Chapter – 54 – Dhoha – 53
Maharishi Yajjavalkhya speaks
“Oh! Muni, the compassionate Lord Hari has taken birth as a human for his ardent
devotees. The Supreme Lord Rama born to Dhasharatha
and Kausalya in another Kalpa, were Sage Kashyapa and Devi Aditi respectively, Prabhu was born to this couple and performed
various pastimes to purify the Earth. In another Kalpa the demon Jalandhara
conquered all the deities, Lord Shambhu entered in a battle with Jalandhara to
protect the deities, the battle between Shambhu and Jalandhara continued for
several years. The demon Jalandhara was extremely powerful; Shambhu could not
win over him due to the powers of his chaste wife. Thripurari
decided to kill him in a deceitful manner for the welfare of the deities,
eventually, the chastity of Jalandhara’s
wife was stained, later she came to know about the truth and cursed Lord Hari
who amicably accepted her curse. Later,
this demon Jalandhara was born as Ravana in another Kalpa was beheaded by Lord
Rama and attained liberation. Oh!
Bharadhwaja Mune, the legends of supreme Lord Hari and his various incarnations
was described by the poets in different ways. Once, Maharishi Narada cursed the
supreme Lord Hari, and it caused him to take birth as a human on the Earth.”
Goddess Girija was surprised
to listen and said “ Oh! Lord, Maharishi Narada is one of the ardent devotees
of Lord Vishnu is a highly intelligent one, why did he curse the Lord? What was
the sin committed by Ramapathi? Oh! Thripurari, kindly narrate that legend to
me. It is completely out of the ordinary that the noble soul like Maharishi
Narada besieged with desire.”
Lord Mahadeva smiled at
Goddess Bhavani and spoke “Oh! Devi, There is no one intellectual or ignorant;
it is the divinity of Lord Raghupathi that works in the individual as ignorant or intelligent.”
Maharishi Yajjavalkya
speaks “ Oh! Bharadhwaja, I shall narrate the endless virtues of Lord Rama,
listen to them with intense devotion, Oh! Tulsidas, leave all your qualms and
pride and worship Lord Raghunatha that could remove the intense fear and anxieties
of worldly existence. There was a beautiful cave near the mount Himalaya, close
to the shores of Devanadhi Ganga. Maharishi Narada was attracted to this
beautiful serene lush land of Himalaya, the presence of the beautiful river and it
great water currents, rich green land surrounded by striking dense wood, roused
the devotion to Lord Ramapathi in him. Soon the curse of Daksha that makes him
not to a stay in a single place for more than a minute got nullified, he engaged
in the contemplation upon Lord Hari, and eventually his purity of mind attained
transcendental state. It created immense trepidation in Lord Devendra, he
called out for Kamadeva and his emissaries. They appeared before Lord Indra,
was ordered to create obstacles to the penance of Maharishi Narada. ”
