Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Rama pacifies Bharatha "whoever blames Bharatha would not achieve auspiciousness, their generation would perish and whoever blames Devi Kaikeyi would not achieve the assemblage of preceptor and saintly people.”

Chapter – 257– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Rama pacifies Bharatha  - “Whoever blames Bharatha would not achieve auspiciousness, their generation would perish and whoever blames Devi Kaikeyi would not achieve the assemblage of preceptor and saintly people.”

Bharatha continues “The fate did not inflict pain on the son of sinful Devi Kaikeyi who consider Rama, Lakshman and Devi Sita as her hostile.” Listening to the words of wisdom, love, devotion, and prudence of Bharatha, the people of assembly plunged into deep sorrow and agony, as if the bed of lotus flowers battered by frost. The Sages pacified Bharatha with the various legends from the scriptures, the delight of the Raghu clan Lord Rama spoke wise words appropriate for the situation “Oh! Dear Bharatha, you feel humiliated for no reason, even after knowing that fate is not in the hands of Jeeva, it is dispersed by the Almighty Lord. Oh! Dear darling, the noble souls of three worlds in the past, present, and future are incomparable to you. Oh! Dear brother, whoever keeps hatred against you in their hearts will get ruined, and their generations will perish, and whoever blames Devi Kaikeyi for the mishaps in our lives won’t achieve the gathering of the preceptors or saintly men and ascetics.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha shed tears of grief for the troubles caused in the life of Rama, Lakshman, and Devi Sita

Chapter – 256– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha shed tears of grief for the troubles caused in the life of Rama, Lakshman and Devi Sita

Bharatha spoke in tears “In this assembly of noble souls and preceptors, and before my Master the Lord of Raghu and in this holy land, all I have spoken the words of truth. Whatever I have spoken were with the great love to my beloved Lord and preceptors who are the knower of all. The Universe is the witness to my mother’s wicked plans and the death of our father happened due to the pain of separation from Rama. The Queen mothers are in extreme distress, no one can bear to look at them, and the men and women of the city of Ayodhya are in utter grief of desolation. I understand that I am the root cause of all the evils, and endured all the sufferings. My beloved brother Rama, attired in saffron robes left the city of Ayodhya along with Devi Sita and Lakshman, proceeded to the woods not even wearing the foot cover, Lord Shankara is the witness I have survived from that grief too. I have witnessed the love and devotion of Nishadharaj Guha, my heart is harder than rock refused to break even after seeing all that, I think I will continue to live with all those sufferings and grief for a long time.  What would I say, even the venomous serpents and scorpions famous for their anger would move away at the mere sight of Rama, Lakshman and Devi Sita.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha admits his bad luck and seeking the grace of Rama and Devi Sita

Chapter – 255– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha admits his bad luck and seeking the grace of Rama and Devi Sita

Bharatha spoke in tears “Oh! Prabho, I have never opened up my thought due to my affection and respect to my beloved brother, you already know it, and my love to be with him and cherish his marvelous appearance have not satiated till date. Unfortunately, fate could not bear to watch the affection between us, my mother structured a plan so as to create a space between us, it is not fair to speak about it and portrait me as sinless and unblemished, even though the shell produce pearls, my bad luck shoved me into the ocean of grief and sufferings, without the knowledge of my own sins and flaws I have tormented my mother. I am mentally worn out, hence there is only one hope for my survival, that is my preceptors and my Master Lord of Raghu’s and Devi Sita, I presume with their grace all would be good and beneficial for all.”

Chapter – 254– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha praises the love, kindness, and compassion of Rama

Sage Vashishta spoke to Bharatha “Oh! Dear child, get rid of your anxiousness and grief, open your heart before your beloved brother Rama who is the ocean of mercy, kindness.” Bharatha understood whatever uttered by the preceptor was the exact opinion of Rama, he was glad at heart to know that the preceptor and his elder brother are promising to him, he was also recognized that the entire responsibility to convey his heart’s decision was on his shoulder, once again Bharatha became silent, searching for words appropriate for the moment, time, and situation. Bharatha stood with folded hands before Rama, tears of love running down the cheeks, words stuck in his throat, began to speak “Oh! Prabho, our preceptor has already conveyed my messages to you, I have nothing else to put forward, I know the disposition of my Master Lord of Raghu, he is most promising even to his enemies, he is too kind and affectionate to me always, I have not seen my brother angry even during the childhood pastimes, I have not left the shadow of my beloved brother during the childhood and he has never discouraged me not a single time. I have thorough knowledge about the love of my beloved brother, he has always been given the opportunity to win over him.”

Chapter – 253– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Rama praises the devotion and pure love of Bharatha

Sage Vashishta spoke “Oh! Rama, listen to the proposal of Bharatha thoroughly and do whatever you feel, think over the opinion of worldly point of view and holy men, and you are wise and have in-depth knowledge of Rajadharma/political science, and opinion of Vedas and scriptures, consider all these before reaching any conclusion.” Rama knowing the devotion, love, virtue of Bharatha who is completely devoted to him by word, thought, and deed, began to speak sweet and delightful words, which could bring peace to Bharatha, preceptors, and the people of Ayodhya “Oh! Prabho, I promise on my father, and I shall speak the truth that there is no brother who is devoted like Bharatha in this Universe. Those who are devoted at the lotus feet of preceptor are highly fortunate, eulogized by the Vedas. Bharatha has won over your hearts, so how can I eulogize the fortune of Bharatha? he’s my younger brother, I find words are little to praise him, I am certain that whatever he desires in heart would be for the beneficial to all.” Rama paused for a while looking at the Sage.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Sage Vashishta admits that Bharatha’s love and devotion has stolen the heart of the Sage

Chapter – 252– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Sage Vashishta admits that Bharatha’s love and devotion has stolen the heart of the Sage

Sage Vashishta spoke passionately “Oh! Rama, you are that supreme Bhramam personified as the son of Dhasharatha and Devi Kausalya, you are all-pervasive Bhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, you are the knower of all, hence tell me which way you can make the subjects of Ayodhya, Bharatha and your mothers benefited at this moment. The distressed Jeeva can’t speak the appropriate words with forethought, like the gambler.” Lord of Raghu began to speak thoughtfully “Oh! Prabho, the remedies for all the troubles lies in your hands, I am certain that everyone would be benefited from your decision, and whoever obediently carries out your commands would achieve the desired results. Oh! Prabho, command me, I am all ready to carry out your instructions I shall follow them sincerely, the orders of the preceptor will not be ignored to achieve perpetual blessings.” Sage Vashishta spoke “Oh! Rama, you are wise, your words are absolutely true, but Bharatha’s love has stolen my heart. That’s why I am here, Bharatha’s pure love and devotion at your feet have completely taken away my heart, let Lord Shambhu stands as witness, do whatever Bharatha desires for the welfare of all, it would do good to all.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha, preceptors and assembly of Ministers meets Lord Sri Ramachandra

Chapter – 251– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha, preceptors and assembly of Ministers meets Lord Sri Ramachandra

Bharatha spoke fervently “Oh! Mune, Lord Rama is the supreme Bhramam/Purusha and Devi Sita is inseparable from that Bhramam, she is all-pervasive Prakrithi, are omniscient/Antharyami, resides as a soul in the Jeeva, knower of all, omnipresent and the essence of the wisdom of and knowledge. Oh! Prabho, kindly do something promising to all.” The Sage Vashishta and the people assembled were highly pleased with the nectar-like words full of wisdom, devotion, pure love at the lotus feet of Rama, transported to a state of ecstasy. Bharatha’s devotion resembled the ocean of devotion and the advice of the Sage represents the wooden log to protect the Jeeva sinking in the miseries of worldly existence, so as to float on the ocean of devotion without the help of a ferry. Bharatha’s glory is beyond description, will it be possible to describe the beauty of the ocean filled with aquatic animals, seashells of various nature? Everyone assembled before the Sage was highly pleased with the speeches of Bharatha, further they proceeded to the hermitage of Rama. Sage Vashishta and Vamadeva were received with great honor, Rama prostrated before the Sages, and offered a sanctified seat for them, after receiving permission from the Sages, Rama took a seat on the floor. The illustrious Sage Vashishta began to speak the words appropriate for the time and situation. “Oh! Rama, listen to me carefully, you are omniscient, wise, and storehouse of virtues.”
