Chapter – 128 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The description of incidents took place in the large assembly of King Sheelanidhi

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, there were two Shivaganas disguised as a twice-born taken seat in the assembly of the King, immediately recognized the atrocious facial appearance of Maharishi Narada and thoroughly enjoyed watching it, moved closer to the Sage to have more fun with him. The two Ganas were seated on the same row of the Sage who was already occupied in various thoughts, the two Ganas could not control their laugh watching the unusual look of the Sage, began to speak “The supreme Lord Hari who is the epitome of charm, wisdom, and virtues, had provided a charming appearance to Sage Narada, which is beyond description, hence the princess will not overlook his charisma, definitely, she will adorn the Sage with the Jayamala/garland of flowers.” The Sage overheard the comments of Ganas and rejoiced at heart, he was completely under the spell of Maya, tormented by the cupid of love impatiently waited for the arrival of the princess. The Ganas were thoroughly enjoyed passing sarcastic comments, no one could perceive the monkey-face of Narada except these Ganas in the assembly. Soon, the princess appeared in the grand assembly holding Jayamala in the hands, beautifully walking like a swan with her companions, the moment she reached near Sage Narada, she was taken aback watching the monkey-face of the Sage, thrown a contemptuous look at the Sage and moved forward.”

Chapter – 127 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Lord Hari’s decision to remove the trepidations and distress caused by Harimaya on Sage Narada

Lord Hari spoke pleasantly “Oh! Narada, you are my sincere devotee, I shall do all that good for you, my promise wouldn’t go untrue. Oh! Mune, I have decided to do whatever good for you, a physician will not prescribe a medicine that is harmful to his patients, always seeks the welfare of the patient, even if the patient asks for something poisonous which may sound promising at that moment of crisis.” Thus, Lord Hari disappeared from the sight of Maharishi Narada who was besieged by the Maya, couldn’t get the inner meanings of the dialogue.  Soon Maharishi Narada rushed to the place where the Swayamvara of Vishwamohini was held, found the huge assembly of King Sheelanidhi was decorated in a grand manner, with expensive pieces of the throne, exquisite sculptures, and artifacts, extravagant arrangements for the guests, etc. A large number of Kings and princes from the neighboring countries were already taken seats in the assembly, the arrangements made for the guests were beyond description.  Maharishi Narada took a seat on one of the thrones and thought “My loveliness won’t go unnoticed, definitely the princess would adorn me with the Jayamala, and declare me as a wedded husband. I have achieved the grace of Lord Hari who is the epitome of beauty and virtues.” Everyone greeted the Sage with great respect, alas! the Sage does not know the trick of Mayapathi who had provided an atrocious look to him which was not visible to all.

Chapter – 126 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada tormented by the cupid of Love with a desire to marry the princess Vishwamohini, praying to Lord Hari

Maharishi Narada was completely tormented by the cupid of love, could not contemplate upon the Lord, immersed in various thoughts “How did I influence Vishwamohini who is the epitome of loveliness, fortune, fame, and wealth, to choose me as her wedded husband? How can I impress her? Definitely, she would select the most charming and attractive young one as her wedded husband, but I haven’t possessed any of those qualities in me, how did I achieve the loveliness to persuade her? Whom I could rely on to achieve a charming appearance and a complete transformation in my look? How could I get the Jayamala/garland of the wedding, adorned around my neck? I don’t have the qualities in me to achieve the princes as a wedded wife, hence I should seek help from Lord Hari who is the most charming and compassionate, and I would request him to gift me his loveliness so that I could achieve Vishwamohini in this race. Lord Hari is my beloved Lord; he can’t leave me unnoticed.” Maharishi Narada engaged in meditation praying to Lord Hari, soon Lord Hari appeared before him, Narada felt immensely pleased watching the mesmerizing appearance of the Lord, wished to have the same appearance for him to impress the princess. Maharishi Narada described all that happened to him while returning from Sri Vaikunda and his meeting with King Sheelanidhi and his beautiful daughter Vishwamohi who has stolen his heart. Lord Hari was smiled at heart after listening to the Sage.  Further, Narada pleaded “Oh! Prabho, kindly be gracious to me, offer all your loveliness to me to achieve Vishwamohini as my wedded wife. Oh! Prabho, I am your sincere servant, kindly fulfill my desire.” Lord Vishnu stunned watching the influence of Vishnumaya that put the Sage Narada in deep distress, slowly the compassionate Lord Hari began to speak.

Chapter – 125 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada’s fascination with Vishwamohini, the daughter of King Sheelanidhi

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “ Oh! Mune, King Sheelanidhi and his wife offered obeisance to Maharishi Narada, and introduced his most beautiful daughter to the Sage, and requested “Oh! Mune, kindly makes predictions about the future of one and only daughter of mine.” Maharishi Narada stunned watching at the loveliness of Vishwamohini, soon fallen in love with her, could not take eyes off from her. He gazed at her with yearning, soon regained consciousness, and began to read the lines on her palm, he lost good self, watching the auspicious signs on her face and palm, decided not to reveal whatever he has read, “she would bring good fortune, auspiciousness to the person to whom she married, he would become immortal, honored by the three worlds, become unconquerable”. Maharishi Narada did not reveal the entire facts to Sheelanidhi, all that he predicted were constructed lies. Thus, Narada left the palace of Sheelanidhi, tormented by the cupid of love, intense yearning to get married to Vishwamohini. He returned to his abode, but his mind was full of anxiousness, could not concentrate on meditation, all he wanted to know how to achieve Vishwamohini as a wedded wife, how could he impress the princess to marry him and achieve her as consort. His interest in meditation and contemplation was completely lost, all he could think of the loveliness of the Vishwamohini, and how to achieve her as a wedded wife.”

There was a hundred miles away from the abode of Lord Vishnu Sri Vaikunda, a huge stunning fortress with mesmerizing features, surrounded by numerous fortresses of rich natural beauty, pleasure garden, streams, rivers, and villages came into view before Maharishi Narada. There were several beautiful men and women attired in marvelous garments as if the associates of Devi Rathi and Kamadeva engaged in various tasks. The city was ruled by King Sheelanidhi, resembled Lord Indhra in might, wisdom, and fortune, had huge collections of wealth and possession of horses, elephants, chariots, an army of men. King Sheelanidhi had a beautiful daughter Vishwamohini excels the beauty of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, she is none other than the inseparable Maya of Lord Vishnu, hence her loveliness, wisdom, fortune, and virtues are beyond description. Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Lord Mayapathi decides to remove the self-importance, and arrogance in Maharishi Narada

Chapter – 123 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Lord Mayapathi decides to remove the self-importance, and arrogance in Maharishi Narada

Lord Narayana plainly looked at Maharishi Narada, and whispered to himself “Oh Mune, your delusions, desires, and self-pride has to be removed at the earliest for the welfare of you.” Yet, the compassionate Lord Narayan began to speak pleasantly “Oh! Mune, you are free from the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, your heart is full of wisdom and pure devotion, you are steadfast, and the strict follower of austerities, vows, and celibacy, so cannot be smitten with the pangs of love.” Maharishi Narada reverentially bowed his head and replied “Oh! Prabho, it was the grace of you, I have achieved purity of mind.” Lord Narayan realized that there is a huge tree of self-importance has sprouted in the heart of Narada and it should be destroyed at the earliest before it could harm him and throw him out from the righteous path. The Supreme Lord who is the ocean of mercy decided, “Narada is a sincere devotee of mine, should not be in trouble at any cost, I have to protect him from all the dangers, he has already taken shelter in me, I can’t be away from the promise to my devotees, I have to protect him by all means. I have to uproot the tree of arrogance and pride sprouted in his heart.” Maharishi Narada repeatedly prostrated before Lord Hari and bade farewell to him, soon Lakshmiramana instructed Maya to take good control over Maharishi Narada who was already drenched in arrogance, and self-importance.

Chapter – 122 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada visit the abode of Lord Vishnu to share his success story

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Bharadhwaja, Maharishi Narada was not at all happy with the advice of Lord Mahadeva, he could not keep quiet without sharing his success story with all the deities. The Maya of Mayapathi is so powerful that no Jeeva is free from it, there were several interesting things that took place after this incident. Oh! Mune, no Jeeva is free from the influence of Time and impulsions of Maya of Mayapathi, and no one could change it. Maharishi Narada visited the Bhrama Loka and shared information with his father, Lord Bhrama discouraged Narada to share it with Lord Vishnu. Immediately, Narada left to Vishnu Loka, holding Karathala/chime and Veena singing in praise of Lord Hari. Maharishi Narada arrived in the milky ocean, where the supreme Lord Narayana who is the essence of Veda and Vedanta, resides with his beloved consort Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi. Maharishi Narada was reverentially greeted by Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, and offered a seat to Rishi, the supreme Lord Narayana who symbolizes living and non-living things began to speak pleasantly “Oh! Maharishi, kindly accept my humble Pranams to you, haven’t seen you for a long time.” Maharishi Narada began to explain the Tapasya he had undertaken in the foothills of Himalayas, and his success over Kamadeva as well. Mayapathi smiled at heart, listening to Maharishi Narada, and the Lord Raghupathi who is the Lord of Maya looked at the Sage passively.”
