Chapter – 273– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya
Kanda– The mother Earth showered warmth to the people of Mithila and Ayodhya by
serving their needs in abundance
The forest dwellers brought several wicker
baskets full of succulent fruits, vegetables, and fiber roots in large
quantities. The very presence of Lord Rama in the Chitrakoot provided all that
required items to meet the appetite of the people gathered, which was enough to
satisfy their appetite with the mere sight of it. The lakes, streams,
watercourses were filled with nectar-like water, brimming with joy and love.
The trees and creepers were loaded with fruits and flowers, which provided a beautiful
shelter home for the various species of birds, and humming bees. The entire
forest of Chitrakoot was overflowing with joy, love, the sounds of birds and
animals living in complete harmony, the cool and fragrant breeze enhanced the
delight of the people. The loveliness of Chithrakoot was beyond words as if
the mother Earth was showering warmth to King Janaka and the entire people of
Mithila and Ayodhya. The people assembled finished holy dip and performed
morning rite, and assembled before Sage Vashishta, King Janaka, and Rama to
receive permission to retire to their shelter homes in the woods were
presented with various kinds of fruits, fiber roots, vegetables, etc. in several
wicker baskets.
