Chapter – 32 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas –
Bala Kanda – The significance of Sri Ramacharitha – The benefits of meditation
and contemplation – Sri Ramacharitha is Mandakini
Sri Ramacharitha resembles the sacred river
Mandhakani that embellish the dense wood of Chitrakoot, which was the dwelling
place of Lord Sri Ramachandra along with Lakshman and Devi Sita during the
Vanavasa, this is one of the sacred lands on Earth carries the divine
footprints of Lord Sri Ramachandra and Devi Sita, and performed various
amusements on this land.
Sri Ramacharitha is the precious gem
Chinthamani that fulfills all the desires of the worshiper, and a marvelous
ornament adorned by the Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls. The virtues of Lord
Rama are the source of wisdom, remembrance of it would provide an abundance of
meritorious reward, ultimately the gateway to Moksha, liberation from repeated
births. Sri Ramacharitha would remove the illusion of Mayajanitha Samsara,
which is the cause of the sufferings and grief and repeated births, it works as
the superior herb represents Ashwinikumara to remove the Thribidha Thapa, the sufferings
of Samsara and Samsarachakra, it removes the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha,
Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, Mamakara, interest in worldly matters,
attachment to destructible Prakrithi and urge the seeker of truth to move on the
path of eternal
bliss/Sacchidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam resides as soul, that is
pure, unblemished, free from affliction, which has neither birth nor death. Sri
Ramacharitha is the source of supreme knowledge of self, inspires the Jeeva to
take up austerities, meditation, and contemplation thereby get rid of
impurities, as Sage Agasthya who dried up the ocean of Ahamkara and Mamakara
with the austerities and devotion. The
devotion and contemplation would strengthen the mind to get rid of impurities
and prepares it to pounce like the lion cub on the untamed elephant-sized lust,
greed, desire and anger, and the impurities of the Kali era. It would strengthen the mind to get rid of
sufferings and grief of Samsara, like the slayer of demon Tripura, it would
work as a heavy downpour on the colossal forest fire of ignorance and delusion.
It would remove the interest in material welfare and bodily pleasures like
toxic poison and change the destiny of the Jeeva that was already written by
Lord Bhrama. The meditation and contemplation resemble the brilliant sun rays
that dispels the darkness of ignorance. It resembles the rain clouds that
refresh the crops and flourish the land with rich natural resources, provides an
abundance of auspiciousness to the readers and listeners as well. The practice
of worship of Lord Vishnu and Shiva and his devotees, the composition of Sri
Ramacharitha resemble the pole star surrounded by millions of stars in the mind
of poets, would bring an abundance of commendable rewards. The Santh Mahatmas
represent Swans that take immense pleasure in the Sri Ramacharitha like the sacred
Manasarovar and remain in supreme bliss, as purifying as the sacred river
Ganga.
