Chapter – 190– Sri Ramacharitha Manas –
Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha and the people of Ayodhya took a dip in the sacred
Ganga and offered prayers
Guha’s men retired to the woods after
receiving orders from their Master, soon they began to prepare beautiful
shelter homes for their guests, using the creepers, leaves, bark of trees and
woods, thus they have constructed several marvelous homes near the ponds,
streams, lakes, and under the cluster 0f auspicious trees. Bharatha visited the village Shrungaberipura,
and it multiplied the happiness and enthusiasm of the people lived in this
village, Guha felt extremely happy and honored. Bharatha stood close to the
Nishadharaja and perceived the beauty of the village, the pair resembled love
and meekness. Further, Bharatha visited
the river Ganga purifier of souls with his army men, he prostrated before the
sacred river, also came to know that Lord Rama bathed in this river, Bharatha
was transported to a state of bliss as if he has met Rama. Soon, the people of
Ayodhya prostrated before Goddess Ganga and offered prayers with the folded
hands, they took holy dip in the water and prayed to achieve intense love and
devotion at the lotus feet of Rama. Bharatha offered ablutions and prayed to
Ganga “Oh! Mother, you are the purifier of the world, your sands are fortunate
to bear the footprints of your devotees resemble cows, Oh! Mother, I shall
prostrate before you and ask for a boon with folded hands, kindly provide us
pure love and intense devotion at the lotus feet of Rama and Devi Sita.”
