Chapter - 63– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Garuda arrives on the beautiful mountain peak Neelashaila was received with great respect by Sage Kakabhusundi

The King of birds /Garuda who is wise and an ardent devotee of Thribhuvanapathi, the celestial vehicle of Lord Sri Hari was under the clutches of Maya, if so, it is pathetic to talk about the ordinary Jeeva drenched in worldly matters. The powerful Maya of Lord Sri Hari did not spare even Lord Bhrama or Lord Shiva, what to talk about the poor creatures like humans? Keeping in mind the powerful Maya of Mayapathi, the Sages and deities adore the Maya of the Lord.

Garuda arrived in the blue mountain/Neelashaila where the illustrious Sage Kakabusundi who is an ardent devotee of Lord Sri Hari settled, surprisingly, the mere sight of the beautiful blue mountain removed all the delusion from the heart of Garuda, he rejoiced at heart, all his grief and pain disappeared. Garuda took a bath in the lake and drank the nectar-like water at his heart's content, later he took a seat under the shade of the Banyan tree, his heart was full of joy. Soon, flocks of different species of birds assembled on the site, and the Sage Kakabhusundi was about to begin the exploits of Lord Sri Ramachandra to his aged listeners.  At that moment, King of birds arrived on the spot, Sage Kakabhusundi was delighted to see Garuda among his listeners, Sage received Garuda reverentially, enquired his welfare, and offered a respected seat, after worshiping King of birds, the Sage Kakabusundi/crow began to sing the exploits of Lord Rama beautifully.

Chapter - 62– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Lord Shambhu highly praises the virtues and wisdom of Sage Kakabusundi who has assumed the form of crow to worship Lord Sri Ramachandra

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Bhavani, without the association of Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls, it is difficult to get the fortune of listening to the endless glories of Lord Sri Hari, and one cannot achieve the lotus feet of Lord Hari without listening to the glorious myths of the supreme Lord. It would remove the illusion and ignorance, it would enlighten the soul with the supreme knowledge of self/Jeevathma is Paramathma, and all the material and immaterial things/Prakrithi are destructible nature, and the Paramathma/soul is indestructible Purusha. The association with the Santh, Mahathma, noble souls would provide the supreme wisdom, that would eradicate the illusion, attachment to worldly matters, and it would enhance the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra. The supreme Lord Raghu is not achievable by mere Japa, Thapa, Yoga, austerities, wisdom, dispassion and penances, etc. that Lord is readily achievable by pure love and devotion at his lotus feet.” Lord Mahadeva speaks to Garuda “Oh! Dear friend, there is a beautiful blue mountain/Neelashaila far from the northern side, where an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, named Sage Kakabhusundi/crow lives on the marvelous mountain peak, he is highly knowledgeable in the path of devotion to Lord Sri Ramachandra, he is an enlightened soul, amiable natured, he is wisdom and virtues personified. He continuously recites the glories of Lord Sri Hari, and he has several species of birds as listeners, hence you should visit Sage Kakabhusundi, listen to his lectures, you will get rid of grief caused by the illusion.” Garuda reverentially prostrated before Lord Shambhu and darted to the hills of Nilagiris in extreme joy. Lord Mahadeva speaks to Goddess Bhavani “Oh! Devi, I did not stop Garuda in Mount Kailash, I have understood that he is under the clutches of Maya of Mayapathi, and Garuda must have carried this pride so long and the compassionate Lord Rama wants to cure it permanently, and another reason for sending him to Neelashaila was the birds knows the language of birds better than humans. Oh! Uma, Oh! Bhavani, the Maya of Lord Mayapathi is formidable, which intellectual is free from the grip of it?”

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Bhavani, Bihangapathi/Garuda arrived in Kailash, at that moment I was on my way to the abode of Lord Kubera, and you were here in Mount Kailash. Garuda was in deep distress, he reverentially prostrated at my feet and explained his qualms, I felt sympathy towards him, so I spoke pleasantly “Oh! Garuda, you have met me on my way to the abode of Lord Kubera, hence how can I teach you about the splendor of Lord Sri Ramachandra? Oh! Khagapathi, your qualms are the most welcoming sign, it would keep you enjoying the association of Santh, Mahatmas, and noble souls, who sing in praise of the glories of Lord Sri Ramachandra in a diverse manner relentlessly, which you would enjoy heartily. They will sing the exploits of Lord Rama who is none other than the absolute Bhramam personified as the son of Kosala. Oh! Garuda, I shall send you to a marvelous site where you would get to listen to the endless glories of Lord Rama, the place where the matchless splendor of Lord Sri Hari is recited on a regular basis, and I am certain that all your qualms and delusion would get disappeared as soon as you get to listen to them, it would enhance your love and devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Rama as well.”

Chapter - 60– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Lord Bhrama advises Garuda/Khagapathi to take shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Shambhu

Maharishi Narada after advising Garuda, proceeded to Bhramaloka, praising the unconquerable Maya of Mayapathi Lord Sri Ramachandra. In the meantime, Khagapathi/Garuda went to Bhramaloka and explained his delusion to Lord Bhrama, upon this Chathurana overwhelmed with the love and devotion for Rama, bowed his head praising the unconquerable Maya of Lord Sri Ramachandra, the creator thought “The Maya of Mayapathi Lord Sri Ramachandra is unconquerable, even the enlightened Rishis and Sages and myself had been the victim of that Maya, the animate and inanimate things created in the Universe with the influence of Maya by the supreme Lord is indomitable, certainly the Khagapathi is under the influence of Maya of the Lord.” Lord Bhrama spoke compassionately “Oh! Son of Vinatha, Dear Garuda, the Lord Shambhu is the knower of all, he is a passionate devotee of Lord Rama, Oh! Dear child, meet Lord Shankara and get cleared all your qualms, he alone could remove your delusion.” Thus, Khagapathi darted to Lord Shambhu after listening to the advice of Lord Bhrama.

The King of bird, Garuda thought “The mere utterance of ‘Ra Ma’, the name of Lord Rama would make the Jeeva free from sufferings and grief of worldly existence, and repeated births but unfortunately Rama could not defeat the Nagapasha shot by the wicked demon on the battlefield.” Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi Uma, thus Garuda wrapped up in various thoughts and the light of wisdom did not help him to get rid of his illusion and misconception, he was fallen pry to full of anxiousness and fallacy, like the way you did before knowing the divinity of Lord Rama. Garuda approached Maharishi Narada and praised himself for devouring the Nagapasha that fastened Lord Rama on the battlefield. The compassionate Maharishi Narada after listening to Garuda began to speak pleasantly “Oh! Garuda, listen to me carefully, the Maya of Ramapathi is formidable, it won’t leave a single Jeeva, it steals the intellect of the wise and pushes them to utter delusion. The Maya of Mayapathi is like a cloud that takes away the wisdom, Oh! Khagapathi, Once, I was under the spell of Maya, I was got fooled myself with the influence of Maya. You are already under the spell of Maya, which is deep-rooted in your heart, hence my words cannot erase the misapprehension from your heart. Oh! Khagesa, kindly take shelter at the lotus feet of Chathuranana/Lord Bhrama, and seek his opinion to get rid of your illusion.”

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi Uma, I have assumed the form of a swan, and took a seat among the audience, listening to the lectures of Sage Kakabhusundi for a very long time, after that, I have returned to Mount Kailash. Oh! Devi Girija, I have explained all those exploits of Lord Rama that was I have heard from Sage Kakabhusundi, I shall explain the origin of the ‘Sri Ramacharitha Manas’, the beautiful lake like exploits of Lord Rama to you. During the vicious battle between Lord Rama and Meghnatha, the compassionate Lord allowed himself to be bound by the Nagapasha as an amusement that was shot against him, at that very moment Maharishi Narada informed Garuda to hurry to the battlefield to relieve Lord Rama from the clutches of Nagapasha. Garuda, the dedicated attendant of Lord Sri Hari, and the devourer of serpents rushed to the battlefield and swallowed all those serpents fastened Rama, and returned to his abode. But Garuda was deeply dejected to watch the Lord fastened by the Nagapasha and was unable to get out of it, Garuda absorbed in various thoughts “If Lord Rama is the absolute Bhramam personified as the son of Kosala, why he could not get rid of Nagapasha? If the all-pervasive Bhramam, free from Maya/delusion, has neither birth nor death, changeless, dispassionate, pure, and unblemished, why I did not witness the divinity in Lord Rama?”

Chapter - 57– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Lord Mahadeva describes the devotion of Sage Kakabhusundi

Lord Mahadeva speaks “The beautiful lake located on the pinnacle of the Neelashaila was packed with different colors of lotus flowers, the water was crystal clear and sweet like nectar, a flock of swans was beautifully moving on the water and the buzzing noise of bees was added attractiveness to the place. Oh! Devi, Sage Kakabusundi was settled in the Neelashaila, definitely, this peak would outlast even after the deluge. The Neelashaila is far beyond the reach of Maya/illusion, impurities of lust, anger, desire, ego, pride, jealousy, etc. even though the Universe was created by the influence of Maya. Oh! Devi, I shall describe the daily practices of Sage Kakabusundhi who has assumed the form of crow to worship Lord Sri Hari. He practices meditation under the Peepal tree, he performs Japa/recitation of prayers under the shade of Palasha tree, and the rest of the hours he gives lectures on the legend of Lord Sri Hari sitting under the shade of Banyan tree, and there would be a flock of birds as listeners. Oh! Devi, when I have arrived in the Neelashaila I found the Sage Kakabhusundi beautifully singing the marvelous exploits of Lord Rama, and there were several swans on the lake attentively listening to it, I was so thrilled watching the beautiful sight instantly got rid of grief and exhaustion, the devotion of the crow and the several species of birds was beyond description.”

Chapter - 56– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – The legend of Rama would remove the Bhavaroga/the sufferings of worldly existence and repeated births

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi, the King of birds Garuda had several doubts in his mind after watching the fierce battle between Rama and Meghanatha/Indhrajeeth, he went to Sage Kakabusundi put forward the same question, Oh! Uma, listen to me carefully, I shall explain to you the reason why Sage Kakabhusundi assumed the form of a crow and worshiped Lord Sri Ramachandra. Oh! Sumukhi, Oh! Sulochani, the legend of Rama would remove the Bhavaroga/the sufferings of worldly existence and repeated births. Oh! Devi, in your previous birth you have born as Sati/ Dhakshakanya/daughter of Dhakshaprajapathi, and you had a heated argument with your father and abandoned your body in the fire sacrifice/Dhakshayaga, eventually, my Ganas/comrades wrecked the Yaga and created a huge chaos in the palace of Dhaksha, you know everything clearly. Oh! Dear darling, your separation brought intense grief to me, I have become inconsolable started wandering all over the Earth aimlessly, through the mountains, beautiful forests, hills, rivers, etc. but I did not achieve serenity of mind even after wandering through the beautiful lands, the grief of separation from you was intense I could not find peace even after roaming through those beautiful lands, finally, I have arrived in the magnificent hills of Neelashaila/blue mountain which is far from the northern side, surrounded by four charming golden peaks, that bears a cluster of Bitapa, Vatavruksha, Palasha, and mango trees respectively. On the pinnacle of this magnificent Neelashaila, there was a beautiful tarn/lake with lovely stairs to the water, that took all my attraction, I was completely absorbed by the beauty of it.”

Devi Girija speaks “Oh! Prabho, Oh! Mahadeva, how did Sage Kakabhusundi attain the appearance of a crow, even after having deep insight, great devotion, and virtues? Oh! Prabho, how did the crow achieve the marvelous story of ‘Sri Ramacharitha Manas”? Oh! Kamari, how did you get to know the ‘Sri Ramacharitha”? kindly fill my ears with all those information, Oh! Prabho, King of bird, Garuda is the essence of virtue and knowledge, he is a sincere servant of Lord Sri Hari, and lives close to the Lord, why did Garuda leave the host of Sages and approach Sage Kakabhusundi to listen to the exploits of Lord Rama? Oh! Prabho, Garuda, and Sage Kakabhusundi are passionate devotees of Lord Sri Hari, how did the conversation between them take place?” Lord Mahadeva was highly pleased to watch the inquisitiveness, and the innocence of Devi Girija, and he began to speak pleasantly “Oh! Devi Girija, Oh! Sati, you are an extremely fortunate one, your curiosity is beneficial to the whole world, you are virtuous, and you have an abundance of devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra, Oh! Devi, kindly listen to me carefully, the legend of Sri Rama is highly meritorious, and it would remove illusion and wrong perception of the Jeeva, it would enhance the faith in Lord Sri Ramachandra, the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra would drive away from the sufferings of worldly existence, and the Jeeva would cross the unfathomable ocean of Samsara at ease.”

Chapter - 54– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Devi Girija requests Lord Shambhu to explain the origin of ‘Sri Ramacharitha Manas’

Devi Girija spoke “Oh! Prabho, Oh! Mahadeva!  Sage Kakabhusundi was a fervent devotee of Lord Sri Ramachandra, he was dispassionate, steadfast, wise, and intelligent, why did he assume the form of a crow to worship Lord Sri Rama? Kindly clear my doubts. Oh! Purari,/slayer of demon Thripura, the Veda declares that 1) one in thousand of Jeeva would achieve the true devotion, steadfastness, observe austerities and penance,  2) one in ten millions of righteous Jeeva would follow the austerities, and achieve Birakthi/dispassion, and take extreme delight in being Viraktha 3) one in ten millions of Jeeva who are dispassionate would achieve the supreme knowledge/knowledge of Athma/Athma is Paramathma. 4) Hardly one in ten million enlightened Jeeva would achieve the state of Jeevan Muktha. 5) and one in thousands of renounced souls would achieve the oneness to the Bhrama are the fountain of bliss/ free from dualities of pain and pleasure, good and evil, respect and disrespect, etc. these are enlightened souls grown beyond differences, religious rites, Karma, are completely absorbs in absolute Bhramam. Oh! Suraraya,/Lord of Lords, whoever takes pleasure in the Sri Ramacharitha Manasa would get rid of Maya/illusion, which is extremely difficult to achieve. Oh! Prabho, kindly explain how did the Sage Kakabhusundi who has the form of a crow has achieved the supreme state of devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari?”

Devi Bhavani spoke fervently “Oh! Prabho, Oh! Kripayathana, I have no delusion left in me after listening to the various legends of the absolute Bhramam personified as the son of Kosala, I have attained the ultimate object of my life, you have marvelously explained the glories of Lord Sri Ramachandra who is the embodiment of wisdom and bliss. Oh! Prabho, my soul drank the nectar-like glories of Lord Rama explained by your moon-like face, which was received through the two ears like cups, I feel extremely blissful and contented. The Sages and Rishis have achieved eternal bliss and liberation by constantly listening to the glories of Lord Sri Hari which worked as a wooden log to cross the ocean of mundane existence and repeated births. The legends of Lord Sri Hari are nectar to ear and pleasing to mind although the Jeeva drenched in worldly matters would enjoy listening to it, if not they are unfortunate and destroyer of the soul after achieving the rarest birth as a human. Oh! Prabho, I have listened to the ‘Ramacharitha Manasa”/the lake-like exploits of Sri Ramacharitha which was recited beautifully by sage Kakabhusundi to Garuda, and I have felt extremely blissful listening to you.”

Maharishi Narada after singing in praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra, returned to his abode Bhramaloka, contemplating upon Lord Rama who is the ocean of bliss and beauty. Lord Shambhu speaks “Oh! Girija, I have explained the splendor of Lord Sri Ramachandra according to my intellect, the legends of Rama are infinite, and beyond description, even the Veda and Devi Sharada are incompetent to describe them all. Oh! Devi, the splendor of Rama is countless as his virtues, his various incarnations and amusements are beyond description as his sacred names, would it be possible to count the raindrops? Or the grain of sand? In the same manner, the virtues and passionate sports of Lord Rama are countless. The glorious legend of Rama would flourish the pure love and devotion in the hearts of listeners, and it is the gateway to the liberation from the sufferings of worldly existence and repeated births as well. Whoever reads and listens to the glorious legend of Sri Ramacharitha would achieve perpetual devotion at the lotus feet of Rama. Oh! Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Uththara Kanda – The prayer of Maharishi Naradha

Chapter - 51– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – The prayer of Maharishi Naradha

At that very moment, Maharishi Narada holding the Veena appeared before the Lord and began to sing in praise of Lord Sri Hari. “Oh!Pankajalochana/who has lotus-like eyes, Oh! Shoka Vimochana/reliever of grief and anxiety, you have a charming appearance and beautiful dark cloud complexioned limbs, you resemble honey bee that takes pleasure on the lotus-like the heart of Lord Shambhu/Kamari, Oh! The destroyer of the demon clan, the reliever of the burden of Mother Earth, delight to the noble souls, Sages, Rishis, and deities, Oh! Prabho, you are the destroyer of the sins, you resemble freshly formed clouds to the crops like the twice-born, you are beloved of Bhramins, you are the shelter for the distressed soul, you are the dispeller of grief, Oh! Prabho, you have killed the demons Khara, Dhushana, Thrishirass, Viradha, etc. with the might of your arms, and thereby relieved the burden of Mother Earth.  Oh! Sukharoopa/auspicious one, Oh! Ravanari/slayer of demon Ravana, Bhoobara/sustainer of the Earth, Oh! Dhasharathakula Kumudha Sudhakara/you resemble the sun that blossoms the lotus-like clan of Dhasharatha, Victory to you! Oh! Prabho, your endless glories are sung by the Veda, scriptures, Rishis, deities, Oh! Prabho, you are the destroyer of pride, jealousy, lust, anger, ego, greed, Oh! Prabho you are the ocean of mercy, and the dispeller of grief, you are the destroyer of the evilness of Kali era, Oh! Lord of Tulsidas, the protector of distressed souls, kindly shower your compassionate grace on us.”

Chapter - 50– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Sage Vashishta requests for Ananyabhakthi/perpetual devotion as a boon to Rama

Sage Vashishta spoke “Oh! Prabho, Sri Ramachandra, kindly grant me the boon of ‘Ananya Bhakthi’ /perpetual devotion at your lotus feet, may the love and devotion at your lotus feet flourish in all my births.” Thus, Sage Vashishta returned to his hermitage, Lord Rama was highly pleased with the devotion of the Sage.  Further, Rama along with Bharatha, Lakshman, Shathrughna, and Hanuman, took a stride through the beautiful city of Ayodhya, in the meantime, the compassionate Lord ordered his attendants to bring several horses, chariots, elephants, etc. and distribute them to the people who have desired to own them. The Supreme Lord Rama who is the remover of fatigue of worldly existence, has become tired of the stroll was moved under the shade of a mango tree, where Bharatha spread his upper clothing on the ground, soon all of them were seated around the Lord. Vayuputhra fanned the Lord to remove the perspiration on the charming face, Rama felt overjoyed watching the pure love of Hanuman, and his eyes filled with tears. Lord Shambhu speaks “Oh! Girija, there is no one fortunate and devoted as Hanuman at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra, and the selfless service of Hanuman has been admired by several times by Lord Rama.”

Sage Vashishta speaks “Oh! Prabho, I believed that the supreme Bhramam which is the ultimate object can be achieved only through the Thapasya/penance, Yogic practices, fire sacrifices, observance of Shamadhamadhi/Sathyam, Dhaya, Shaucham, Astheyam, Arjjavam, Ahimsa, Dhanam, Dhamam, Shamam, Shuchi, celibacy, etc. Oh! Prabho, I have understood that the Japa/utterance of Vedic chants, Thapa/penance, Niyama/austerities, Joga/Yoga, strict observance of one’s own duties and religious rites, recitation of Veda and sacred scriptures, learning Nigama Agamashasthras, Thanthric texts, the performance of auspicious deeds, Gyana/wisdom, spiritual knowledge, Dhaya/kindness,  Dhama/self-control, dip in sacred rivers, the performance of deeds prescribed in Veda and scriptures, are practiced to achieve that supreme Bhramam, Oh! Prabho, I have thoroughly understood that the meritorious rewards of those above-mentioned deeds can be attained with the practice of pure love and devotion at your lotus feet. Oh! Prabho, certainly, all those practices provide the fruit of it, even though the dirt cannot be removed with dirt or cannot achieve butter by churning water, hence the accumulated sins of several births can be cleansed only with the pure love and devotion like water to cleanse the dirt of impurities of the mind. Oh! Lord of Raghu, whoever devoted to the lotus feet of the supreme Bhramam which is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, unblemished, free from impurities, changeless, has neither birth nor death, pure, would get rid of impurities of lust, desire, anger, ego, jealousy, pride, etc.”

Chapter - 48– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Sage Vashishta praising the supreme Bhramam personified as Lord Rama

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi Uma, the people of Ayodhya are fortunate, they considered the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra as Bhrama/the creator, the embodiment of truth, wisdom, intelligence, valor, beauty, and bliss.” One day, Rama invited Sage Vashishta to his palace, and the Sage was received with great honor, washed his feet with great reverence, and sprinkled the water, while Sage Vashishta began to speak with folded hands “Oh! Raghunayaka, Oh! Rama, Oh! Kripasindhu, I have no words to praise your virtues, disciplines, and amiability, I do often bewilder watching your humility, even the Vedas are incompetent to describe your greatness, how can I describe them in words? Oh! Prabho, the Veda, and scriptures describe that the status of family priest is the most revered, initially when I was reluctant to accept it, my father Lord Bhrama said “Oh! Thatha, the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra is absolute Bhramam, the omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent Lord Sri Hari is personified as Lord Rama, he is the ornament of Raghu’s clan would rule the Kingdom of Ayodhya, hence serving the all-pervasive Bhramam would multiply your meritorious rewards.”

Prabho, Oh! Kripanidhan, you are father, mother, preceptor, and kinsman, you are the all-pervasive Bhramam, you are the creator of living and non-living things, you are dear than our lives, Oh! Rama, you are beneficent to us, you represent mind, body, intellect, chiththa, Ahamkara, Prana, Karma, and Gnanendhriya, Oh! Prabho you are the protector of the Jeeva, Oh! Asurari, everyone has their own interest to attain, no one is concerned about other’s spiritual advancement, not even in their dreams.” The Lord of Raghu was highly pleased to listen to the words of pure love and devotion of the people assembled, thus they bade farewell to Rama, and returned to their home recollecting the marvelous speech of the Lord.

Chapter - 46– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda –The practice of devotion requires innocent heart, serenity, and the mind without impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara

Rama speaks “ I shall pray before you with folded hands, Oh! Mahathma, the devotion at my lotus feet cannot be earned without the adoration of Lord Shankara, the path of devotion is the easiest way to attain my grace, and there are no difficulties involved in it, it does not require Japa, Thapa, Yoga, fasting or vows. The practice of devotion requires an innocent heart, contented, and the mind without impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, and completely surrendered at my lotus feet. The Jeeva drenched in material matters and engages in the worship of me for personal benefits, cannot achieve my grace. I shall describe the traits of my devotees, 1) the Jeeva who is free from the impurities of the mind, Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara and Mamakara 2) free from an interest in worldly matters and bondage 3) have no desire or expectation or fear or animosity against anyone is freely wander over the Earth in bliss. 4) Jeeva who does not perform rites for personal benefits, abandoned home, family, children, relatives, companions, 5) Practice austerities without pride in it 6) free from anger, lust, pride, jealousy, and ego, 7) enjoys the company of Santh, Mahathma and noble souls, 8) consider the Purusharththa/Dharma, Arththa, Kama, Moksha as mere grass, and have firm faith in me without any deep analysis.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Uththara Kanda – The highly meritorious deed is the worship of Bhramanas/twice-born by word, mind, and deed - The Rishis and deities are propitious to those Jeeva who selflessly serve the Brahmins

Chapter - 45– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – The highly meritorious deed is the worship of Bhramanas/twice-born by word, mind, and deed - The Rishis and deities are propitious to those Jeeva who selflessly serve the Brahmins

Rama speaks “Oh! Mahathma, the Jeeva who is drenched in worldly matters and physical pleasures, are ignorant and unfortunate, even after attaining the rarest birth as a human if it was not utilized for crossing the mundane existence by practicing Shamadhamadhi/austerities and penance, that Jeeva is disrespectful meets the fate of self-murderer. If you seek happiness and welfare whiling living on the Earth and afterlife, listen to me carefully, and store them in your hearts, the Vedas and Puranas emphasizes that the devotion at my lotus feet is the pleasant path to achieve serenity of mind, and cross the unfathomable ocean of worldly existence. The ignorant Jeeva drenched in material matters such as possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, relatives, companion, wife, children, etc. constantly undergo suffering and pain /Thapathrya, finds it difficult to achieve devotion, eventually fails to achieve my grace. Therefore, the practice of devotion is the only way to achieve my grace, which would be possible only with the association of Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls. The association of Mahatmas is not possible without the piousness of the several births, the communion with the devotees of the Lord would bring an end to the Garbhavasa Dhukham/repeated births and death. The highly meritorious deed is the worship of Bhramanas/twice-born by word, mind, and deed, the Rishis and deities are propitious to those Jeeva who selflessly serve the Brahmins.”

Chapter - 44– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – The unfortunate Jeeva hurls themselves into sufferings of worldly existence, and repeated births

The unfortunate Jeeva drenched in impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, undergoes constant miseries and grief of worldly existence, and blame the Time, deities, and fate for their ill-fortune. All the happiness and pleasures from the senses are short living nature, eventually, it hurls the Jeeva in constant grief. The dull-minded, drenched in impurities of the mind, and sensual pleasures, are ordained to consume toxic poison instead of nectar. These miserable Jeeva hurl themselves into eighty-four lakh Yonis/species of four divisions, continue to drive by Maya, and perform Karma with the influence of time, destiny, and nature, etc. The Jeeva who has no self-interest, sincerely worship me, and perform the austerities, Shamadhamadhi, and have perfect control over sense, cross the unfathomable ocean of mundane existence with the wind like my grace, attains preceptor to guide them to the path of righteousness.”

Chapter - 43– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – whoever does not strive for the achievement of the supreme Bhramam/Athmavichara, even after obtaining the rarest birth of human are unfortunate

The illustrious Sanakadhis who are the liberated souls/Jeevanmuktha, the absolute Bhramam embodied as the ascetics took great pleasure in the various amusements of Lord Rama, hence the Jeeva whoever does not take pleasure in the glorious legend of Sri Hari is stonehearted. One day Lord Raghu invited Sage Vashishta, Rishis, Sages, and the illustrious Bhramins in the assembly, and all of them were received with great honor and took the seats arranged for them. The Supreme Lord Rama who is the destroyer of Garbhavasadhukha/repeated births, addressed the assembly “Oh! Mahathma, whatever I utter are not out of attachment to the world, I do not compel to do something which is worthless to practice, or I do not enforce my power on the people of Ayodhya, therefore kindly listen to me and act whatever feasible for you, and whoever follows my instructions sincerely is dear to me, if I utter anything unpleasant, kindly correct me. The Veda and scriptures highly emphasize that the human birth is rare to achieve, even for the deities and it is most appropriate for spiritual endeavors, and advancement, it is the gateway for liberation from the sufferings of worldly existence, therefore whoever does not strive for the achievement of that supreme Bhramam, even after obtaining the rarest birth of human are unfortunate.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Uththara Kanda – Karma/good and bad deeds are the product of Maya/illusion and ignorance

Chapter – 42– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Karma/good and bad deeds are the product of Maya/illusion and ignorance

Rama speaks “Oh! Dear Brother, the good and evil Karma are the product of Maya/illusion, Jeeva drenched in Maya forced to commit good and bad deeds,/ due to the influence Roopa/forms, Shabdha/sound, Sparsha/touch, Rasa/taste,  and Gandha/smell the Jeeva engages in various Karma. The ignorance causes to commit the sin, and the dispassion and renunciation keep the Jeeva away from the sin.”

Bharatha, Lakshman, and Shathrughna were rejoiced at heart listening to the nectar-like speeches of Rama, their heart was brimming with love for the supreme Bhramam, they repeatedly prostrated before the Lord, and particularly Hanuman was transported to a state of bliss, eventually, all of them returned to the palace, in this way, every day Lord Sri Ramachandra ventured out with his brothers and Hanuman, imparting the highest of the wisdom. During these days Maharishi Narada was a daily visitor to the palace of Ayodhya, and sing in praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra, after witnessing the various amusement of Lord Rama, he returns to the abode of Lord Bhrama and narrate to him, Lord Viranchi replied in immense delight “Oh! Thatha, keep singing in praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra,” Sanakadhis praised Narada after listening to the exploits of Sri Ramachandra, they forgot the Samadhi/transcendental state and completely absorbed in listening to the praise of the Lord.

Chapter - 41– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Rama describes the nature of noble souls and wicked people

Rama speaks “Oh! Bharatha, there was no wicked Jeeva existed in the Sathya Yuga and Thretha Yuga, but in the Dwapara Yuga there will be a sprinkle of distressed Jeevas and unfortunately in the Kali Yuga it would be the abode of atrocities, and wickedness. Oh! Dear Brother, the Veda, and Purana, the illustrious Sages and Rishis emphasize that there is no virtue as kindness, and there is no meanness as arrogance. Whoever takes pleasure in inflicting pain on others would take several births and continue to suffer the grief and pain, and whoever drenched in illusion, Kama, Krodha, Moha, Madha, Lobha, Masthshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, commit various sins, and ruin the life on Earth and afterlife as well. Oh! Bharatha, I represent death/Lord Yama, disperse the fruit of Karma/deeds of the Jeeva, the fortunate ones, Sages, Rishis, deities, worship me, thereby get rid of sufferings of worldly existence, and repeated births/Garbhavasa Dhukham. They practice Shamadhamadhi/Sathyam, Shama, Dhamam, Dhanam, Dhaya, Astheyam, Bhramacharya, Ahimsa, Shaucham, etc. renounce from good and evil actions and take refuge in me. Oh! Thatha, I have described the character of the Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls who worship me and get rid of Garbhavasa Dukham/repeated births, and the nature of wicked who repeatedly hurl themselves into several births and undergo sufferings and grief of worldly existence.”

Chapter - 40– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Rama describes the nature of wicked people

Lord Rama speaks “Oh! Thatha, people who enjoy the company of others' wives, wealth, and take great pleasure in causing afflictions on others, and enjoy the ill fortune of others, and take pleasure in spreading rumors, are demons, carnivores in the grab of humans. These wicked are greedy, they take immense pleasure in physical relationships and are gluttons by nature, and will have no fear of punishments on the abode of Yama. They could not bear the achievement or fortune of others, they leave a sigh of distress in others advancement, on the other hand, if they see others in afflictions, they take pleasure in watching it as if they had achieved huge treasure. These people are devoted to their selfish interests, they keep enmity with the kinsfolk, drenched in sensuality, and greed. They will not have any respect for their father, mother, preceptor, or Bhramins, they are ruined and bring destruction to others. These wicked people are drenched in illusion, ignorance, and they do not keep association with Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls, or do not show interest in listening and reciting the glorious legends of Lord Sri Hari. They are the ocean of vile nature, dull-witted, drenched in impurities, do not respect Veda or Bhramins, take pleasure in others' wealth and wives.
