Chapter – 209– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya
Kanda– The devotion and pure love of Bharatha at the lotus feet of Rama made
his journey more comfortable
Bharatha felt he was arrested in a cage of
affluence like a female bird of Chakravaha, provided by the affectionate sage
Bharadhwaja, that night was spend at the command of Sage and waited for the
early dawn. Bharatha and the people of Ayodhya, took a holy dip in the Triveni/confluence
of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswathi, and reverentially prostrated at the lotus feet
of Sage Bharadhwaja, and received an abundance of blessings and instructions
from the Sage. Bharatha was accompanied by experienced guides, thus the people
of Ayodhya proceeded to Chitrakoot. Bharatha walked beside Guha, holding hand
in hand, looked like the incarnation of love. The entire day’s journey was
conducted barefooted without any umbrellas, walking on the rough pathways,
watching Bharatha’s devotion and endurance, the Sages and Rishis abundantly praised
his austerities, self-discipline, love for Rama as genuine. Bharatha kept enquiring
about Rama, Lakshman, and Devi Sita to Guha, and he was pouring out the details
of the journey of Rama to the woods in a sweet accent. Guha showed the places
and trees where Rama took shelter and halted on his way to the forest, Bharatha could
not suppress his grief, the deities showered flowers watching the pure love and
devotion of Bharatha at the lotus feet of Rama, soon the pathways became approachable
with soil and green.
