Chapter – 75– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala
Kanda – Lord Mahadeva’s life after Devi Sati’s self-immolation
Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “The Supreme Lord
Mahadeva who is pure, unblemished, free form impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha,
Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, symbolizes wisdom, knowledge, and bliss, wandered
all over the Earth at the separation of grief from Devi Sati for several thousands
of years contemplating upon Lord Sri Hari. During this period of time, he
imparted the supreme knowledge to the Rishis and Sages, and the practice of
pure love and devotion to supreme Lord Hari, describing marvelous legends and
incarnations of Lord Hari. In this way, the supreme Lord Mahadeva who was sunk
in deep grief from the separation of his consort sought after the serenity of mind,
with the constant meditation and contemplation on supreme Lord Sri Hari. The Supreme Lord Rama who resembles an ocean of
virtues, kindness, bliss, charm witnessed the fervent devotion of Lord
Mahadeva, appeared before him “Oh! Prabho, who else in these fourteen worlds as
pure, unblemished, devoted underwent strict austerities and penance like you?” Thus,
Lord Rama eulogized the splendor of Lord Mahadeva and informed the birth of
Devi Sati as the daughter of pious couple Mount Himavan and Devi Mena. Further,
Prabhu Sri Rama elaborated the virtues, beauty, strict austerities and penance
of Goddess Bhavani, Jagathjanani, Bhagavathi Devi Parvathi to Lord Mahadeva.”
