Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Kishkindha Kanda – Jambavan inspires Hanuman to cross the vast ocean - Phalashruthi

Chapter – 30– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Jambavan inspires Hanuman to cross the vast ocean  - Phalashruthi

Jambavan spoke fervently “Oh! Vanaras, Lord Sri Hari assumed huge form to crush the pride of Bali, it was an incredible experience to me, I have circumambulated seven times that Lord Thrivikrama in less than an hour.” Angadha spoke hesitantly “Oh! Mahathma, I may cross a hundred Yojans without much effort and approach the other side of the seashore, but I am not sure whether I can fly back with the same energy.” Jambavan spoke enthusiastically “Oh! Angadha, how can we assign the task to cross the ocean to you, even though you are competent in all manner? You are the leader of the army of warriors, and your presence within the army is crucial.” Jamban turned towards Hanuman who was sitting thoughtfully, contemplating upon Lord Rama “Oh! Hanuman, listen to me carefully, why are you keeping quiet? You are the son of Lord Vayu, and you have possessed immense valor as your father does, you are the storehouse of virtues, intelligence, might, braveness, courage, fearlessness, and spiritual wisdom. Which is the task difficult to accomplish for you? Oh! Dear child, you have incarnated on the Earth to perform the task of Lord Sri Ramachandra.” The moment Hanuman heard the inspirational voice of Jambavan echoed in his ears, he grew into mountain-sized, has the complexion of molten gold, eyes glistening like blaze, bodily hairs stood upright, with great effulgence, Lord Hanuman resembled the Mount Meru/golden mountain. He produced a huge roar like the lion that reverberated in the entire forest, “Oh! Mahathma, Oh! Jambavan, I am well capable to cross the hundred Yojana of the mighty ocean, even I can pluck out the city of Lanka located on the Trikoota hills, kindly advise me.” Jambavan advised passionately “Oh! Dear son, Oh! Hanumantha, all you have to do is meet Devi Sita, and find out her situation in the Ashoka Vatika, and get the information from Devi Sita and safely return here. The Supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra who has lotus-like eyes would do the remaining part, he would retrieve her safely with the might of his arm, accompanied by the host of Vanaras and he will perform the rest of the task as a mere sport.”

The Supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra accompanied by an innumerable army of Vanaras will eradicate the wicked demons from the Earth, and retrieve Devi Sita, the deities, and Sages will eulogize his valor and might, that would sanctify the entire Universe. Whoever sings in praise of that supreme Lord Rama would achieve a supreme state of ecstasy. Sri Tulsidas, the ardent devotee of Lord Sri Ramachandra who resembles a bee at the lotus feet of the Lord would sing in praise of that Lord always.

Phalashruthi:

Whoever sings or listens to the praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra who is the vanquisher of demon Thrishirass, would get fulfilled all their desires, and ultimately get liberated from the miseries and sufferings of the repeated births. Singing in praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra who has attractive blue limbs, has the luster of blue lotus flower, would eradicate interest in worldly matters and material things such as possession, fame, richness, wealth, money, children, wife, companions, and relatives, etc. which causes repeated sufferings and agony, ultimately it would remove the heap of sins of the Jeeva.

Chapter – 29– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Sampathi encourages the Vanaras to cross the ocean of hundred Yojanas – Jambavan speaks about the Thrivikrama incarnation of Lord Sri Hari

Sampathi spoke grimly “Oh! Vanaras, I have grown too old to render any kind of service in search for Devi Sita, but I have strong eyesight, we eagles are famous for that, I could see Devi Sita seated under the Shimshupa tree, in a wretched state, grieving over the separation from Rama. Oh! Vanaras, I remind you, who has possessed the might and intelligence to cross the hundreds of Yojana of the vast ocean can reach on the other side of the seashore. You can take my life story as an inspiration to fulfill the task of Rama, see how I have got rejuvenated with the fresh wings with the grace of Lord Rama. Oh! Vanaras, Jeevas who utter the sacred ‘Ramanama’ would easily cross the unfathomable ocean of worldly existence and repeated births. Do not lose the courage, contemplate upon that supreme Lord Rama and proceed to accomplish the task.” Sage Kakabhusundi speaks “Oh! Garuda, Sampathi left the army of Vanaras, giving enough inspiration and courage, soon all the Vanaras began to speak of their ability to cross the ocean, some expressed concern over it, others were overconfident, and some of them were anxious without knowing their inner strength.” The elderly Jambavan spoke “Oh! Vanaras, I have grown too old to perform any mighty task like the way as I was used in olden days. I still remember, when Lord Kharari, assumed the form of Thrivikrama while crushing the pride of demon Bali, he has assumed a mighty form to count the entire Universe in three strides, I have circumambulated that mighty Lord Thrivikrama reverentially, I was young at that time and had immense strength in me.”

Chapter – 28– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Samapathi offers homage to younger brother Jatayu with the help of Vanaras – Sampathi describes the whereabouts of Devi Sita in Ashoka Vatika

Sampathi spoke in tears “Would you kindly take me near the seashore so that I can offer water and sesame seeds to my departed soul of the younger brother, I can help you verbally, as I am too old to take a flight, but I have the sharp eyesight so that I can clearly advise the whereabouts of Devi Sita.” Sampathi performed homage to his younger brother and described his story “Oh! Vanaras, Jatayu, and I are brothers, once we flew to the heavens and made an attempt to enter into the orbit of the sun, Jatayu could not bear the heat of the Sun, so he returned back to Earth, I was so youthful and haughty, advanced the orbit of the sun, soon my wings got burned into ashes and returned to Earth with a painful scream. There was a compassionate Sage Chandrama who saw the miserable state of mine,  imparted spiritual wisdom to remove my afflictions, and concluded “In the Thretha Yuga, the supreme Lord Hari will incarnate as the son of King Dhasharatha to eradicate the wicked demon Ravana and his entire clan. Ravana would abduct the beloved consort of Rama, and the Lord will appoint several monkey warriors in search for Devi Sita, I would get rid of all my sins mere witnessing the monkey warriors, and I would achieve fresh wings, all I need to help you with the information of Devi Sita.” Sampathi spoke in ecstasy “The predictions of Sage Chandrama have come true, I have got rid of my sins, and achieved fresh wings, hence follow my instructions and proceed to accomplish the task of Lord Rama. Oh! Vanaras, on the summit of Thrikoot, is the City of Lanka, the fortress of demon King Ravana situated. I could see there is a beautiful garden Ashoka Vatika, where Devi Sita is lodged, surrounded by dreadful female demons, she is too fearful and in extreme agony.”

Chapter – 27– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Jambavan boosts the spirit of the Vanaras – Sampathi, the elder brother of Jatayu approaches the Vanaras

Jambavan spoke “Oh! Children, the supreme Bhramam incarnate at his own will for the welfare of cow, Bhramin, deities, earth, and Mahatmas. All those sincere devotees of that supreme Bhramam takes birth to assist while that supreme Bhramam incarnates on the Earth.” In this way, Jambavan gave motivational speeches to those monkey warriors who were dejected and lost hope to find Devi Sita. At that very moment, Sampathi the elder brother of Jatayu who was living in a mountain cave listened to all their speeches made his way out of the cave and saw a host of monkeys before the mouth of the cave, he thought God has provided him a sumptuous meal after a long time. The monkey warriors noticed Sampathi voraciously approaching them, shrieked out in terror “Our death has been confirmed now.” All those monkey warriors rose from their seats, Jambavan was perturbed at the sight of Sampathi. Angadha spoke in terror “No one on the Earth is fortunate as King of bird Jatayu, who sacrificed his life in the service of Lord Rama, gave out his mortal coil on the lap of the Lord, attained the abode of Lord Sri Hari.” As soon as Sampathi heard the voice of Angadha, he was overwhelmed with grief and joy, he got closer to the monkey warriors who were already terror-struck. Sampathi assured them that he is not going to hurt them at all, but he was wanted to hear about his dearest brother Jatayu. The monkey warriors narrated everything about his younger brother Jatayu who was brutally wounded by Ravana while protecting Devi Sita, left his mortal coil on the lap of Rama, later Rama performed the final rites of Jatayu. Sampathi was overjoyed at the news of Jatayu and his good luck, he praised Lord Raghu in many ways.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Kishkindha Kanda – The Vanaras get disappointed to notice that they did not make any progress in their task

Chapter – 26– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– The Vanaras get disappointed to notice that they did not make any achievement in their task

The Thapasvini repeatedly prostrated before Lord Rama and proceeded to the Badharikashram at the command of Lord, the beautiful land located at the hills of Himalayas in the abode of Lord Shankara. The monkey warriors arrived on the seashore realized that the stipulated time period is over, and have not achieved any success in their task, they worriedly spoke to each other “What would be our fate if we return without any news of Devi Sita?” Angadha spoke in tears “If we did not return, we die of thirst and hunger, if we did, we will definitely get killed in the hands of Sugrivah, in either way our death is certain. He would have killed me before at the time of death of my father Vali, the compassionate Lord protected me, hence I owe a great lot to Lord Sri Ramachandra.  I feel our death is nearer.” All the monkey warriors sunk in deep sorrow shed tears in agony, they spoke in chorus, “Oh! Crown prince, Angadha, we are not going to return without finding the whereabouts of Devi Sita.” Thus they spread Kusha grass on the seashore and took a seat, watching Angadha in deep distress, the senior warrior Jambavan gave out motivational speech “ Oh! Dear children, Rama is supreme Bhramam personified as the son of King Dhasharatha, he is immortal, pure, unblemished, free from changes and afflictions, has neither birth nor death. We are highly fortunate; we are here to fulfill the task of Lord Rama; we are the servants of Sagunaswaroopa Paramathma Parmbhramam.”

The monkeys kept a fair distance from the Thapasvini and answered her queries, she answered in an affectionate tone “Oh! Vanaras, quench your thirst and partake the luscious fruits from the garden.” They dived into crystal clear water and got freshened, and consumed fruits and drank water at heart’s content, and returned to the Thapasvini, she described her story elaborately to them and added “I will go and meet Lord of Raghu, all of you close your eyes so that you will be out of the cavern instantly. Do not worry, you shall find Devi Sita.” The monkey warriors closed their eyes at the instruction of the Thapasvini, when they opened their eyes, they found themselves before the seashore. The monkey warriors set out to forest caused mayhem in the woods, hills, mountains, streams, etc. their mind was completely devoted to Rama, freed from the interest in sensual pleasures and worldly matters. They brutally attacked the demons on their ways, did not leave a single spot to search, conducted rigorous exploration of every nook and corner of the dense wood, whenever they come across the hermits, they gather around them amiably. Soon after they felt exhausted with hunger and thirst, lost their track in the woods, finally ended up where there was no source of water. Hanuman realized that if they continue like this for another few hours, the warriors would die of thirst. Soon he leaped on the huge tree and looked around for the water source, saw a wonderful phenomenon, he noticed a deep hole on the ground, where several Chakravaha, herons, swans, hovered on its mouth, and several birds were making their way into it. Hanuman came down from the tree and was informed about the deep cavity in the ground which he has witnessed, as soon as the monkey warriors heard of the water source, they carried Hanuman on their shoulder and rushed to the site.

Chapter – 23– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Sugrivah orders Hanuman, Angadha, Nala, and Jambavan to proceed to southern direction – Rama offers the ring that has the Ramanama imprinted on it to Hanuman

The innumerable monkey warriors assembled before Lord Rama were dispersed into different directions after listening to the command of their King Sugrivah, reverentially bowed before Rama and their chief.  Further Sugrivah called for Angadha, Nala, and Hanuman and spoke amiably “Oh! Wise ones, Angadha, Nala, Hanuman, and Jambavan, you all are steadfast and intelligent warriors, you have to proceed to the southern directions to conduct the search for Devi Sita, and do not leave a single person you meet without enquiring the whereabouts of Devi Sita. Oh! Intelligent ones, clarity of mind, thoughtful speech, and dexterity in actions would bring successful accomplishment of the task of Rama. The leader should serve his companions with thought, deed, and speech, we should strive hard to achieve the fruitfulness of our birth and life after death as well. The knowledge of the impermanent nature of material matters and pleasures would inspire Jeeva to abandon the interest in worldly matters, thereby eradicating the sufferings of the repeated births. The rarest birth as humans achieved to strive hard to attain Bhakti, Gnana, Vairagya and practice pure love and devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Rama. The Jeeva who have achieved intense faith and devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Rama is fortunate, his life is fruitful.” Thus, the monkey warriors Angadha, Nala, Jambhavan, Hanuman prostrated before Sugrivah and Rama, conducted their journey contemplating at the lotus feet of Rama. Hanuman approached Lord Rama before leaving, Rama called Hanuman to come closer, the supreme Lord Hari has already perceived that the Hanuman is the one who is going to accomplish the task of Rama. Rama affectionately stroked the head of Hanuman, and offered his ring that carries the name ‘Rama’ imprinted on it, and spoke “Oh! Hanuman, pacify Devi Sita in many ways, and return quickly, also convey my pain of separation and agonies to her.” Hanuman felt he has reaped the fruit of his birth, repeatedly prostrated before Lord Rama, and retired to woods contemplating upon the Lord. The Supreme Lord Rama, who is the protector of deities, omniscient, well respected the statecraft, appointed spies to locate the whereabouts of Devi Sita.

Chapter – 22– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Sugrivah orders the army of monkey warriors to conduct the search for Devi Sita in all directions on the Earth

Rama and Sugrivah engaged in thoughtful conversation, at that moment, multitudes of monkey warriors in different colors arrived from different directions. Lord Shambhu speaks “Oh! Devi Uma, I have seen the innumerable monkey warriors appear before Rama, prostrated before him, and gazed at his marvelous appearance. It would be foolish to count the numbers of the army of monkey warriors present before Rama was enquired about the welfare of each and every one of the warriors, and it was not a surprise at all for that supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra who is omnipresent and omniscient. All those monkey worries stood in array as ordered by King Sugrivah, and instructed them “Dear warriors, I have commissioned you to perform the very important task of Lord Rama, therefore disperse yourself in different directions and bring the news of whereabouts of Devi Sita, and it is my order, everyone should return with their results in a month’s time. Importantly, whoever did not make it before the stipulated period of time, shall meet their death in my hands.”

Sugrivah prostrated before Rama and spoke with folded hands “Oh! Prabho, your powerful Maya defeated me, hence I am not deserved to get punished, Oh! Prabho, I am certain that your Maya won’t delude the mind of Jeeva in your presence, therefore kindly shower your compassionate grace on us. Oh! Prabho, the deities, humans, and even the illustrious Sages and Rishis are the slaves of the senses, I am an ignorant and dull-witted monkey, not to mention about myself. Oh! Prabho, there is no one pure and unblemished as you, who is not get distracted by piercing arrows like the glance of a woman? Who could sleep in the dark hours of passion and greed? Oh! Lord of Raghu, the virtues are not achieved by birth or practices, it can be attained only with your grace.” Lord Raghu smiled at Sugrivah and spoke “Oh! Brother, Oh! Dear Sugrivah, you are dear as my brother Bharatha to me. Now make a sincere effort to know the whereabouts of Devi Sita.”

Lakshman strung the bow that resounded as thunder and roared like a lion “ I will burn the city of Kishkindha into ashes with the Agneyasthra.” Soon Angadha, son of Vali envisioned the city in dismay appeared before him, Angadha rushed to Lakshman, and bowed at his feet, and stood with folded hands, immediately Lakshman extended his arms to protect him. The news of the arrival of Lakshman in fury to the city reached in the ears of Sugrivah who was already terrified and anxious, spoke to Hanuman “Oh! Hanuman, listen to me carefully, take Devi Thara with you to meet Lakshman, appease him with prayers, and receive him to the palace with great honor.” Thus, Hanuman along with Devi Thara arrived to meet Lakshman, Devi Thara eulogized the glory of Lord Sri Ramachandra, and received Lakshman to the palace with great respect, washed his feet, and offered him a seat. Sugrivah was prostrated before Lakshman was raised from the ground and embraced. Sugrivah spoke in guilt “Oh! Prabho, the pleasure of sense is nothing but intoxicating, push the soul in grief and agony, even the Sages are the victim of those pleasure of senses.” Lakshman was pleased to hear the revelation of the truth from Sugrivah and pacified him in many ways. Chapter – 19– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Lakshman arrives in the city of Kishkindha to meet Sugrivah

The Lord of Raghu who is the ocean of mercy, pacified Lakshman “Oh! Brother, Sugrivah is our closest associate, you should not hurt him, you threaten him and bring him before me.” In the meantime, Hanuman the son of Lord Vayu was thought “Sugrivah has forgotten the promise given to Lord Rama” hence, he approached Sugrivah and prostrated before him, and reminded him of the promise he has given to Lord Rama. Sugrivah was alarmed and replied to Hanuman “Oh! Son of Vayu, I have completely forgotten the promise to Lord Raghu, my interest in sensual pleasures and worldly matters stolen my good sense. Oh! Hanuman, the troops of monkey warriors are scattered all over, summoned them up and if anyone fails to meet me in two weeks would meet their death in my hands.” Soon, Hanuman send messengers to all directions, convinced them politely about the urgency of the situation, and influenced his tactics to obey his order, the messengers bowed before Hanuman and proceeded their journey to gather all the monkey warriors from different directions. At that very moment, Lakshman entered the city of Kishkindha, the monkey warriors were terrified watching him, flew into different directions.

Chapter – 18– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Rama express concern over Sugrivah’s disregard to keep up the promise

Rama speaks “Oh! Lakshman, the insects, and bugs have perished in the autumn season, as if the fortunate Jeeva found his preceptor, and got rid of misconceptions, sufferings, and grief of worldly existence. Oh! Brother, the rainy and autumn seasons are over, we did not hear anything about Devi Sita, If I got to know the whereabouts of Devi Sita, I would bring her back, even if she is in the hands of Lord Yama if she is alive wherever she is I would bring her back to my life. Oh! Dear brother, I think Sugrivah has forgotten completely about the promise to me, he has his own life, kingdom, treasures, wife, possessions, fame, etc. If so, I will shoot him to death with the same arrow that pierced the heart of Vali.” Lord Shambhu speaks “Oh! Devi Uma, the compassionate Lord Sri Ramachandra whose fleeting look provides serenity and removes the pride and infatuation of the Jeeva, would be able to get angry on the Jeeva? The enlightened sages and Rishis who have utmost love and devotion at the lotus feet of Rama only know the heart of Rama.” As soon as Lakshman perceived Rama is angry, he prepared to leave the forest with his bow and arrow to meet Sugrivah.

Chapter – 17– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Rama describes the beauty of Prashravana Hills

Rama speaks “Oh! Lakshman, there are four stages of Ashrama Dharma such as Bhramacharya, Grihastha, Vanaprastha, and Sanyasa, like there are four sets of people, the Jeeva acquire devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari like the King prepares to extend his domain of the Kingdom, ascetics leave the crowded places in search for a serene and beautiful woods to conduct austerities and penances, the merchants/Vaishya visit foreign land in search for the prospective buyers for his products, and the mendicants leaves the village in search for alms. Oh! Lakshman, the fishes are happy in the deep waters, like the Jeeva who have taken shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, whoever taken shelter in me won’t face any trouble or sufferings in their lives. The charming fully blossomed lotus flowers resemble the absolute Bhramam, which is surrounded by the humming honey bees and beautiful birds producing diverse sounds of the concert giving out stunning appearance in the hills. The Chakravah bird is extremely sad in the night like the wicked people get jealous of others’ fortune. The  Chathaka birds cry loud to quench their thirst, like the disbeliever in Lord Shankara who lacks peace of mind. The cool moon rays in the night relieve the heat of the day, as the sight of the holy men, ascetics, preceptors drives away the sins of the Jeeva. The flocks of Chakora birds gazing at the moon, like the Yogis and Thapasvis yearning to perceive that supreme Lord Sri Hari. The insects and bugs have perished due to fear of cold, just as the hostility towards Bhramins brings the destruction of the entire clan.”

Chapter – 16– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Rama describes the autumn season in the Prashravana hills

Rama spoke “Oh! Lakshman, the strong wind disperses the clouds into different directions, as if the birth of an unworthy offspring in the noble family makes the family customs and traditions disappear forever. The day has become too dark in the rainy season, unlike the hot climate, just as the wisdom-like bright sunlight removes the darkness of ignorance and the association of the wicked and deceitful people. Oh! Lakshman, the rainy season got over, the beautiful autumn has arrived, the Earth has been covered with Kasha grass packed with white flowers as if the rainy season has exposed its old age. The constellation known as Agasthya dried up the water on the pathways like the contentment swallowed up the greed in the Jeeva. The serene water in the ponds and lakes resemble the heart of the ascetics, Rishis, and Sages free from impurities of the minds. Oh! Lakshman, the waters in the wells, rivers, and ponds are beginning to dry as if the wise and noble souls abandon their interest in worldly matters and material things. The autumn season has brought the rarest species of Kanjjana birds to appear on the scene as if the pieties of meritorious deeds appear in the life of Jeeva. The Earth is spectacular without mud and dirt as if the country flourishes with the ruling of a wise leader who is well-versed in political science. The fishes are getting anxious about the diminishing water level like the rich people get anxious about the scarcity of the fund. The cloudless sky is bright like the devotees of Lord Hari who have abandoned the interest in worldly matters and material things. There are light showers in the autumn season that resemble the Jeeva develops the practice of devotion in me.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Kishkindha Kanda – Paramarththa Thaththva

Chapter – 15– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Paramarththa Thaththva

Rama spoke “Oh! Lakshman, the Earth has soaked in water and greens, hence it is difficult to find the footprints, just as the sacred scriptures permeated with doctrines are difficult to understand for the ignorant Jeeva. Oh! Lakshman, all I could hear was the croaking of the frogs, which resembles the Vedic chants of a large number of disciples in the hermitage. The trees, creepers, and plants are loaded with fresh leaves that resemble the cheerful and enthusiastic minds of the wise and intellectuals who have attained the supreme wisdom of Paramarththa. The fallen leaves of the Javasa plant resemble the wicked and deceitful Jeeva meets miserable end under the excellent statesmanship. Oh! Lakshman, the Earth is soaked in water, there is not a single speck of dust is visible, like the austerities, penance, vows, celibacy, Shamadhamadhi, etc. removes the impurities of the mind of the Sadhaka/seeker of truth. The earth is bountiful with rich natural and mineral wealth that resembles the affluence of the generous man. The pack of fireflies in the dark hours of the night appears as a band of hypocrites to me. The fields are flooded with water that destroyed the crops like the women get spoiled of excessive freedom. The clever farmers pull out the crops from the flooded waters in the fields, as if the wise abandon the interest in worldly matters and interest in material things of destructible nature. The Chakravaha birds are not seen, as if the virtues and moralities are disappeared in the Kali era. Although the downpour spread water equally on the Earth, the barren lands remain the same without a single shoot of grass, like the need for physical pleasures does not touch the devotees of Lord Hari. The Earth looks beautiful with bountiful crops and living creatures as if the Kingdom grows with its population. Oh! Lakshman, the pedestrians have halted here and there in this rainy season, as if the wisdom brought control over the senses.”

Chapter – 14– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Lord Rama describes the beauty of the rainy season in Prashravana hills – Paramarththa Thaththva

Rama spoke “Oh! Lakshman, look at the marvelous sight of the peacock dancing watching the freshly formed clouds like the devotees of Lord Vishnu rejoice at the heart of perceiving Lord Vishnu, even the hermit, dispassionate householder would rejoice at this sight. The roaring clouds dispersing in utter desolation like me in the absence of Devi Sita, the lightning piercing through the clouds resembles the unfaithful companions. Oh! Lakshman, the heavy downpour resembles the humility of the learned and noble souls, the mountain gracefully bearing the heavy downpour like the wise and noble souls take all the criticisms and humiliations of the wicked without uttering a single word. The water streaming down at a great speed from the mountains resembles the wicked achieved great treasure. The water gushed down from the hills fallen on the Earth with the beautiful splash resembles the Jeeva taken birth on the Earth instantly gets encircled by the Maya. The water flowing from all the directions assembles in a pool appears as the commendable virtues described in the scriptures that find their way to infuse in the heart of noble souls. The water from the various pools and rivers assemble in the ocean at the end, just as the impurities of the Jeeva take rest at the devotion on the lotus feet of Lord Hari.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Kishkindha Kanda – The beauty of Mount Prashravana

Chapter – 13– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– The beauty of Mount Prashravana

The deities have already arranged a beautiful cave in the mountain Prashravana for the merciful Lord. The mountain was surrounded by a bountiful beautiful forest, the trees and creepers were loaded with flowers and succulent fruits, with the sound of buzzing bees and chirping of birds. The rooted vegetables and fruits of varieties grow in abundance in the Prashravana, Lord Rama was attracted by the beauty of the hill decided to stay with Lakshman for another few months in the Prashravana hills, the deities disguised as inhabitants of the woods, bees, humans, birds, animals, and served the Lord. The forest was resembled the abode of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, provided an abundance of richness and beauty to her beloved Lord. Rama took a seat on the large crystal rock and gave lectures on spiritual wisdom, political science, Bhakti, dispassion/Vairagya, etc. to Lakshman. Eventually, the sky packed with the rain clouds made rumbling noises as the preparation for a heavy downpour.

Chapter – 12– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Sugrivah crowned as the King of Kishkindha – Rama moved to Mount Prashravana

Lakshman summoned the Bhramins,  and the people of the Kishkindha, and in their presence Sugrivah was crowned as the King of Kishkindha, and Angadha was declared as the crown prince of Kishkindha. Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi Uma, there is no companion as Lord Rama in this Universe, what else I can say, there is no preceptor, or father, or mother, or brother, or Master or deity, or human or Sage as Rama. All the relationships are formed out of selfishness, Sugrivah who was pathetic lived in the woods, in utter fear and anxiousness of Vali, his body was full of soreness, became the King of Kishkindha, thus the Lord of Raghu showered compassionate grace on him too. Oh! Devi, there is nothing to get surprised to watch the humans driven afar from the devotion to that supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra live in extreme agony and grief of worldly existence. Lord Sri Ramachandra taught Sugrivah the principles of political science and statesmanship and send him to Kishkindha, and spoke “Oh! Sugrivah, listen to me carefully, I won’t be entering your Kingdom for fourteen years, the hot season is over and the rainy season has taken place. I will be living on the nearest hill not far from you. Oh! Sugrivah, you and Angadha rule the Kingdom wisely for the welfare of its subjects, keeping in mind the promises we had made to each other.” Thus, Sugrivah returned to Kishkindha and Rama moved to Mount Prashravana.

Chapter – 11– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Rama pacifies Devi Thara – Sugrivah performs the final rite of Vali

Vali contemplating upon the marvelous form of Rama left his mortal coil effortlessly like the elephant knows little about the flower garland slipped out of its neck, thus Vali attained the abode of supreme Lord Rama. The people of Kishkindha were in utter dismay watching the miserable state of Devi Thara who was grieving the death of her beloved husband Vali, she approached the mortal coil of Vali with disheveled hair, and wept bitterly. The Lord Raghu saw Devi Thara in utter distress, he imparted the supreme knowledge and removed her delusion, soon Devi Thara got out of grief, “Oh! Devi, the body is made up of five essential elements, Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Ether, the soul is eternal, the body is perishable. Oh! Devi, why are lamenting over the destructible nature of body and material matters?” Devi Thara got rid of agony, and prostrated before the lotus feet of Rama, and sought the boon of intense devotion at his feet. Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi Uma, the supreme Lord Ramachandra makes the Jeeva dance like the puppets, Rama ordered Sugrivah to perform the final rites of Vali, further instructed Lakshman to perform the crowning ceremony of Sugrivah as the King of Kishkindha, soon everyone departed bowing head before the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra”.
