Sage Bhrihaspathi spoke “Oh! Lord Indra, never harbor thoughts of infusing afflictions to the devotees of Lord Rama, the mere thought of ill to the devotees of Rama would bring sin and endless grief to you. Oh! The King of deities, listen to me, devotees are dear to Rama, he gets highly pleased with the worship of his devotees, and do not bear the hostility towards his devotees even though the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam reside as a soul in the Jeeva is pure, unblemished, free from afflictions, has neither birth nor death, free from changes, it is eternal bliss. Fate is unconquerable and it is the ruling factor of Jeeva, whoever sows the goodness reap the fruit of it, and whoever sows the evilness reap the fruit of the same. Oh! Lord Indra, the all-pervasive Bhramam who is pure and free from impurities and affliction, has assumed the form of a human for the welfare of his devotees. Lord Rama is highly propitious to his devotees, the Veda and scriptures eulogize his splendor, the Saints, and Rishis have experienced the kindness and compassion of that Lord. Oh! Indra, leave your animosity against Bharatha who is love personified, and cherish the love and devotion of Bharatha at the lotus feet of Lord Rama.”

Chapter – 211– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Sage Bhrihaspathi advises Lord Indra to leave his scheme to create an obstruction to Bharatha’s visit to Rama

Lord Indra spoke “Oh! Prabho, Lord Rama is scrupulous by nature, can be easily attainable with pure love and devotion, and Bharatha is the ocean of love personified on the Earth. We have to make sure that the purpose of Rama’s exile to the forest, in order to vanquish the demons, should not get postponed, therefore we have to conceive a plan to protect the purpose of Rama’s exile for the welfare of deities and noble souls.” The deities and preceptor Bhrihaspathi smiled at heart, thinking that after obtaining thousands of eyes Lord Indra is blind, did not win over the Maya of Mayapathi. Sage Bhrihaspathi spoke “Oh! Lord Indra, if anyone harms the devotees of Lord of Maya, Mayapathi, it would hit back the person mercilessly. Oh! King of deities, you must have known the approach of Lord Hari, if anyone scheme against his devotees would meet disaster. Lord of Lords Sri Ramachandra is kind and compassionate to all, he does not get angry on Jeeva who ill-treats him, but he cannot bear treacherous act against his sincere devotees, it would devour the person with the fire like his wrath.  The legend of King Ambareesha, and Sage Dhurvass is known to the world, it was highly eulogized in Veda and scriptures as well. Bharatha gets highly pleased to the devotees of Rama, and vice versa, the world pronounces the sacred name ‘Rama’, that supreme Bhramam repeats the name ‘Bharatha’.”
