Chapter – 21– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha
Kanda– Sugrivah eulogizes Rama and apologizes for the mistake, and seeking perpetual grace of the Lord
Sugrivah along with the monkey warriors and
Angadha set out to meet Lord Rama, and Lakshman was seated on the shoulder of monkey
King Sugrivah, the whole troop of warriors merrily walked towards Rama.
Sugrivah prostrated before Rama and spoke with folded hands “Oh! Prabho, your
powerful Maya defeated me, hence I am not deserved to get punished, Oh! Prabho,
I am certain that your Maya won’t delude the mind of Jeeva in your presence, therefore
kindly shower your compassionate grace on us. Oh! Prabho, the deities, humans,
and even the illustrious Sages and Rishis are the slaves of the senses, I am an
ignorant and dull-witted monkey, not to mention about myself. Oh! Prabho, there
is no one pure and unblemished as you, who is not get distracted by piercing
arrows like the glance of a woman? Who could sleep in the dark hours of passion
and greed? Oh! Lord of Raghu, the virtues are not achieved by birth or
practices, it can be attained only with your grace.” Lord Raghu smiled at
Sugrivah and spoke “Oh! Brother, Oh! Dear Sugrivah, you are dear as my brother
Bharatha to me. Now make a sincere effort to know the whereabouts of Devi Sita.”
