Chapter
– 9 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The Universe and it's living and
non-living things represent the supreme Lord/Sarvam Khalvitham Bhrama – The
noble-souls/Sadhu Santh Mahathma resembles an unfathomable ocean of wisdom and virtues
I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Sri
Ramachandra who is the essence of the Universe and its living and non-living
things. I shall bow down before the all-pervasive Supreme Lord who represents
Vidhya/wisdom and Avidhya/ignorance, Guna/virtues and Dhosha/sins, Kala/Time,
Karma/deeds, cause, and effect, good and evil, etc. I shall prostrate before the
supreme Lord who is the essence of Lord of Day/Surya who nourishes the life on
the Earth, and Lord of night/Moon who put off the creatures in rest with its cool
rays. The intellectuals are thoroughly
aware of the fact that the evil association would destroy the purity of the
mind, hence they keep afar from the interest in worldly matters and attachment
to people, same as the planets, medicines, water, air, and garments would portrait
its nature of good or bad from its association. I shall prostrate before the
Deva, Dhanava, Manushya, Kinnara, Naga,
Gandharva, Khaga, Pithru, Pretha, Rajanichara, and earnestly pray to be
gracious upon us on all the occasions.
I shall prostrate before the Eight million
and four hundred thousand creatures on the planet Earth, divided as aquatic
animals, animals on the land and air are the creation of the Supreme Lord
Seetha Rama, kindly recognize me as your servant and shower Your grace upon me.
I have no intellectual power to describe the all-pervasive Bhramam incarnated
as Lord Sri Ramachandra on the Earth, to alleviate the sufferings and sorrows
of the Jeeva, destroy the wicked and arrogant demons caused a burden to Earth,
and provide bliss to the noble souls. I am a dull-minded Jeeva taken
a huge step to the describe the virtues and splendor of Lord of Raghu, Lord Sri
Ramachandra, resemble the unfathomable ocean, my aspirations are out of reach like
yearning to achieve nectar with no means, not even to procure buttermilk. I am
certain that the noble and virtuous would listen to my childish talk praising
the virtues of Lord Sri Ramachandra with great interest and love, and
forgive my mistakes, they would consider it as the prattle of their child, and the
mischievous people who enjoy finding fault in others would get amused. This world
is an abundance of Jeeva drenched in Ahamkara and Mamakara, like the rivers and
streams swell upon the arrival of rain waters and sudden flood takes away
several lives mercilessly. At the same
time, there is no scarcity of the noble-souls resemble the mighty ocean that
graciously embrace the waters from all the water bodies, and swells only at the sight of the moon.
