Devi Kaikeyi who was not aware of her misfortune spoke innocently “Oh! Manthara, why are you not uttering a word? I hope Rama and his father, Lakshman, Bharatha, and Ripudhamana are doing well? Have you heard about them?” The hunch back was pained at heart to watch the innocence of Devi Kaikeyi.  Manthara shrieked out of anger “Why should I turn to be mischievous? And for whom? Today no one is happier than Rama who is going to be the future King of Ayodhya and will be invested with the regime followed by the performance of coronation ceremony tomorrow morning, and one more person, Devi Kausalya who is the mother of Rama, attained the highest of the fortune, must be proud to expose herself as the Queen Mother. Why do not you go and watch them all? I have got agitated watching all these, because your son is away from the Kingdom, and you are the one taking pleasure under the rich quilt on the luxurious bed all the time, under the notion that your King is under your control, will obey all your orders. You are too involved in your luxuries and sleep; hence you are unable to detect the cunningness of your King.” Devi Kaikeyi spoke irritably, after listening to the malicious yet affectionate words favoring her “Oh! Hunch-back, how could you become so jealous, keep quiet do not an utter a word against the royal family, if you do so, sowing seedings of mistrust and jealousy in the family in which you are skilled at, I may pull out your tongue.”
