well known to the world, deities, celestials, demons, humans, and
Nagas.”
