Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada’s fascination with Vishwamohini, the daughter of King Sheelanidhi

Chapter – 125 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada’s fascination with Vishwamohini, the daughter of King Sheelanidhi

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “ Oh! Mune, King Sheelanidhi and his wife offered obeisance to Maharishi Narada, and introduced his most beautiful daughter to the Sage, and requested “Oh! Mune, kindly makes predictions about the future of one and only daughter of mine.” Maharishi Narada stunned watching at the loveliness of Vishwamohini, soon fallen in love with her, could not take eyes off from her. He gazed at her with yearning, soon regained consciousness, and began to read the lines on her palm, he lost good self, watching the auspicious signs on her face and palm, decided not to reveal whatever he has read, “she would bring good fortune, auspiciousness to the person to whom she married, he would become immortal, honored by the three worlds, become unconquerable”. Maharishi Narada did not reveal the entire facts to Sheelanidhi, all that he predicted were constructed lies. Thus, Narada left the palace of Sheelanidhi, tormented by the cupid of love, intense yearning to get married to Vishwamohini. He returned to his abode, but his mind was full of anxiousness, could not concentrate on meditation, all he wanted to know how to achieve Vishwamohini as a wedded wife, how could he impress the princess to marry him and achieve her as consort. His interest in meditation and contemplation was completely lost, all he could think of the loveliness of the Vishwamohini, and how to achieve her as a wedded wife.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Lord Mayapathi decides to remove the self-importance, and arrogance in Maharishi Narada

Chapter – 123 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Lord Mayapathi decides to remove the self-importance, and arrogance in Maharishi Narada

Lord Narayana plainly looked at Maharishi Narada, and whispered to himself “Oh Mune, your delusions, desires, and self-pride has to be removed at the earliest for the welfare of you.” Yet, the compassionate Lord Narayan began to speak pleasantly “Oh! Mune, you are free from the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, your heart is full of wisdom and pure devotion, you are steadfast, and the strict follower of austerities, vows, and celibacy, so cannot be smitten with the pangs of love.” Maharishi Narada reverentially bowed his head and replied “Oh! Prabho, it was the grace of you, I have achieved purity of mind.” Lord Narayan realized that there is a huge tree of self-importance has sprouted in the heart of Narada and it should be destroyed at the earliest before it could harm him and throw him out from the righteous path. The Supreme Lord who is the ocean of mercy decided, “Narada is a sincere devotee of mine, should not be in trouble at any cost, I have to protect him from all the dangers, he has already taken shelter in me, I can’t be away from the promise to my devotees, I have to protect him by all means. I have to uproot the tree of arrogance and pride sprouted in his heart.” Maharishi Narada repeatedly prostrated before Lord Hari and bade farewell to him, soon Lakshmiramana instructed Maya to take good control over Maharishi Narada who was already drenched in arrogance, and self-importance.

Chapter – 122 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada visit the abode of Lord Vishnu to share his success story

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Bharadhwaja, Maharishi Narada was not at all happy with the advice of Lord Mahadeva, he could not keep quiet without sharing his success story with all the deities. The Maya of Mayapathi is so powerful that no Jeeva is free from it, there were several interesting things that took place after this incident. Oh! Mune, no Jeeva is free from the influence of Time and impulsions of Maya of Mayapathi, and no one could change it. Maharishi Narada visited the Bhrama Loka and shared information with his father, Lord Bhrama discouraged Narada to share it with Lord Vishnu. Immediately, Narada left to Vishnu Loka, holding Karathala/chime and Veena singing in praise of Lord Hari. Maharishi Narada arrived in the milky ocean, where the supreme Lord Narayana who is the essence of Veda and Vedanta, resides with his beloved consort Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi. Maharishi Narada was reverentially greeted by Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, and offered a seat to Rishi, the supreme Lord Narayana who symbolizes living and non-living things began to speak pleasantly “Oh! Maharishi, kindly accept my humble Pranams to you, haven’t seen you for a long time.” Maharishi Narada began to explain the Tapasya he had undertaken in the foothills of Himalayas, and his success over Kamadeva as well. Mayapathi smiled at heart, listening to Maharishi Narada, and the Lord Raghupathi who is the Lord of Maya looked at the Sage passively.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada’s pride over the victory on Kamadeva

Chapter – 121 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada’s pride over the victory on Kamadeva

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, Lord Kamadeva accepted his defeat in great despair, and repeatedly prostrated before Maharishi Narada, and begged for forgiveness. But Maharishi Narada was serene, showed no sign of fury, conversed with him pleasantly. Lord Kamadeva repeatedly prostrated before the lotus feet of Sage Narada, and felt utterly disgraceful of his act, requested permission to leave. Thus, Lord Kamadeva returned to the abode of Lord Indra and explained his failure in creating an impediment to the Tapasya of the Sage and regretted acting on behalf of Indra. All the deities highly praised the austerities of Maharishi Narada and eulogized Lord Hari for his compassion upon his devotees. Maharishi Narada was swollen with pride for his success over Kamadeva with his mere silence because Lord Kamari crushed the pride of Kamadeva by burning him into ashes, the mere thought of his victory over Kamadeva without creating any confusion in the Universe made Narada overproud of his success, wanted to share the very important piece of information with Lord Shiva. The compassionate Lord Mahadeva patiently listened to the description of Maharishi Narada and spoke in a pleasant tone “Oh! Maharishi, I request you not to reveal this success story to Lord Hari, even if he asks to narrate it, kindly cover it up with something else.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Lord Kamadeva fails to disrupt the penance of Maharishi Narada

Chapter – 120 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Lord Kamadeva fails to disrupt the penance of Maharishi Narada

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, the Lord Kamadeva accompanied by the celestial Apsaras arrived in the foothills of Himalaya where Maharishi Narada was immersed in the Tapasya, soon whole the atmosphere got revitalized with the Vasantharithu, suddenly, the trees, plants, and creepers loaded with fresh and rich fragrant flowers, the cool wind added pleasure in the living creatures, Cuckoos, and beautiful birds of various species sang melodiously, the celestial Apsaras Rambha and her associates merrily sported together, singing and dancing to the melodious music. Lord Kamadeva rejoiced at heart, watching the beautiful scene created to distract the Tapasya of Maharishi Narada. Gradually, Lord Kamadeva and his associates made all the attempts to disrupt the Tapasya were failed miserably, Kamadeva felt humiliated, none of his tricks on the Sage was enough to break his meditation.  Can anyone possible cause harm to the devotees of Lord of Lakshmi?”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada’s Tapasya – Lord Indhra invokes Kamadeva to create an obstacle to the Tapasya

Chapter – 119 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Maharishi Narada’s Tapasya – Lord Indhra invokes Kamadeva to create an obstacle to the Tapasya

Lord Shiva replied to Devi Uma “There is no one enlightened or ignorant, it is the discretion of the Supreme Lord, the Jeevas are bound by the Time and deed/sudden impulsions, Jeevas are not independent to act, are solely depend at the will of Lord of Raghu.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Bharadhwaja I shall describe the virtues of Lord Rama, listen to them carefully with utmost devotion. Tulsidas who is an ardent devotee of Lord Raghupathi got freed from the Ahamkara and Mamakara, impurities of the mind, with the constant meditation and contemplation, sung in praise of the glories Sri Ramacharitha. Oh! Mune, Maharishi Narada arrived at the foot of hills of Himalaya, surrounded by the sacred river Ganga, a serene and beautiful place of rich natural beauty. Maharishi Narada was completely absorbed in the divinity of nature, immersed in the meditation at the lotus feet of Lakshmiramana, soon the spell of Dhaksha which caused him to move constantly from one place to another was disappeared. Thus, Maharishi Narada engaged in a trance for several thousand years, as usual, Lord Indra got anxious about the Tapasya of Sage Narada and instructed Kamadeva to create obstacles to Narada’s penance. Lord Kamadeva who is mounted on celestial vehicle fish, accompanied by his celestials appeared before Narada and made all efforts to disrupt the penance. Lord Indra who was drenched in the luxuries of heavenly abode was deeply anxious about the threat to his crown, same as the Jeeva drenched in Ahamkara, Mamakara, ego, pride, jealousy, anger, desire, and lust undergoes constant miseries and grief at the loss of the material matters.”
