let you overcome by emotions, or ignorance or delusion, kindly allow your
children to follow me to the dense wood, I shall take good care of them, and I
shall assure you that it will bring all kinds of auspiciousness to them and you
will achieve highly meritorious rewards for your righteousness.” The instructions
of the Sage Vishwamithra fallen as a loud thunder into the ears of the King, instantly
the happiness faded away from his face, felt the Earth is shaking, overcame by grief
and spoke in tears “Oh! Mune, I have been blessed with these four children at these
latter years of my age, Oh! Prabho, you were too inconsiderate to put forward
your command, you could have demanded of the wealth, richness, cows, the Kingdom, and the entire glory, I would have offered with immense pleasure, even ready to
give away my Prana which is dear to every creature. Oh! Prabho, all four
children are dearer to my life, I can’t live without Rama, I would prefer to
give away my life, Oh! Prabho, my children are too young to fight with the
fierce demons in the woods.” Sage Vishwamithra listened to the pleas of the
King, those were resembled the nectar-like love to his children, seeped into his ears.
Soon, Sage Vashishta intervened and instructed the King that the invitation to
join with the illustrious Maharishi Vishwamithra would provide his children an
abundance of meritorious rewards, and it would bring all the auspiciousness to
Rama and Lakshman, thus Sage Vashishta removed all the misapprehension of King
Dasaratha. Soon, the children were retired to their mother’s Chamber and
prostrated before them and returned to Maharishi Vishwamithra, and the King
repeatedly embraced the children, kissed on their forehead, and brought before
Sage Vishwamithra and spoke wise words “Oh! Mune, my sons are dear as my life,
kindly accept them as your children, and take good care of them, now onwards you
are the guardian of the children, and they will sincerely follow your
commands.”
