Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – King Dhasharatha’s revelation of the arrival of elderly years of age

Chapter – 2– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– King Dhasharatha’s revelation of the arrival of elderly years of age

Everyone in the Kingdom cherished the loveliness of the couple and prayed to Lord of the Lords Mahadeva, “Oh! Prabho, we wish to witness the Yuvaraj/heir to the throne, Rama crowned as the King of Ayodhya, while the King Dhasharatha is alive.” One day King Dhasharatha who is the embodiment of virtues, along with ministers and preceptors was seated in the grand assembly and listening to the over-pouring fame of the heir to the throne, Lord Rama who is the Lord of Lords, Lord of fourteen worlds, Sarvagya/knower of past, present and future, lured the hearts of all those neighboring Kings. All have the opinion that the young prince Rama is equally skillful, wise, learned, and knowledgeable as King Dhasharatha. Rama made large acquittances with the rulers of the nearby regions for the welfare of the subjects of Ayodhya and Rama is the supreme bliss of King Dhasharatha, so whatever eulogized about him would fall short of words. King Dhasharatha casually approached the mirror, and had a look at his face, and repositioned the crown. Suddenly, he noticed a few grey hairs on the corner of the ears, as if the later years of age whispering on its arrival “Oh! King, perform the coronation of Rama as the King of Ayodhya, and achieve the fruitfulness of your birth and the object of life.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Sri Ramacharitha is the purifier of mind and intellect - Phalashruthi

Chapter – 354– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda– Sri Ramacharitha is the purifier of the mind and intellect - Phalashruthi

The delight of Gadhi race Sage Vishwamithra walked away from the city of Ayodhya, with the heart full of joyous memories, praising the virtues of King Dasaratha and his sons. He fondly recalled the beauty, virtues, and pleasing nature of Rama, the righteousness of King Dhasharatha, the divine wedding took place between Rama and Devi Janaki in Mithila, and the celebrations followed with it. The Sage Vamadeva and Sage Vashishta kept praising the splendor of Gadhi’s son Sage Vishwamithra in the assembly, the King overjoyed upon hearing the matchless deeds of Sage Kaushika, and the merits he has achieved  from the Sage Kaushika as the preceptor of his sons, and the grace of the Sage on his sons to achieve appropriate girls as wedded wives, that day the assembly dispersed with gloominess after the departure of Sage Kaushika,  the King and his sons returned to the palace. Everywhere the people of Ayodhya highly praised the mysterious and valorous deeds of Lord Rama, shortly the fame and glories of Rama diffused in the three worlds, the festivities and the celebrations continued in the city of Ayodhya from the day Rama has returned with Devi Janaki, the people of Ayodhya drenched in extreme bliss, serenity, auspiciousness and happiness have overflown all over the city of Ayodhya, which was beyond description even for Goddess Sarada, the Goddess of speech and thousand headed serpent Adhishesha. The legend of Rama and Devi Sita is the purifier of the soul as well as the purifier of the entire clan, I have immensely blessed to recite the glories of that Lord. It was the mere grace of Lord Sri Ramachadhra that enabled me to describe the splendor of him and thereby sanctify my words, deeds and mind.

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj wrote the glorious legends of Sri Ramacharitha and purified his heart, mind, and deeds. The legend of Rama is a vast ocean, unfathomable which is beyond description and difficult to cross, and none has been accomplished that task.

Whoever reads, write or listens to the glorious myths of Lord Sri Ramachandra, and sing in praise on the auspicious ceremonies of Upanayana/sacred thread ceremony and marriage would achieve perpetual happiness and the grace of Lord Rama and Devi Janaki.

Whoever recite, read or write the marriage of the divine couple Lord Sri Ramachandra and Devi Janaki would achieve perpetual bliss and ultimately attain the abode of Rama.

Thus ends the first Canto/Sopana of Sri Ramacharitha Manas that eradicates all the impurities of Kali era.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – The Queen Mothers approaches Rama with thousands of inquiries on the deeds performed while living in the wood and in the assembly of King Janaka

Chapter – 350– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda– The Queen Mothers approaches Rama with thousands of inquiries on the deeds performed while living in the wood and in the assembly of King Janaka

The Queen Mothers lovingly enquired “Oh! Darling, how did you manage to kill the dreadful demons Mareecha and Subhahu, and their numerous armies of warriors? How did you fight with those wicked demons, without having any experience on the battlefield? It was the perpetual grace of Sage Vishwamithra and the supreme Lord protected you and your brother from all those brutal attacks, and dangers from the woods, may God protect you always. Oh! Dear child, you and your younger brother Lakshman were taken to the woods by Sage Vishwamithra to protect his fire sacrifices from the wicked demons caused troubles to his Yaga, but you have performed various mysterious deeds that were widely known to the world, you have provided liberation to the Gautama Pathni Ahalya, and relieved her from the curse of her husband with the mere dust particles from your lotus feet. The whole Universe is singing in the glory of your deeds, you have broken the unyielding bow of Lord Shambhu in the grand assembly of King Janaka, which was hard as rock and tortoiseshell. Oh! Dear child, you have attained triumph over the world, achieved immense fame with the enigmatic deeds, and received Devi Janaki as a wedded wife, and your brothers were found equally competent brides as a wedded wife, and majestically returned home. Oh! Child, all your deeds seemed to be superhuman, which was successfully accomplished only with the grace of the preceptor, Sage Kaushika, and the Lord. Oh! Dear child, our birth has become prolific we have achieved the fruitfulness of our lives by watching your lustrous face resemble the autumn moon.  Oh! Dear child, the days we have spent in your absence were miserable, even the creator cannot count them.”
