Chapter
– 3 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Chaupai - 1– The preceptor is none
other than Lord Hari who removes the ignorance and illusion of Samsara
I shall prostrate before Goddess
Vani/Goddess of speech, grammar, vocabulary, Chandhass, poetic skills, and Lord
Vinayaka is the remover of obstacles.
I shall prostrate before Goddess Bhavani and Lord Shankara, who
symbolizes the dedication and pure devotion/Shraddha Bhakti respectively, without
which it is impossible to perceive the supreme Bhramam resides as a soul in the
Jeeva/Oneness-in-all. I shall prostrate before the supreme Preceptor who is
none other than Lord Shankara, who is adorned in the crescent moon on the reddish-brown
matted hair locks, impart the knowledge of Paramarththa Thaththva/ Prakrithi
is destructible, and the Athman is indestructible Purusha/Paramathma. I shall
prostrate before the Kapeeshwara Lord Hanuman and Kavishwara /Maharishi
Valmiki, who takes immense pleasure in singing the praise of Lord Seetha Rama, and
resides in the dense wood of devotion to Lord Seetha Rama. I shall prostrate before Goddess Sitha who
is the beloved consort of Lord Rama, she is creator, preserver, and destroyer of
the Universe and its living beings, she is the destroyer of sufferings of
Samsara, and provider of an abundance of auspicious to her worshiper. I shall prostrate
before supreme Lord Hari who has incarnated as Lord Sri Ramachandra, he is the
Lord of Mayapathi, worshiped by Lord Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, deities, demons and
Munigana. Whoever worships Lord Sri Seetharama would get rid of the illusion/ignorance
of ‘rope mistaken as serpent causes trepidation’, Maya of the Samsara/Jagath
Mithya Bhrama Sathyam. ‘Sri Ramacharitha Manas’ was composed by Sri Tulsidas
Maharaj eulogizes the splendor of Lord Raghunath, is the essence of Shastra,
Nigama Agama, Purana.
Chaupai – 1
I shall prostrate before supreme Lord
Ganesha who is the leader of Ganas of Lord Shiva, he is the source of success
in endeavors and remover of the evilness of Kali era, he has an attractive face
resembles an elephant, is the essence of wisdom and virtues, I shall sincerely
pray to Lord Ganesha to shower compassionate grace upon us. He is the Lord of
distressed Jeeva whose grace is sufficient to transform the Jeeva who have no
speaking ability to achieve excellence in speech, and the physically
challenged climb up the mountain easily. I shall contemplate upon the supreme
Lord Hari who reclines on the Anantha in the Ksheerasagara, he has marvelous
dark cloud complexioned limbs, his beautiful eyes have the resemblance to red
lotus flower petals. I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Mahadeva along with
Goddess Sri Parvathi who is the abode of compassion and mercy, he has the complexion of camphor, jasmine flowers, and the luster of the moon, kindly shower compassionate
grace on us. I shall prostrate before the lotus feet of the preceptor who is an ocean
of mercy, none other than Supreme Lord Hari enlightens the Jeeva with the knowledge
of Paramarththa Thaththva, and thereby removes the ignorance and illusion, like
the radiance of the sun removes the darkness.
I shall offer humble salutation at the
lotus feet of the preceptor, who is the ocean of mercy, effulgent, kind, and
compassionate to Jeeva. He resembles the reservoir of the life-giving herb,
destroys the interest in the worldly matters and Prapancha of impermanent
nature, with the knowledge of destructible Prakrithi and indestructible
Purusha/Paramathma, to the Jeeva who have taken shelter at his lotus feet. The fortunate
ones are whose body is smeared in the sacred ashes, resembles Lord Shiva, and
remain in supreme bliss, and the auspicious mark on the forehead attracts the
host of virtues. The grace of the preceptor removes the dirt/impurities of the
mind, like the mirror, gets cleansed with a magical touch. The sparkling feet'
nails resemble gem, of the preceptor would remove the darkness of ignorance,
impurities and enhances the wisdom/oneness-in all, in the Jeeva who have taken
shelter at his lotus feet. The luster from the feet of the preceptor would remove the
ignorance and impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya,
attachment to material matters, and infinite Nama Roopa Dhrishya, in the
Mithyaroopi Samsara. The Jeeva who have
taken shelter at the lotus feet of the preceptor is highly fortunate, get rid of sufferings and
grief of worldly existence, and the hidden gem like the glorious legends of Lord
Sri Ramachandra would come into the light.
