Chapter – 54 – Dhoha – 53

Maharishi Yajjavalkhya speaks “Oh! Muni, the compassionate Lord Hari has taken birth as a human for his ardent devotees.  The Supreme Lord Rama born to Dhasharatha and Kausalya in another Kalpa, were Sage Kashyapa and Devi Aditi respectively,  Prabhu was born to this couple and performed various pastimes to purify the Earth. In another Kalpa the demon Jalandhara conquered all the deities, Lord Shambhu entered in a battle with Jalandhara to protect the deities, the battle between Shambhu and Jalandhara continued for several years. The demon Jalandhara was extremely powerful; Shambhu could not win over him due to the powers of his chaste wife.   Thripurari decided to kill him in a deceitful manner for the welfare of the deities, eventually,  the chastity of Jalandhara’s wife was stained, later she came to know about the truth and cursed Lord Hari who amicably accepted her curse.  Later, this demon Jalandhara was born as Ravana in another Kalpa was beheaded by Lord Rama and attained liberation.  Oh! Bharadhwaja Mune, the legends of supreme Lord Hari and his various incarnations was described by the poets in different ways. Once, Maharishi Narada cursed the supreme Lord Hari, and it caused him to take birth as a human on the Earth.”

Goddess Girija was surprised to listen and said “ Oh! Lord, Maharishi Narada is one of the ardent devotees of Lord Vishnu is a highly intelligent one, why did he curse the Lord? What was the sin committed by Ramapathi? Oh! Thripurari, kindly narrate that legend to me. It is completely out of the ordinary that the noble soul like Maharishi Narada besieged with desire.”

Lord Mahadeva smiled at Goddess Bhavani and spoke “Oh! Devi, There is no one intellectual or ignorant; it is the divinity of Lord Raghupathi that works in the individual as ignorant or intelligent.”

Chapter – 53 – Dhoha – 52

The supreme Lord Mahadeva who is Kripanidhi, the enemy of Kamadeva, was extremely pleased with Devi Parvathi and highly praised her and began to speak “Oh! Bhavani, listen to the glorious legend of Ramacharitha Manas, that was narrated by Sage Kakabhushundi was heard by Garuda, I shall narrate that marvelous conversation later, now listen to the most beautiful and divine incarnation of supreme Lord Hari as Lord Rama.  The sacred names, virtues, legends, and incarnations of supreme Lord Hari are endless and beyond comparison. Oh! Uma, I shall make an effort to narrate them according to my intellect, listen to them with intense devotion.”

Lord Mahadeva continues “Oh! Girija, Veda, and scriptures are praised the glorious and sinless incarnations of Lord Hari, it is impossible to describe the reason for the incarnation of the supreme Lord. Oh! Intelligent one, listen to me carefully, Lord Rama is beyond mind, intellect, and word, Oh! Varanane, I shall describe the purpose of the incarnation according to my knowledge, which was described by ascetics, illustrious Sages and Rishis, Veda, and Puranas.  Whenever the threat for Dharma/righteousness increases and the wicked and haughty demons increase on the Earth, whenever endless immoralities takes place, whenever the twice-born, cows, deities, and mother Earth undergoes atrocities of the human, the compassionate Lord Hari incarnates on the Earth and removes the sufferings and miseries of the noble souls. He destroys the wicked demons, reinstate Dharma and deities, and restore the moralities prescribed in the Veda, and spread the eternal truth, is the object of the incarnation of Lord Rama. The saintly, ascetic and noble souls sing in praise of that supreme Lord and cross the unfathomable ocean of worldly existences effortlessly. The Supreme Lord incarnates on the Earth for his ardent devotees, there are several reasons for the birth of Lord Rama, and every incarnation holds utmost importance, I shall narrate one or two of them, listen to them carefully. Oh! Bhavani, Lord Hari had two favorite doorkeepers Jaya and Vijaya, these two brothers took birth in the Asurayoni due to the curse of Sanakadhis.  These two brothers were born as Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu. These two were crushed the pride of Lord Indra, and fought against the deities are well known to the three worlds. Lord Hari incarnated as wild boar/Varaha and killed Hiranyaksha, and took incarnation as half-lion and half-man/Narasimha and killed Hiranyakashipu and reinstated the devotion of his favorite devotee Prahlada. Further, these two brothers were born as powerful Rakshasa Ravana and Kumbhakarnna, they were extremely valorous, conquered the deities.  The Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu who was died previously in the hands of Lord Hari was not attained Mukthi, because they were cursed to born three times on the Earth.”

Chapter – 52 – Dhoha – 51

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi, the Veda eulogizes that supreme Lord  Hari as he does not require feet to walk, ear to listen, performs various Karma without hands, tastes all the ingredients without a face, silent but an excellent orator,  feel the touch without the skin or body, seeing without eyes, smells without the nose, his deeds are beyond description and his glories are endless.  The Supreme Lord Rama is eulogized by Veda and scholars, he is sought after by the illustrious Rishis and sages, he is the son of Dhasharatha, he is Ayodhyapathi, he is the constant companion of his devotees. The people who leave mortal coil in the sacred Kashi attain liberation from the repeated births and suffering by listening to his name. The supreme Lord Raghuvara is my Lord, he is the Lord of all the living and non-living things. He is supreme Lord who resides as a soul in living beings, whoever constantly contemplates upon him would get relieved from their sufferings and sins. Whoever contemplates and meditate upon Lord Rama with intense devotion and faith would cross the unfathomable ocean of worldly existence, like the footprint of cows. Oh! Bhavani, Lord Rama is Paramathma, he is beyond Maya, and therefore your calculation about him is wrong. Whoever uncertain about that supreme Lord Rama would get all their virtues, Gnana, Bhakti, and Vairagya disappear.” Goddess Bhavani’s delusions were disappeared instantly after listening to the supreme preceptor Lord Mahadeva who removes all the darkness of ignorance. Eventually, Devi Parvathi attained intense devotion and faith upon the lotus feet of Lord Rama, thus all her misconceptions about the supreme Bhramam disappeared.

Devi Parvathi got hold of the lotus feet of Lord Mahadeva, with folded hands; she began to speak affectionately “Oh! Bhagavan, my ignorance like scorching heat has disappeared after listening to the cool rays of moon-like your wise words. Oh! Kripalu, you have removed all my misapprehensions, I have understood the real nature of Lord Rama, Oh! Prabho, you have removed all my grief, I am feeling extremely blissful with your grace. I am an ignorant woman, and dull-minded, if you are pleased with me and realizes me as your sincere servant, Oh! Swami, kindly answer my first question 1) why did that supreme Bhramam Lord Hari incarnated as Lord Rama who is eternal, free from afflictions, symbolizes supreme wisdom, and resides as a soul in living beings? Oh! Vrishakethu, kindly describe them in the simplest manner.”

Chapter – 51 – Dhoha – 50

Lord Maheshwara speaks “Oh! Shailaputhri, contemplate upon the lotus feet of Lord Rama and leave all your misconceptions, get rid of the darkness of confusion with the brilliant rays of the legend of Lord Rama. Oh! Parvathi, listen to me carefully, the illustrious Rishis and Sages, sacred scriptures, and Veda describes the Sagunaswaroopa and Nirgunabhramam as not much different from each other.  The Sagunaroopa is conceived out of the intense love and devotion upon the supreme Lord, and the Nirgunabhramam has no appearance and invisible as well. Nirguna Bhramam transformed into Sagunaroopa as the water gets cooled and form ice. The sacred names of Lord Rama remove the darkness of ignorance like the Surya removes the darkness; therefore that supreme Bhramam is free from afflictions as well. He is Sacchidhananda swaroopa who is free from delusion/Maya, or desire like night. He symbolizes supreme brilliance; hence there is no place for the darkness of night in that Lord Rama.  The Jeeva of Mahamoha has the nature of miseries, sorrows, happiness, grief, pride, jealousy, and ignorance.  The Supreme Lord Rama is all-pervasive, he is supreme Bhramam symbolizes eternal bliss; he is Mahaprabhu who is primordial.  The precious jewel of Raghukula is supreme Lord to me, he is Paramathma, who is the source of Universe and its living beings, all those creatures of living and non-living nature emerged out of him, he is the Lord of living and non-living things.” Lord Shiva repeatedly prostrated before that supreme Lord Rama.

Lord Mahadeva continues “ Oh! Devi, The ignorant ones will not understand their flaw, these Mahamohi Jeeva criticizes the supreme Lord Rama like the clouds covered in the sky are misinterpret as the clouds covered the sun. Oh! Uma, the dust storm, fog, rain clouds create dullness in the sky, it does not affect the all-pervasive sky in the same manner the criticisms do not affect the glories of Lord Rama. The sense organs, mind, and intellect, functions in the presence of the supreme soul in the Jeeva. The Ayodhyapathi Rama is eternal, he is the source of brilliance in the Universe, he is the Lord of Maya, and he is a storehouse of virtues and wisdom. Even the non-living things appear are living with the influence of his Maya, like the shells of pearl gives out the appearance of silver, and the illusions create on the sand dune give out the appearance of water, even though these are Maya, it cannot be avoided. The whole Universe and its living beings depend on that supreme Lord Hari. This Universe and all those living and non-living things are his Maya, and the Jeeva soaked in Maya undergoes constant sufferings, unless and until the Jeeva get out of the worldly desires and bondage like a nightmare, the pain caused seemed to be prolonging. Oh! Girja, the supreme Lord Rama who is Kripalu, removes the illusion in the Jeeva and protects from persisting sufferings of worldly existence. He is primordial; he has neither beginning nor end.”

Chapter – 50 – Dhoha – 49

The nature of Jeeva with Mahamoha

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi, the legends of Rama is like Kamadhenu to the listener and reader who takes pleasure in it, and it fulfills all the desires of them. The association with the saintly men and ascetics are like the shrines of deities, therefore who would keep themselves away to listen to it? Oh! Devi, the legend of Rama is a loud clap to drive away all those misconceptions like birds,  Oh! Girirajakumari, listen to them carefully, it is an axe that cut off the evil effects like the Kali era. The various sacred names of Rama, virtues, various legends, people of Ayodhya, and his daily rites are eulogized by Veda. Lord Rama is eternal and changeless, like his legends and virtues and amusements. Seeing your great devotion to Lord Raghuram I shall describe all those to you according to my knowledge that I have heard from various sources. Oh! Uma, all your questions are brilliant, very natural, pleasing to ears, and well praised by the saintly men, I am highly pleased with you. Oh! Bhavani,   I will not agree with your opinion that the Rama who is eulogized by Veda, sought after by the illustrious Rishis and Sages are different from the one you have met in the woods. Oh! Devi those words are uttered by the people who are soaked in worldly matters, non-believers, people who do not take pleasure in the lotus feet of Lord Hari, and people who do not understand the difference of morality and immorality.”

Lord Mahadeva continues “Oh! Devi, the people who pronounce the words against Veda, and misinterpret Vedas are ignorant, dull-minded, blind, unfortunate, these people are soaked in the material well-beings, people, wealth, money, richness, fame, etc, They are lustful, wicked, and extremely cunning natured, have not seen the saintly people and ascetics not even in their dreams, people who do not have the knowledge of gain and loss, these kinds of people take pleasure in the narration of misinterpretation of Veda and scriptures. These people are polluted in all nature, and have no foresight, or belief, they are unfortunate ones how can they take pleasure in the marvelous appearance of Lord Rama? People who do not have the knowledge of Nirguna and Saguna Upasana give endless wrong commentaries on it; these people are drenched in the Maya of that supreme Lord Hari. These kinds of people are insane, haunted by evil spirits, taking pleasure in intoxicating drinks, and never speak of intelligence, therefore people who are soaked in Mahamoha like in worldly matters and bondage, no one should listen to them.”
