Chapter – 199– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda– Sage Vishwamithra and the Rishis’s were threatened by the demons Subhahu and Mareecha - The fire sacrifices, Yoga, Japa, Thapa, Swadhyaya, etc. were hindered in the forest

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Bhavani, the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam, free from attributes/Vasanas, impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, unblemished, pure, performed all those tasks which provided delight to his parents, preceptors, and his subjects. Oh! Devi, in the meantime, the illustrious Sage Vishwamithra along with a large number of Rishis, Sages, and Mahatmas lived in the dense woods, were performing various austerities, vows, fire sacrifice conducted Japa of Vedic chants, Yoga, and religious and spiritual activities for the welfare of the Universe. Whenever they engage the fire sacrifices the wicked demons Subhahu and Mareecha would appear with their several aids and destroy the fire sacrifice, hovering flesh, bones, the blood of animals in the sacrificial fire, thus constantly received a threat from these demons, hence none of their religious or spiritual practices were taken place successfully. Sage Vishwamithra and noble saints were deeply disturbed by the atrocities of the demons, Sage Vishwamithra pacified himself “The Supreme Lord Sri Hari has taken birth as a human on the Earth, to remove the burden of the Earth, he is the savior of the Universe, I shall visit the Kingdom of Ayodhya, and appeal to King Dhashratha and make him understand the serious issues to be taken care of immediately, and offer salutations to the supreme Bhramam born as the elder son of the King, and  I shall  bring the two brothers to stop the atrocities of the demons, the mere sight of that supreme Bhramam who is the essence of wisdom, virtues, and dispassion would provide nectar-like goodness to my eyes.”
