Chapter – 18– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sundara
Kanda– Hanuman receives blessings from Devi Sita
Hanuman spoke “Oh! Mother, do you know the
Vanaras does not possess might or valor or wisdom, it was the grace of supreme
Lord Sri Ramachandra, even Garuda swallow the snake.” Devi Sita felt gratified
listening to the words of Hanuman which was full of love and devotion to Lord
Rama, and was abundantly praising the might, valor of the Lord, she was
thoroughly understood Hanuman is the fervent devotee of Rama and blessed him “Oh!
Dear son, may you live long! You are the repository of virtue and valor. May
you live long without Jara/aging, Vyadhi/illness, and Bhaya/fear and anxiousness!
May that Lord of Raghu shower an abundance of grace upon you!” The nectar-like blessing of Devi Sita fell into the ears of Hanuman “May the supreme Lord be
gracious to you!’ he was transported into a state of ecstasy, repeatedly
prostrated before Devi Sita, and spoke with folded hands “Oh! Mother, I have
achieved all that I have desired with the blessings of you. Oh! Mother, I feel
so hungry watching the luscious fruits in the garden.” Devi Sita spoke worriedly
“Oh! Dear son, this garden is protected by dreadful demons.” Hanuman replied “Oh!
Mother, do not worry about them and I am not afraid of them, all I need is your
approval.”
