Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Sri Ramanama is the Kalimala Harini – The one and only way to get rid of the sufferings of Samsara and Samsarachakra

Chapter – 23 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Sri Ramanama is the Kalimala Harini – The one and only way to get rid of sufferings of Samsara and Samsarachakra

The Ramanama serves the purpose of Manideepa that spread the brilliance all around, and removes the darkness of ignorance in the Jeeva. It purifies the intellect, removes the impurities of lust, desire, ego, jealousy, pride, and anger, Ahamkara and Mamakara. The Yogis and Mahatmas get rid of interest in worldly matters of impermanent nature, Vishayavisha/toxic poison like interest in material matters and attachments, and constantly recite the Ramanama. These Yogis and Mahatmas are Viraktha, grown dispassionate with the practice of austerities, contemplation and meditation, remain in a supreme state of bliss always. They perceive the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Paramambhramam/Oneness-in-all, which is pure, unblemished, changeless, eternal, free from afflictions, and keep themselves free from grief and sorrows of Samsara. The Sadhaka/seeker of truth, follows the Santh, Mahatmas and sincerely undertake austerities, vows, Celibacy, Shama, Dhama, Sathyam, Dhaya, Dhanam, Shaucham, Astheyam, Ahimsa, Arjjavam, Swadhyaya, Athmavichara, meditation, and contemplation, etc. and achieve the fruitfulness of life. Gradually, they achieve the supernatural powers known an Ashtasidhdhi such as  1) Anima- to reduce the body to the size of an atom, 2 )Garima – expand the size of the body to a colossal size, 3) Laghuthvam – assume infinite lightness of the body, 4) Eshithvam – assume absolute Lordship, 5) Vashithvam – overpowering all, 6) Prapthi – unrestricted access in the Universe, 7) Prakamya – realization of other’s desire etc. The constant recitation of Ramanama remove the grief and sufferings of Samsara. There are four types of devotees of Lord,  1) Arththa/distressed, desolate, 2) Jijjnasu/curious, seeker of truth 3) Arththarththi/ yearn to achieve wealth, possession, richness, money, fame, family, and 4) Gnani/ enlightened one, knower of truth ‘Jeevathma is Paramathma’, knowledge of self, Prakrithi is destructible and the soul is indestructible Purusha and these four kinds of devotees are equally noble, virtuous, and sinless dear to Lord. The enlightened one chooses to engage in the constant recitation of Tharaka Manthra/Ramanama, takes shelter in the Ramanama, and they are the most beloved of the Lord. The Sri Ramanama Mahima was widely spoken in the Vedas and scriptures that could provide commendable rewards in all four Yugas of Krita Yuga, Thretha Yuga, Dwapara Yuga and Kali Yuga and especially in the Kali era which is lack of purity of mind, deeds, words. Hence, the Sri Ramanama is the one and only way to get rid of the sufferings and grief of Samsara and Samsara Chakra.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – The significance of Nama/name and Nami/appearance/form

Chapter – 22 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The significance of Nama/name and Nami/appearance/form

The sacred name ‘Ra Ma’ of Lord of the clan of Raghu, Raghubara serves the purpose of Umbrella on the gem-studded crown adorned, the sacred syllables ‘Ra and Ma’ serves the purpose of Master and servant to one another. The Nama/name and the Nami/ appearance are two attributes that are inseparable, hence it is meaningless to rationalize them as superior and inferior. The intellectuals say the appearance cannot exists without the name; hence appearance/form and name are equally significant, but the greatest advantage is that the mere remembrance of the name would help to perceive the form easily. Nama/name and the Nami/appearance are inseparable like Master and servant, the Nama is an Upadhi/tool to get connected to the Saguna Bhramaswaroopa Sacchidhanandha Paramathma Parambhramam, therefore the Santh Mahathma says it would be sinful to attempt to discriminate the Nama/name and Nami/appearance. Any marvelous form is recognized with its name, otherwise, it would remain unimportant and unknown to the world, hence the forms get their appreciation by their names.

The evilness of Kali era has taken away all the auspiciousness, belief in scriptures and Veda, Agamashasthra, Jeevas are drenched in Ahamkara and Mamakara, reluctant to follow the Dharma, Sathyam, Dhaya, Shaucham, Astheyam, Bhramacharya, Ahimsa, Shama Dhama, austerities, Swadhyaya, Athmavichara, etc. to get rid of grief and sufferings of Samsara, Vishayijeevas have the appearance of Swan follows the lifestyle of crow, Jeevas are forced to commit various sins and driven afar from the Vedic way of living ultimately has become the embodiment of sins and falsehood, Vishayi Jeeva claims themselves as the devotees of Rama are  not freed from jealousy, anger, lust, desire, ego, pride, Ahamkara and Mamakara. I do not take pride in the composition of Sri Ramacharitha which is written out of pure love and devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra, I am not a poet or a scholar, I have no knowledge of poetic skills, grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, construction of words, etc. All I have written the glories of Lord Sri Ramachandra/Raghupathi Charithra, according to the capacity of my intellect, that could remove the impurities of mind, Ahamkara, Mamakara, interest in worldly matters of destructible nature, attachment to material matters and people that have impermanent nature causes constant grief and sufferings,  it destroys the sufferings and grief of Samsara and Samsarachakra. I am not intelligent or skilled, hence feel shy to write the vast ocean like the glories of Lord Sri Ramachandra, still I am taking a humble initiative to describe them, like the cotton balls get blown out the shoot with the help of the wind.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Sri Ramacharitha removes the evil effects of the Kali era and the sufferings and grief of worldly existence

Chapter – 12 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Sri Ramacharitha removes the evil effects of the Kali era and the sufferings and grief of worldly existence

The Tulsikatha Sri Ramacharitha is a marvelous legend of Lord Sri Ramachandra resembles the water current of sacred Ganga, with its beautiful twist and turns, would destroy the evil effects of the Kali era, and provides all the auspicious to the worshiper. Whoever listens or read would achieve the serenity of mind, and get rid of redundant thoughts, impurities of jealousy, anger, pride, lust, and desire, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, interest in the worldly matter, same as the remembrance of Bhava smeared in sacred ashes purify the intellect of the Jeeva. I am certain that whoever listens or recite the Ramacharitha would achieve an abundance of propitiousness, like the grasses grown closer to the sandalwood in Mount Malaya achieves the rich fragrance of the Sandalwood. The milk obtained from the black colored cow is equally nutritious and rich as the cows of different colors, hence the pious and noble-souls will take great pleasure in my composition of Ramacharitha that describe the splendor and virtues of Lord Rama and Devi Sita, though it lacks poetic skills, charm, and grammar.

The precious gem would capture the attention of all when it is attached to the crown or ornaments, the truth is as long as the ruby on the forehead of the serpent, pearl on the forehead of elephant, or gems hidden in the mountain would remain unnoticed. The beauty of these precious gems get noticed and admired only when it is adorned by the King or attractive woman in their crown and ornaments respectively, otherwise it won’t serve the purpose at all. It is the same as the beautiful poem taken birth in the mind of a person with the grace of Goddess Saraswathi who hurries from the abode of Lord Bhrama initiates the poet to pour out his idea, get noticed and admired when it’s brought out in the open. The intellectuals and scholars thoroughly aware that the fatigue of several births in the Samsara/Samsara Thapa would disappear immediately after a dip in the glorious Ramacharitha, hence the wise ones take shelter in the glorious myths of Lord Hari and get rid of sufferings and sorrows of Samsara, impurities of Kali era, such as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya. Goddess Saraswathi who is the Goddess of speech would repent and get ashamed listening to the Vishayijeeva singing in praise of the worldly matters and infinite Nama Roopa Dhrishya of Samsara. The heart of wise and intellectuals Mahathmas are propitious as a vast ocean, and their poetic skills resemble shells that hold precious pearls and Goddess Saraswathi resemble the star Swathi which is the source of pearl, the flow of marvelous ideas like the rain would benefit the construction of stunning garland like poetry.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – The devoutness of Sri Ramacharithra to protect the Jeeva from the grief of Samsara/worldly existence and Samsara Chakra/repeated births

Chapter – 11– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The devoutness of Sri Ramacharithra to protect the Jeeva from the grief of Samsara and Samsara Chakra

The Sri Ramacharithra composed out of pure love and devotion may lack the qualities of excellent poetry and charm, but it has an abundance of meritorious rewards which the whole world has known about it. I am certain that people of unbiased nature would listen to it. The Ramacharithra describes the various sacred names of Lord Raghu which is the essence of Veda and scriptures. The sacred name ‘Rama’ is Tharakamanthra constantly recited by Lord Mahadeva who is the beloved consort of Goddess Uma, the destroyer of the demons of Tripura.  Sri Ramanama is highly propitious, removes the impurities of mind such as Ahamkara and Mamakara, sufferings, and grief of Samsara, and protects the Jeeva from the repeated cycles of Samsara as well. I believe any poetry or prose that has possessed beauty and excellence in multitude, but no word mentioned about Lord Sri Ramachandra would be the same as an attractive young female adorned in loads of ornaments, but no clothes on her body. The noble-souls are like the honey bees who take great pleasure at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra would relish the Ramacharithra even though it lacks poetic skills, and charm written by an ordinary poet and who have failed to achieve devoutness being in the association of Santh, Mahatmas? These ascetics are like the rich fragrant wood that emits an alluring aroma while burning. Although my composition is unappealing, lacks poetic skills, but it has the fresh alluring rich fragrant aroma of the legend of Lord Sri Ramachandra, that could alleviate the grief and sufferings of worldly existence, provide all kinds of auspiciousness, and protects the Jeeva from hurling from the unfathomable ocean of Samsara.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Sri Ramacharitha illustrates the virtues and splendor of Lord Sri Ramachandra was composed out of pure love and devotion

Chapter – 10 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda –Sri Ramacharitha illustrates the virtues and splendor of Lord Sri Ramachandra, was composed out of pure love and devotion

My desires are high, but I have very little knowledge to put into work, I have a feeble mind, even though I have made an attempt to describe the glories of Sri Ramachandra, I hope the Sri Ramacharitha describes the splendor and virtues of Lord Sri Ramachandra would please the noble-souls, Santh and Mahatmas, and it would definitely cause a ridicule smile on the face of wicked people. The Jeeva who have no interest in poetry or devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra would laugh at the composition of mine, as the crow gets jealous of the melodious sound of cuckoos, the cranes mock at the Swan for their elegant style of walking, the frog take pleasure in mocking the Chakora yearn to consume droplets from Swathinakshathra, and no doubt the people who lack poetic skills and ignorant would definitely pass disparaging comments on it. I am quite certain that the Jeeva who have no faith and devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra won’t take pleasure in it, or this composition sounds soothing to their ears. The pious who have immense faith and devotion at the lotus feet of Hari and Hara,  do not take pleasure in material matters of destructible Prakrithi, got rid of interest in worldly matters, free from impurities of jealousy, anger, pride, lust, desire, would take immense pleasure in the legend of Lord Sri Ramachandra who is eminent among the Raghu clan. I am not a poet, or intellectual or I have no knowledge or skills in arts and science, I don’t know grammar, vocabulary, construction of words etc. hence I am certain that there would be several critical errors in this composition was written out of pure love and devotion, unlike the excellent work of illustrious writers, poets, scholars, and intellectuals.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – The universe and it's living and non-living things represent the supreme Lord/Sarvam Khalvitham Bhrama – The noble-souls/Sadhu Santh Mahathma resembles unfathomable ocean of wisdom and virtues

Chapter – 9 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The Universe and it's living and non-living things represent the supreme Lord/Sarvam Khalvitham Bhrama – The noble-souls/Sadhu Santh Mahathma resembles an unfathomable ocean of wisdom and virtues

I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra who is the essence of the Universe and its living and non-living things. I shall bow down before the all-pervasive Supreme Lord who represents Vidhya/wisdom and Avidhya/ignorance, Guna/virtues and Dhosha/sins, Kala/Time, Karma/deeds, cause, and effect, good and evil, etc. I shall prostrate before the supreme Lord who is the essence of Lord of Day/Surya who nourishes the life on the Earth, and Lord of night/Moon who put off the creatures in rest with its cool rays.  The intellectuals are thoroughly aware of the fact that the evil association would destroy the purity of the mind, hence they keep afar from the interest in worldly matters and attachment to people, same as the planets, medicines, water, air, and garments would portrait its nature of good or bad from its association. I shall prostrate before the Deva, Dhanava,  Manushya, Kinnara, Naga, Gandharva, Khaga, Pithru, Pretha, Rajanichara, and earnestly pray to be gracious upon us on all the occasions.

I shall prostrate before the Eight million and four hundred thousand creatures on the planet Earth, divided as aquatic animals, animals on the land and air are the creation of the Supreme Lord Seetha Rama, kindly recognize me as your servant and shower Your grace upon me. I have no intellectual power to describe the all-pervasive Bhramam incarnated as Lord Sri Ramachandra on the Earth, to alleviate the sufferings and sorrows of the Jeeva, destroy the wicked and arrogant demons caused a burden to Earth, and provide bliss to the noble souls. I am a dull-minded Jeeva taken a huge step to the describe the virtues and splendor of Lord of Raghu, Lord Sri Ramachandra, resemble the unfathomable ocean, my aspirations are out of reach like yearning to achieve nectar with no means, not even to procure buttermilk. I am certain that the noble and virtuous would listen to my childish talk praising the virtues of Lord Sri Ramachandra with great interest and love, and forgive my mistakes, they would consider it as the prattle of their child, and the mischievous people who enjoy finding fault in others would get amused. This world is an abundance of Jeeva drenched in Ahamkara and Mamakara, like the rivers and streams swell upon the arrival of rain waters and sudden flood takes away several lives mercilessly.  At the same time, there is no scarcity of the noble-souls resemble the mighty ocean that graciously embrace the waters from all the water bodies, and swells only at the sight of the moon.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – The influence of Kala/Time, Karama/deeds, Guna/virtues, and Swabhava/attributes cause grief and sufferings

Chapter – 8– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The influence of Kala/Time, Karama/deeds, Guna/virtues, and Swabhava/attributes cause grief and sufferings

The Universe is the place of good and evil, living and non-living things. The Santh Mahathmas/noble- souls abandon the impurities, Ahamkara, Mamakara, interest in worldly matters are compared to Hamsa/Swan, that has the tremendous skill to separate the milk from the water, hence these Mahatmas always live in supreme bliss. The Kala/Time, Guna/virtues, Karma/deeds, Swabhava/attributes necessitate the Jeeva to get shackled in Maya/illusion and ignorance, even the goodness in the Jeeva gets tarnished by the above-mentioned elements. The Jeeva who have taken shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Hari, get rid of the impurities of anger, ego, lust, desire, pride, and jealousy, Ahamkara, Mamakara, interest in worldly matters get relieved from the sufferings and grief of Samsara. The Jeeva drenched in the material matters/Prakrithi gets inspired to perform righteous deeds due to the association with the noble and saintly men, take pride in it, and remain deceitful as always, and they will have the fate of the demon Kalanemi appeared as an ascetic before Hanuman at the command of Ravana, while Hanuman was in search for the medicinal herb to restore the life of Lakshman in the battlefield.  Kalanemi purposefully played a trick on Hanuman to distract him and create obstacles to his task. The mere appearance as an ascetic of Kalanemi caught the entire attraction of Hanuman, ultimately met miserable death in the hands of Hanuman. The demon Ravana who was disguised as an ascetic appeared before Devi Sita met a terrible death in the hands of Rama on the battlefield and the demon Rahu who disguised as a deity while serving the nectar of immortality got his head severed by Lord Vishnu, all these demons presented as noble with their uncanny appearance, met disastrous end. The virtuous were the Jambavan who was a mighty bear in the army of Sugriva, famous for his bravery and Hanuman/Kapeeshwara who is the Lord of Vanaras were highly honored and praised for their generosity and fearlessness. Therefore, the Veda and scriptures emphasize the association of the Sadhu Santh, Mahathma who have abandoned the Samsara, interest in worldly matters, Ahamkara, Mamakara, and impurities of the mind as a Trina/grass, would inspire the Jeeva to perform austerities, vow, and strictly follow truthfulness, kindness, compassion, humanity, celibacy, non-violence, hygiene/mental as well as physical etc. The Jeeva who have achieved the purity of mind won’t get malignant even if they get stuck in the middle of the wicked, and they would remain unblemished, like the dust particle raised on the atmosphere can’t taint the sky. The parrot nurtured in the houses of virtuous would mimic the sacred name of Lord Rama and the unfortunate ones are taken care by the wicked keep mimic abuses.  The fire burns all those in contact with it, turn to coal that can be utilized as an ink to write scriptures and sacred texts. The essential elements such as water, air, and fire immensely contribute to flourishing life on the Earth.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – The Universe is the place of ‘good and evil’ – The Veda and scriptures emphasize the necessity to follow righteousness/Dharma

Chapter – 7 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The Universe is the place of ‘good and evil’ – The Veda and scriptures emphasize the necessity to follow righteousness/Dharma

The scriptures brilliantly describe the process of churning the milky ocean for the nectar of immortality collectively by the Devas and Dhanavas, during this process, the first thing that came out in the open was toxic poison, that was gracefully accepted by Lord Mahadeva, thus restored peace in the world, further, the process of churning continued, and many precious things like Airavatha, Ucchaishravas, Lord Chandra, Goddess Mahalakshmi and precious gems, Kalpavruksha, Varuni, and finally, the nectar of immortality emerged out of the ocean. Hence, the Universe is the place of ‘good and evil’, the piousness brings the serenity of mind and the evilness disrupt the peace and happiness. The scriptures and Vedas emphasize whoever follow the righteousness, truthfulness, kindness, compassion, non-violence, perfect control over sense, austerities, knowledge of self, would inherit supreme bliss and serenity of mind, perceive the omnipresent Bramham/Oneness-in-all and the Jeeva drenched in Ahamkara, Mamakara, lust, anger, ego, jealousy, and pride would undergo constant grief and sufferings meets miserable death ultimately heaves to the vicious cycles of rebirth. The Universe is the reservoir of ‘goodness and evilness’ are pair of opposite like happiness and sorrow, respect and disrespect,  pleasure and pain, devoutness and sin, day and night, birth and death, supreme Bhramam/eternal truth/Paramathma Parambhramam and  illusion/Maya, indestructible Purusha and destructible Prapancha/Prakrithi, richness and poverty, King and pauper, the sacred land of Kashi, and the cursed land Magadha, the sacred Ganga which is the purifier of souls and the river Karmanasha that takes away all the devoutness of the Jeeva, the deserted land of Maravara and flourished land of Malava, the twice-born/Bhramin considered as Bhudevatha/Lord on Earth and tribes who feed on animal, heaven and hell,  attachment and dispassion.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – The disparities between the ascetic and the Jeeva drenched in Ahamkara and Mamakara

Chapter – 6 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The disparities between the ascetic and the Jeeva drenched in Ahamkara and Mamakara

I shall offer salutation to the ascetics who are the purifier of the Earth,  free from impurities of Ahamkara and Mamakara lacks interest in worldly matters of fleeting nature/destructible Prapancha, grown out of pain-causing dualities of happiness and sorrow, grief and pain, respect, and disrespect, and perceive the omnipresent Bhramam/indestructible Purusha resides as a soul in the Jeeva/Oneness-in-all. I shall offer salutation to the Vishayijeeva drenched in the worldly matters, Ahamkara and Mamakara, engage in immoral deeds, finds pleasure in causing grief to others, wicked burn with jealousy in the welfare and happiness of others, no matter whether they are companions or enemies. I shall offer salutation to the ascetic who is free from the impurities of Ahamkara and Mamakara, causes pain while leaving this world and the wicked who finds pleasure in the ill-fortune of others, causes pain while living on the Earth. The huge difference is that the ascetics resemble a lotus flower, and the wicked represent leech that causes to bleed, even though both are born of attributes and previous Karma in the unfathomable ocean of Samsara. The two categories of Jeeva yield the merits of their actions in a different manner, the ascetics are grown out of differences and dualities, achieves permanent bliss with the extreme penances and austerities, vows, Swadhyaya, Athmavichara and Shamadhamadhi symbolizes the cool rays of the full moon, is the purifier of the Earth/movable King of river Prayaga, represents the river Ganga. The Jeeva drenched in Ahamkara and Mamakara, spew venom, resemble the inauspicious river Karmanasha that takes away all the righteousness in the Kali era.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – The salutation to Santh Mahathma and the Vishayi Jeeva who is drenched in Ahamkara and Mamakara

Chapter – 5 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The salutation to Santh Mahathma and the Vishayi Jeeva who is drenched in Ahamkara and Mamakara

I shall prostrate before the ascetics who have no friend or enemy, favorable or unfavorable, happiness or sorrow, respect or disrespect, joy or grief, are grown far beyond the dualities of Samsara, they are impartial like the fragrance of the Jasmine flowers kept on the palm, they are free from the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha and Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, Mamakara, interest in worldly matters, hence I shall repeatedly bow down before the lotus feet of the ascetics and sincerely request like a child to shower their compassionate grace upon me to achieve  the selfless devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra.

I shall offer salutation to the Vishayijeeva/drenched in the material matters, Ahamkara and Mamakara, hostile to the innocents, finds pleasure in others trouble and ill-fortune, desolation, and get jealous of others welfare. The wicked and ignorant who spread misbelief in Veda, Scriptures, deities, trinities, etc. like the Rahu and Kethu causes an eclipse of Sun and Moon respectively. These ignorant are like the demon Sahasrabhahu who is haughty of his might achieved as a boon after several thousand years of penance, these wicked people enjoy causing miseries and grief to others with all might, their anger resembles fire, and fearless to  challenge Lord Yama, these people are like Kumbhakarna who enjoys long years of sleep and the comet which causes harm other than nothing, hence their destruction is propitious to the world. These wicked and arrogant Jeeva harm others in all possible ways, like the snow in the paddy field gets dissolved by destroying the crop. I shall offer salutation to those wicked Jeeva who is fierce as the thousand tongued serpents Adishesha, sadly, they utilize their vicious tongue to find fault in others. I shall prostrate before King Prithu who desired to have thousands of ears to listen to the glories of the Supreme Lord, sadly the wicked Jeeva enjoys listening to the ill fame and rumors as if they have possessed thousands of ears. I shall offer salutation to the wicked find fault in others as if they have possessed thousands of eyes like Lord Indhra who is the Lord of deities, has possessed thousands of eyes, and Vajrayudha as a weapon, sadly the wicked Jeeva uses thousands of eyes to find fault in others.
