Bala Kanda – The four princes sincerely following the stately duties and
religious rites
Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, the
people of Kosalapuri, women, men, children, and elderly people considered the
compassionate Rama dear as their life. He was closely connected with the people
of Ayodhya, considered them as his playmates, engage in various sports
activities, and go for hunting expeditions with the close-aids and brothers. He
would kill the animals only the ones are allowed to hunt were brought before
the King, the animals that were hunted by Rama attained liberation instantly. Rama partake meals with his brothers and close
associates, and made the mothers happy, he sincerely followed the orders of his
parents, he was the source of the delight of the entire Kingdom. Rama attentively
listens to Vedas and Puranas and describes the hidden treasures like the
meanings to his younger brothers. He sincerely followed the orders of his
parents, preceptors and strictly followed the rites, one of the first things in the morning was reverentially prostrate before parents and preceptors at the time
of day-break, and receive their orders and get occupied with the various activities
in the Kingdom, he dutifully assisted his father in stately matters and engaged
in various activities for the welfare of noble-souls, twice-born and subjects
of the Kingdom. King Dasharatha was immensely pleased watching the noble deeds
of his son Rama who was sincerely followed by his younger brothers.”
