Chapter -75 – Dhoha -74
Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh!
Girija, I shall narrate an interesting incident took place, Sage Kakabhusundi
and I was disguised as humans, were taken great pleasure in the city of
Ayodhya, we were soaked in extreme bliss and devotion were roaming around the
pathways of the villages of Ayodhya and watching the happiness of the people.
Whoever has the grace of Lord Rama upon them would understand that glorious and auspicious myth. King Dhasharatha fulfilled all the desires of his subjects on
this occasion; he offered elephants, chariots, horses, gold, cows, diamonds,
and garments, etc. as a charity. The people were extremely satisfied, and all
those people blessed “The Prabhu of Tulasidas and children of Dhasharatha Long
live!”
Thus several days have passed;
King Dhasharatha invited Maharishi Vashishta to name the children. The
Maharishi Vashishta who was reverentially greeted by the King and his wives
took a seat and immersed in meditation for a while and replied “Oh! Rajan, your
children have endless names, and great splendor, I shall pronounce the names
according to my thoughts. Oh! Rajan, Your elder son who symbolizes the ocean of
bliss, happiness, and prosperity, would be known as ‘Rama’ who is the abode of
supreme bliss and provider of happiness to the three worlds. I shall name your
second son as ‘Bharatha’ who will be the ruler of the Universe and develop the
life on the Earth. I shall name your another son as ‘Shathrughna’ who is
eulogized in Veda, mere utterance of his
name would remove the enemies, and I shall name the marvelous child who is
favorite of ‘Rama’ and the source of the existence of the Universe and its
living beings as ‘Lakshman’.” Maharishi Vashishta engaged in
contemplation and continued “Oh! Rajan, your four children are the highest
philosophies in the Veda. Rama is the life of Lord Shiva, he is the wealth of saintly
men and ascetics, he is everything to his devotes, is taking great pleasure in
the various childhood pastimes.” Lakshmana grew too attached to elder brother
Rama and devoted his time to his lotus feet, he was too promising to his elder
brother and considered him as Lord. Bharatha and Shathrughna shared the love
of Lord and servant of Lord. The pair of Rama and Lakshmana was extremely
eye-catching, one has the complexion of dark clouds and another one has a fair
complexion, their mothers would remove the grass and shred it into pieces to
remove evil eyes on their children. These four children were the abode of
beauty, virtues, and humility, and Rama was the ocean of bliss. His marvelous
smile resembles the luster of the moon, he took a seat on his mother’s lap sometimes
on the cradle, in this way Devi Kausalya showered boundless love and devotion
to her child, took great pleasure on that little child. The supreme Lord Hari who is free from Maya,
unblemished, beyond the Trigunas, omnipresent and absolute Bramam took shelter
on the lap of Devi Kausalya due to her intense devotion.
