Ayodhyapathi
King Janaka summoned ministers and twice-born
in the assembly “The Avadhapathi, King Dhasharatha desires to return to his
Kingdom, make elaborate arrangements for their comfortable journeys and make
it as a public announcement.” As soon as the news of the return of Avadhapathi is revealed to the public, the members of the assembly are overwhelmed with emotion. The people
of Mithila couldn’t bear the news, asked each other’s in distress, ‘is it real
or dream’, once the departure of the groom’s people was confirmed, they became miserable
like the lotus flower shrivels at the time of sunset. King Janaka ordered his
men to rearrange all those shelter homes built on the pathways of their journeys,
soon all those homes were filled with an abundance of grains, dry fruits, beverages,
clothing, beddings, etc., several thousand oxen and men in carts were loaded with the
materials arrived in the shelter homes, to make the journeys of their guests more
pleasurable. King Janaka ordered to keep ready one lakh horses and twenty-five thousand
chariots, ten thousand elephants, cows, and buffalos well decorated with
ornaments and carts loaded with gems, finest pieces of jewelry and clothing, gems, and various
precious things which pushed the guardians of eight quarters into shame.
