Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “ Oh! Mune, on their way to the hermitage, Maharishi Vishwamithra imparted vast knowledge in Astra and Shastra to Rama and Lakshman, along with the sacred hymns of Bala and Athibala to conquer hunger and thirst, finally they have arrived at the site of hermitages were group of Rishis, sages, and twice-born with their families settled. Rama and Lakshmana were reverentially received by them to the hermitage offered fiber roots and fruits as supper. It was the time-of-day break, the Lord of Raghu appealed the Sages to carry out their rites and fire sacrifices without any apprehension, thus all the Sages assembled and began the grand fire sacrifices which were planned to continue for several days without a break for the welfare of the Universe and its living beings, as an essential part of the rite they have offered various oblations in the sacrificial fire to please the deities, while Rama and Lakshmana safeguarding the hermitage and its surroundings. Soon, the demons Mareecha and Subhahu along with their army demons rushed to the site, with an attempt to disrupt the fire sacrifice, a brutal battle began  with Rama, Lakshman, and the demons, in the process Mareecha was struck with the spear by Rama, that heaved Mareecha to some eight hundred miles away from the seashore, Lakshman destroyed the army of demons, while Rama struck the demon Subhahu with the Agneyasthra, and killed the demon. Thus, Rama and Lakshmana destroyed the entire demons, finally the fear of the twice-born and sages of were eliminated.   The deities and Rishis were highly pleased and showered flowers upon them. Further, Lord of Raghu stayed with the twice-born and the families, in the assembling of Sages for a while, during this period of time, the twice-born and Sages described various legends from scriptures and Veda, with great devotion and enthusiasm, the supreme Lord who is the essence of Veda and scriptures, dutifully listened to them. One day Sage Vishwamithra called for Rama and Lakshman and said “Oh! Raghukula Natha, I have heard about Dhanush Yajja held in the Kingdom of Mithila, we shall proceed to witness it.” Thus, Sage Vishwamithra along with Rama and Lakshman proceeded to Mithila, on their way, they have reached a place where they found a deserted hermitage, no living creatures in the vicinity gave out a strange appearance. Suddenly, Rama noticed a huge rock before the hermitage and enquired the Sage who described the story behind it elaborately.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, King Dhasharatha embraced and kissed the children and entrusted to Maharishi Vishwamithra. The children returned to their mother’s chamber and prostrated before them, and stood with the Sage waiting for his further command. The Paramathma Parambhramam incarnated as Rama and Lakshmana, the lions among the men, the protector of the Universe, essence of wisdom, compassion and virtues, the ultimate cause of the Universe gladly followed the Sage to remove the fear of demons and protect his fire sacrifices. The Supreme Lord Rama who has beautiful eyes resembles blue lotus flower petals, great physique of Thamala Vruksha, charming appearance, attired in yellow silk garment, wrapped in a blue robe on the waist, wielded in bow and arrows, and the one has the appearance of freshly formed dark clouds and the other one has fair complexion followed the Sage Vishwamithra who was immersed in various thoughts “Once again, the supreme Lord has proved himself as the ocean of mercy, beloved of twice-born, leaving his lovely parents and stately pleasures, followed me without any hesitation” thus the three of them proceeded towards the dense woods. Soon the female demon Thadaka of dreadful appearance confronted them with a boisterous roar. Sage instructed Rama to kill her, immediately Lord Rama shot an arrow on her chest and killed Thadaka was achieved liberation. They continued journey through the dense woods, and hiking mountains for several days, on their way, Sage Vishwamithra taught Rama and Lakshmana the sacred hymns of Bala and Athibala to wave off hunger and thirst, to maintain their vigor and physique to fight against enemies.”

Sage Vishwamithra spoke “Oh! Rajan, do not let you overcome by emotions, or ignorance or delusion, kindly allow your children to follow me to the dense wood, I shall take good care of them, and I shall assure you that it will bring all kinds of auspiciousness to them and you will achieve highly meritorious rewards for your righteousness.” The instructions of the Sage Vishwamithra fallen as a loud thunder into the ears of the King, instantly the happiness faded away from his face, felt the Earth is shaking, overcame by grief and spoke in tears “Oh! Mune, I have been blessed with these four children at these latter years of my age, Oh! Prabho, you were too inconsiderate to put forward your command, you could have demanded of the wealth, richness, cows, the Kingdom, and the entire glory, I would have offered with immense pleasure, even ready to give away my Prana which is dear to every creature. Oh! Prabho, all four children are dearer to my life, I can’t live without Rama, I would prefer to give away my life, Oh! Prabho, my children are too young to fight with the fierce demons in the woods.” Sage Vishwamithra listened to the pleas of the King, those were resembled the nectar-like love to his children, seeped into his ears. Soon, Sage Vashishta intervened and instructed the King that the invitation to join with the illustrious Maharishi Vishwamithra would provide his children an abundance of meritorious rewards, and it would bring all the auspiciousness to Rama and Lakshman, thus Sage Vashishta removed all the misapprehension of King Dasaratha. Soon, the children were retired to their mother’s Chamber and prostrated before them and returned to Maharishi Vishwamithra, and the King repeatedly embraced the children, kissed on their forehead, and brought before Sage Vishwamithra and spoke wise words “Oh! Mune, my sons are dear as my life, kindly accept them as your children, and take good care of them, now onwards you are the guardian of the children, and they will sincerely follow your commands.”

Sage Vishwamithra set out to visit the Kingdom of Ayodhya, all his way he has nothing other than to think, contemplating upon the supreme Lord Sri Hari who has incarnated as the beloved son of King Dhasharatha and Devi Kausalya. Finally, Sage Vishwamithra arrived in the city of Ayodhya, took holy dip in the river Sarayu, and moved to the assembly of King Dhasharatha. As soon as the King heard the news of the arrival of Sage Vishwamithra, he rushed on his feet with a group of twice-born to the patio to receive the sage, he reverentially prostrates before him, and received the Sage to the grand assembly, offered him the throne, washed his feet, and amiably spoke “Oh! Mune, I am the most fortunate one today, you have taken great efforts to visit us.” Soon, the King and the queens served a sumptuous meal to the Sage, further they have brought four children before the Sage and prostrated before him. The mere sight of Rama transported the sage into a state of bliss, could not take his eyes off from Rama, Sage fixed gaze on his loveliness, like the Chakora birds stare at the full moon. King Dasaratha was gladdened at heart, requested the Sage “Oh! Mune, kindly reveal the purpose of your visit, how shall I serve you? I am waiting to carry out your commands without any delay.” Sage Vishwamithra looked into the eyes of King Dhasharatha and spoke with a concern “Oh! Rajan, I was conducting Tapasya and austerities with a flock of Sages in the dense woods, unfortunately, there were a large number of demons causing constant impediments to our Yaga procedures, and several of the twice-born were killed and injured by them. I want to take your son Rama to the forest, along with Lakshman. So that I can get rid of the atrocities of the demons, with the help of these two divine children and I can peacefully carry out the austerities and Tapasya.”

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Bhavani, the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam, free from attributes/Vasanas, impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, unblemished, pure, performed all those tasks which provided delight to his parents, preceptors, and his subjects. Oh! Devi, in the meantime, the illustrious Sage Vishwamithra along with a large number of Rishis, Sages, and Mahatmas lived in the dense woods, were performing various austerities, vows, fire sacrifice conducted Japa of Vedic chants, Yoga, and religious and spiritual activities for the welfare of the Universe. Whenever they engage the fire sacrifices the wicked demons Subhahu and Mareecha would appear with their several aids and destroy the fire sacrifice, hovering flesh, bones, the blood of animals in the sacrificial fire, thus constantly received a threat from these demons, hence none of their religious or spiritual practices were taken place successfully. Sage Vishwamithra and noble saints were deeply disturbed by the atrocities of the demons, Sage Vishwamithra pacified himself “The Supreme Lord Sri Hari has taken birth as a human on the Earth, to remove the burden of the Earth, he is the savior of the Universe, I shall visit the Kingdom of Ayodhya, and appeal to King Dhashratha and make him understand the serious issues to be taken care of immediately, and offer salutations to the supreme Bhramam born as the elder son of the King, and  I shall  bring the two brothers to stop the atrocities of the demons, the mere sight of that supreme Bhramam who is the essence of wisdom, virtues, and dispassion would provide nectar-like goodness to my eyes.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, the people of Kosalapuri, women, men, children, and elderly people considered the compassionate Rama dear as their life. He was closely connected with the people of Ayodhya, considered them as his playmates, engage in various sports activities, and go for hunting expeditions with the close-aids and brothers. He would kill the animals only the ones are allowed to hunt were brought before the King, the animals that were hunted by Rama attained liberation instantly.  Rama partake meals with his brothers and close associates, and made the mothers happy, he sincerely followed the orders of his parents, he was the source of the delight of the entire Kingdom. Rama attentively listens to Vedas and Puranas and describes the hidden treasures like the meanings to his younger brothers. He sincerely followed the orders of his parents, preceptors and strictly followed the rites, one of the first things in the morning was reverentially prostrate before parents and preceptors at the time of day-break, and receive their orders and get occupied with the various activities in the Kingdom, he dutifully assisted his father in stately matters and engaged in various activities for the welfare of noble-souls, twice-born and subjects of the Kingdom. King Dasharatha was immensely pleased watching the noble deeds of his son Rama who was sincerely followed by his younger brothers.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, the Sacchidhanandaroopa Paramathma took a seat on the lap of Dhasharatha was too restless, and slipped out of his lap too often, running all over the courtyard with the mouthful of curd rice, that was dribbling out of the mouth. The splendid childhood sports of that supreme Bhramam were highly praised by Goddess Sarada, Adhishesha, Lord Shambhu, and Vedas. The unfortunate Jeeva does not take pleasure in the childhood sport of that Paramathma Parambhramam.   Gradually, the children attained boyhood, the preceptor Vashishta advised the King to arrange the sacred thread ceremony of the four children. Immediately after the sacred thread ceremony, the children were assigned to attend studies on Astra and Shastra under the guidance of family priest Sage Vashishta in his hermitage. In a short period of time, the children had achieved vast knowledge from various branches of studies, thus the supreme Bhramam who is the essence of Veda, Vedanga, Agamashasthras, wisdom, virtues, etc. dutifully attended the studies in the hermitage of Sage Vashishta. During their stay in the hermitage, they enthusiastically engaged in various sports, wielded in bow and arrow, imitating the role of King, etc. The four youths wielded in bow and arrows, attractive limbs and mesmerizing appearance enticed the entire Universe, living and non-living things, whenever they walk on the royal pathways, all the eyes were set on the children, the women and men stood motionless watching the mesmerizing beauty of the youths.”
