Kanda– Vibheehana’s advice to Ravana
The ministers spoke “Oh! Prabho, as long as a minister, preceptor, and physician speak pleasant words, it would remove the trepidations,
ignorance, and fear of illnesses and death.” It was a grave situation before
Ravana, but the ministers were praised his might and overlooked the upcoming danger. Vibheeshana who has thoroughly sensed the situation bowed before Ravana and prostrated at his feet. Vibheeshana began to speak “Oh!
Lord, you have asked the opinion of ministers, hence I take the opportunity to express
my views, Oh! Brother, whoever seeks welfare, fame, wisdom, prosperity, and
good fortune, while living on the Earth and afterlife should not set their
eyes on a stranger’s wife, like the moon on the fourth night of Lunar month. Oh! Prabho,
whoever hostile to living beings, even if he is the Lord of fourteen spheres
would meet destruction. No one will speak good about a person, even though he
is an ocean of virtues and brilliant, has a little bit of greed in him.”
