Chapter – 211– Sri Ramacharitha Manas –
Bala Kanda– Rama expresses his willingness to fulfill his brother Lakshmana’s
desire to witness the glory of the city of Mithila to Maharishi Vishwamithra
The jewel of the clan of Raghu, Lord Rama and
Lakshman partook meals with the Rishis, Sages, and twice-born assembled, after
that Rama joined with his brother and spend the remaining half of the day with
him. Lakshman developed a desire to watch the glory of the city of Kingdom of
Janaka, but he was reluctant to share with his brother, in front of Rishis
Vishwamithra. Rama could read the mind of his brother, decided to fulfill his
desire. Rama approached his preceptor in his chamber and spoke courteously “Oh!
Guro, Lakshman longing to see the splendor of the city of Mithila, he is afraid
of revealing it to you, if you permit, I would like to take him to the city and
return shortly.” Rishis Vishwamithra was highly pleased and spoke “Oh! Rama,
you are the strict follower of Dharma. Oh! Thatha, you have possessed great
respect and manners, you are the source of happiness and welfare to Jeeva, you
have always been kind and compassionate to your devotees.”
