Chapter - 30– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara
Kanda – The people of Ayodhya eulogizes the splendor of Rama
The marvelousness of the city of Ayodhya,
and its pleasure gardens, ponds, rivers, huge wells with stairs, and the crystal-clear
water in it stole the hearts of sages and deities. The lakes and ponds were
clustered with various colors of lotus flowers, resounded with the cooing of
various species of birds, and humming bees, the beautiful pleasure gardens were
a welcoming sight for the passersby, is it ever possible to describe the
glory of Ramarajya under the regime of supreme Bhramam, the bliss personified?
The supernatural powers are embodied in the form of happiness and richness in the
Ramarajya. The people sang in praise of the virtues and valor of Lord Sri
Ramachandra, and they exclaimed “Worship at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra,
he is the bliss personified, protector of the Universe, he is the essence of
auspiciousness, elegance, beauty, richness, amiability, he has attractive blue
limbs and marvelous appearance, he has lotus like beautiful blue eyes that
would look after his devotees like the eyelids protect the eyes. He is wielded
in powerful bow and arrow, unconquerable in the battlefields, he is the delight
of Santh and Mahathma like the sun rays causes to blossom the lotus flowers. He
resembles the king of birds Garuda that devour the serpent-like untimely death and fear of death. Whoever devoted at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra
would get rid of impurities of Ahamkara, Mamakara, desire, lust, greed, ego,
anger, and jealousy, he is the skillful hunter who destroys the impurities of
mind like deer, he resembles the lion that kills the untamed elephant-like
arrogance and ignorance, he is the delight of devotees like the sunrays removes
the darkness of sorrow and misconception, he resembles the wildfire that engulfs
the wicked like the woods. Oh! Mind, why don’t you take shelter at the lotus
feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra, the Lord of Raghu along with the Jagathjanani,
Jagadamba, Paramba, Bhagavathi Devi Janaki who dispels the grief and sufferings
of worldly existence, and ultimately destroy the repeated births. Lord Rama
represents the frost that destroys the mosquitoes like endless desires, he is supreme
Bhramam personified as the son of Kosala, he is pure, unblemished, free from
afflictions and impurities, changeless, he has neither birth nor death, he is
indestructible Purusha, he is the delight of Santh, Mahatmas, and noble souls,
reliever of the burden of Mother Earth, and benevolent Lord of Tulsidas.”
