Chapter - 40– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara
Kanda – Rama describes the nature of wicked people
Lord Rama speaks “Oh! Thatha, people who
enjoy the company of others' wives, wealth, and take great pleasure in causing
afflictions on others, and enjoy the ill fortune of others, and take pleasure
in spreading rumors, are demons, carnivores in the grab of humans. These wicked
are greedy, they take immense pleasure in physical relationships and are
gluttons by nature, and will have no fear of punishments on the abode of Yama.
They could not bear the achievement or fortune of others, they leave a sigh of
distress in others advancement, on the other hand, if they see others in
afflictions, they take pleasure in watching it as if they had achieved huge treasure.
These people are devoted to their selfish interests, they keep enmity with the kinsfolk,
drenched in sensuality, and greed. They will not have any respect for their father,
mother, preceptor, or Bhramins, they are ruined and bring destruction to others.
These wicked people are drenched in illusion, ignorance, and they do not keep
association with Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls, or do not show interest in
listening and reciting the glorious legends of Lord Sri Hari. They are the
ocean of vile nature, dull-witted, drenched in impurities, do not respect Veda
or Bhramins, take pleasure in others' wealth and wives. Unfortunately, some wear
a mask of noble, although they are malice to all, particularly enemy to the Veda
and Bhramins, manipulative, and present themselves as a noble soul.”
