Kanda – Sage Kakabusundi describes the beautiful Lake like Sri Ramacharitha/Sri
Ramacharithamanas to Garuda
Sage Kakabusundi has the appearance of
crow, received Garuda reverentially, and spoke “Oh!Khagesa, Oh! Prabho, I am unfortunate to meet you, what
shall I do for you? Kindly explain the reason for your visit to Neelashiala.”
Garuda replied “Oh! Revered Sage, the supreme Lord Shambhu highly praised your
austerities and devotion, you are highly fortunate, Oh! Prabho, the object of
my visit to your abode has accomplished the moment I have witnessed you; I feel
highly fortunate to meet you, Oh! Prabho, all my misapprehensions, anxiousness,
delusions were disappeared immediately after seeing you. Oh! Dear one, kindly
narrate the exploits of Lord Sri Ramachandra, which is capable to remove the
sufferings and grief of worldly existence. I repeatedly request you to kindly
sing in praise of Lord Sri Hari in your nectar-like accent.” Sage
Kakabusundi was highly pleased to listen to the humble and sincere appeal of
Garuda, he drifted to the state of ecstasy and began to recount the virtues of
the Lord. Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh!
Bhavani, Sage Kakabusundi began to describe the splendor of the beautiful lake
like Sri Ramacharitha, then he narrated Maharishi Narada’s delusion and curse
on Lord Sri Hari, eventually the birth of the demons Ravana and Kumbhakarnna.,
further Kakabusundi sing in praise of the lineage of Lord Raghu, and marvelous
childhood amusement of Lord Rama.”
