Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “ Oh! Mune, Jagathjanani Devi Sita who was accompanied by female deities in disguise, followed by lovely women/Suvasini from the royal family, holding Mangaladhrayas in large trays, accompanied her to the dais. The bride was decorated with the eighteen types of embellishment, has the gait of an elephant, gracefully moved to the center stage, soon the Sages and Rishis got out of meditation, the sounds of Cuckoos silenced in a shy, the auspicious songs of the women were continued, the jingling sounds of the bells adorned in anklets, girdle, bangles were echoed in the air. Devi Sita who is the epitome of beauty shone brilliantly in the middle of the group of lovely women, which was beyond description. The huge family members of the groom witnessed the splendor of Devi Sita who is the storehouse of virtue, fortune, beauty, and bliss, everyone praised her loveliness and greeted her in their hearts. The very sight of the loveliness of Devi Sita aroused desires in the heart of Rama. King Dhasharatha and their four sons immersed in supreme delight, watching the beauty of the bride, the joy of their hearts was beyond description. The deities showered flowers, the Sages and twice-born uttered sacred texts showering benedictions on the bride. The lovely women melodious sang matching to the tune of drums, pipes, etc. the crowd immersed in supreme bliss. The moment Jagathjanani entered the pavilion, the recitation of Vedic chants reverberated in the air, Sage Vashishta, preceptor of King Dhasharatha and Sage Shathanandha, preceptor of King Janaka meticulously performed all the customary rites, and the rites prescribed in the Veda.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, it was one of the most propitious moments of extreme delight, hence no one remembered each other’s details, all the eyes were on the Sacchidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam Lord Rama, who is bliss personified, the whole atmosphere was diffused in extreme bliss. The deities in the guise of twice-born mentally offered prayers to Lord Rama and occupied their respective seats in great enthusiasm. All the eyes set on the loveliness of Rama were drinking the beauty, and the pleasantness of Paramathma at their heart’s content, like the Chakora birds, takes pleasure of the full moon rays. Finally, the auspicious moment has arrived, Sage Vashishta summoned Sage Shathanandha with great honor and informed him to bring the bride to the dais. Devi Sunayana was highly pleased to hear the message of the Sage, she invited twice-born, and the elderly women of the family to perform the wedding rites, including the female deities who have assumed the form of lovely women was beyond description. They melodiously sang various songs, none of them could recognize them as female deities, all the eyes were set on the beautiful women/Devi Sachi, Devi Rama, Devi Sarada, and Devi Bhavani. Queen Sunayana repeatedly honored them and praised their virtues and beauty, without knowing their real identities. These female deities decorated Jagathjanani, Paramba, Bhagavathi Devi Sita in the finest garments, brought her in a marvelous bridal attire, adorned in beautiful flowers on hair and chest, and ornaments all over the body, smeared Mangaladhravya and rich fragrance on her lovely limbs, and they stood as a circle around the bride and brought her to the pavilion.”

The grandeur of the majestic wedding Hall stole the hearts of sages and Rishis, further King Janaka welcomed all the prominent Sages, twice-born and ministers, and led them to their respective throne arranged in a stylish manner. Janaka worshiped Sage Vashishta, the preceptor of King Dhasharatha with utmost reverence, and received blessings from the Sage, next the King passionately moved to Kaushika, and worshiped the Sage with utmost devotion and sought his blessings as well. Janaka worshiped Sage Vamadeva who is the royal priest of King Dhasharatha, and Rishis in an appropriate manner offered them a marvelous throne and received their blessings. King Janaka moved towards King Dhasharatha, and profusely eulogized his glories and nobleness as Lord Shiva, and gracefully revealed his delight to be united with the illustrious clan of Raghus, and kept praising the King of Ayodhya folding his palms together. King Janaka received all the members of King Dhasharatha’s assembly, twice-born, ministers, Sage and Rishis in an appropriate manner and led them to the decorative throne arranged for them. How did I describe the warmth shared by the royal family, and the twice-born, sages and the people assembled with one tongue? Janaka honored all those members of King Dhasharatha with his sweet conversation and gifts. Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva, Ashtadhikpalakas, Surya, and deities knew the splendor of Lord Hari who is incarnated as Rama, hence all of them disguised as twice-born and assembled on the dais to witness the divine wedding. Though King Janaka was not aware of the deities disguised as twice-born, received all of them with great honor and led them to decorative thrones to be seated.

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, Lord Rama was taken a sanctified seat already arranged on the dais, women attired in finest garments, adorned in several ornaments, holding a tray full of Mangaladhraya and earthen lamps removed the evil eyes on Rama, they sang melodiously and the whole crowd rejoiced at the loveliness of Rama. Lord Bhrama and deities disguised as twice-born took great pleasure in the merriment, they gazed at the Sacchidhanandaswaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam who is the delight of lotus like Raghu clan, attired in groom’s garments, attractive dark cloud limbs beautifully adorned in various ornaments, such as  crown, armlets, girdle, upper clothes covered the broad chest, revealing half of the strong shoulders, conch shaped neck adorned in gem and pearl decorated ornaments, sacred thread across the chest, etc. thus, the deities achieved the fruitfulness of their lives. Further the attendants, royal performers, and dancers bowed heads before Rama and received his blessings. All the customary rites were performed according to the two illustrious clan, following the rites prescribed on the Veda. King Janaka and King Dhasharatha embraced each other with great love, the poets assembled failed to describe the devotion and love shared between these two monarchs, the deities surprised to witness the mutual respect and loved shared by these two illustrious monarchs, showered flowers in extreme joy, and sang melodiously praising the glories of the Kings, and eulogized “Ever since the creation of Bhrama has begun, this is the one and only grand celestial wedding we are witnessing, although we have heard of several celestial weddings, but the grandeur of wedding ceremony organized by the bride and groom parties is well-balanced, in an appropriate manner.” These words were echoed in the heaven brought extreme bliss to all, King Dhasharatha led by King Janaka walked through the majestic carpeted pathways to the pavilion with all respects and offered water to wash hands.”

The female deities assembled as members of the royal family approached the Sacchidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma Parmabhramam with the trays full of auspicious ingredients/Mangaladhravya, and lightened lamps to remove evil eyes on that Paramathma, the sounds of divine musical instruments reverberated in the sky, the deities showered flowers, the women assembled behold the loveliness of that Paramathma Parambhramam incarnated as Rama, tears overflown through their beautiful eyes resembled lotus flower petals in extreme joy, and transported them to a world of ecstasy. The joy of Queen Sunayana watching the mesmerizing beauty of Lord Rama in the groom’s attire was beyond the description even for Devi Sarada and Lord Adhishesha in hundreds of Kalpa. Devi Sunayana felt it is inauspicious to shed tears on the propitious moment, she dutifully removed the evil eyes from the groom, waving the earthen lamps around him in clock and anti-clockwise, and followed all the customary rites and the rites prescribed in the Veda. There were five types of divine musical instruments echoed in the air, Devi Sunayana offered water to Rama for washing hands, and proceeded to the pavilion. The majestic appearance of King Dasaratha excelled at the Emperors of the three worlds.



The deities showered flowers, the large group of twice-born recited the Vedic chants meticulously, brought all new vibrations in the air, the sounds of musical instruments reverberated in the Earth and heaven as well, hence the people couldn’t converse each other.  Rama after washing hands, was followed by ceremonial priests, and a sanctified seat was offered by the royal priests to the groom in the large wedding Hall.

The wedding hall merged in extreme delight, the sounds of divine instruments reverberated in the sky, the deities showered flowers, rejoiced, and cheered “Victory to Raghu clan! Victory to the Raghu clan! Victory to Raghu clan and Victory to the jewel of Raghu’s race!” the sounds of kettle drums, pipes, clarinet were echoed, while Rama and the whole wedding procession were about to enter the magnificent wedding hall. Queen Sunayana, the mother of Devi Sita summoned all the Suvasinis in the family to collect auspicious ingredients, they have lightened a large number of beautiful earthen lamps and made all preparations to receive the groom to the wedding Hall. A large group of beautiful women attired in magnificent clothes, adorned in stunning pieces of jewelry, holding the tray full of auspicious ingredients, and lightened lamps, received the groom into the Hall. Those women have the face lustrous as the moon, beautiful eyes have the resemblance of the antelopes, excelled the beauty of Devi Rati, attired in majestic garments, attractive limbs adorned in exquisite ornaments, sang beautifully resembled the sounds of Cuckoos. These beautiful women have the gait of elephants, gracefully approached the groom, following the sounds of jingling sounds of bells from the anklets, and waist ornaments. The beautiful music echoed in the air; the people assembled experienced as if in heaven.  Devi Sachi of Lord Indra’s consort, Goddess Sharada, Goddess Rama, Goddess Bhavani, and all the female deities, assumed the form of lovely women and assembled on the dais where the royal families were taken seats, and they beautifully sang along with the other women in the wedding hall, but none could recognize them as female deities.

The beautiful horse on which Rama strode to the wedding hall was decorated with the heavy ornaments of gems and pearls, resembled the cupid has assumed the form of a lovely horse for Rama, the people mesmerized at the young, vigor, the beauty of the horse decorated with the finest ornaments on its body, tinkling bells around its neck, stunning bridle, dazed the hearts of the people, deities, and sages. The horse was moving according to the will of the Sacchidhanandaswaroopa Paramathma who was taken a seat on it, the loveliness of the horse resembled the scattered clouds, giving way to the twinkling stars, which arouse the emotions in the peacock and compel them to dance beautifully spreading its feathers. Devi Sarada who is  excellence in speech was unable to describe the moment, Lord Shankara who have five faces that holds three eyes on each, beholden the beauty of that supreme Lord and eulogized the loveliness of Rama. Lord Sri Hari fondly gazed at the loveliness of Rama, and the four-faced Lord Bhrama behold the beauty of Rama and felt his eight eyes are not enough to engulf the loveliness of Rama. The chief of the warrior of deities, the six-faced Lord Karthikeya felt his twelve eyes are insufficient to swarm the beauty of Rama. Lord Indra who has possessed thousands of eyes, felt the curse of the sage Gautama as a blessing on this occasion, and all the deities envied viewing the delight of Lord Indra/Purandhara. All the deities and celestials arrived to witness the loveliness of Rama immersed in supreme bliss, same as the monarchs in the grand wedding hall.
