Chapter – 221– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya
Kanda– Lakshman suspects the arrival of Bharatha and Shathrughna with the four-fold
army
Lakshman spoke “Oh! Prabho, you are
truthful, wise, the storehouse of virtues, and the ocean of mercy, hence you easily love
and trust everyone, get pleased with everyone, and consider them as an inseparable
part of you. The dull-minded Jeeva, gets drenched in Ahamkara, Mamakara, Kama,
Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha and Mathshcharya, chase after material pleasures
richness, wealth, possession, fame, money, children, wife, companion and relatives, etc. forgetting the nature of ‘self’/Athma is Paramathma. Bharatha is
righteous, truthful, virtuous, and the whole world knows the pure love and
devotion of Bharatha at your lotus feet. Oh! Prabho, you are the legal hire to
the throne, but Bharatha has attained the status of the King of Ayodhya now,
that might have changed the righteousness in him, and you are alone in the
forest, he might have thought of taking advantage of the situation while you
are all alone in the forest, he must have structured some evil plans to harm you
to confirm his status as the King of Ayodya, that was the reason the two
brothers have brought a four-fold army to the forest. If not, why should they
bring chariots, horses, elephants, and the army of men? Why should I blame Bharatha?
it is quite natural that the people who achieve immense fame and might would
turn aggressive and arrogant.”
