Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, Rama, and Lakshman who are the bliss personified, with marvelous appearances and attractive limbs, the beautiful curly hair locks were partially wrapped with a striking robe, got the eyes of onlookers. The people of Mithila came to know that these two princes have arrived to have a glimpse of the city, women, and men rushed on their feet, leaving their work, families, elderly, and children behind as if the Pauper rushes after the treasure. They overwhelmed watching the mesmerizing beauty from the toe to head of the two princes, achieved the fruitfulness of their eyes. The women and young maidens stood on the terrace, bay windows, and balconies of their homes to have a glimpse of these two charming princes, and drank the beauty of the lovely youths with their eyes. The women conversed with each other in extreme joy “Oh! Friends, these two princes have stunning appearances which excelled thousands and crores of Manmatha, and even the deities, Gandharvas, Kinnaras, Yaksha, Naga, etc. cannot surpass the attractiveness of these two youths. Lord Bhrama has four faces, Lord Vishnu has four arms, and Lord Shiva is attired in animal skins and holds dreadful weapons. Oh! Friends, these two youths have possessed immense loveliness, are beyond comparison and description.”

Chapter – 212– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda– Rama and Lakshman’s tour to the city of Mithila

 

Maharishi Vishwamithra spoke affectionately “Oh! Dear Children, you are the bliss personified, have a pleasant journey through the city and come back, let the people of Mithila achieve the benefit the auspicious and most charming appearance of both of you and remain blessed.” The two brothers prostrated before the Sage and set out their journey to the city of Mithila, seeing the two-charming youth with great effulgence walking on the pathways, many children accompanied them, kept looking at the beauty of Rama and Lakshmana in awe. The Supreme Lord Rama who has a dark blue complexion, attractive physique, charming face, ears adorned in magnificent earring, wide and long eyes resembled blue lotus flower petals, conch shaped neck, strong shoulder, wide chest adorned in various pearl ornaments, armlet, Kankan, waist ornament, wielded in bow and arrow, attired in marvelous yellow silk garment, and a blue robe draped on the waist was walking along with Lakshman who has fair complexion, attractive limbs, great stature, adorned in ornaments, and wielded in bow and arrow. The compassionate grace of that Lord is capable to remove the Thribidha Thapa/Adhidheivik, Adhibhauthik, and Adhyathmik of the Jeeva, the two brothers were beautifully smeared in vermilion and sandalwood paste on their lustrous forehead, the onlookers were assembled in huge numbers to watch the mesmerizing beauty of these two youths.

Chapter – 211– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda– Rama expresses his willingness to fulfill his brother Lakshmana’s desire to witness the glory of the city of Mithila to Maharishi Vishwamithra

 

The jewel of the clan of Raghu, Lord Rama and Lakshman partook meals with the Rishis, Sages, and twice-born assembled, after that Rama joined with his brother and spend the remaining half of the day with him. Lakshman developed a desire to watch the glory of the city of Kingdom of Janaka, but he was reluctant to share with his brother, in front of Rishis Vishwamithra. Rama could read the mind of his brother, decided to fulfill his desire. Rama approached his preceptor in his chamber and spoke courteously “Oh! Guro, Lakshman longing to see the splendor of the city of Mithila, he is afraid of revealing it to you, if you permit, I would like to take him to the city and return shortly.” Rishis Vishwamithra was highly pleased and spoke “Oh! Rama, you are the strict follower of Dharma. Oh! Thatha, you have possessed great respect and manners, you are the source of happiness and welfare to Jeeva, you have always been kind and compassionate to your devotees.”

Chapter – 210– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda– King Janaka raptured in Bhramanandha states the two youths resembles Paramathma/super soul and Jeevathma/individual soul to him.

 

Maharishi Vishwamithra spoke “Oh! Rajan, these two youth are the Raghukulamani/jewel of Raghu clan, are the sons of King Dasaratha. These two noble youths are Rama and Lakshman is the essence of virtue, beauty, wisdom, and courage, protected my fire sacrifices from the impediments of fierce demons in the woods.” King Janaka prostrated again at the feet of Sage and spoke “Oh! Prabho, it was the piousness of my previous births I could meet you all.  These two attractive youths, one in dark cloud complexioned and another one in the fair are delight personified, beyond description, are inseparable and truly affectionate to each other. Oh! Prabho, these two youths resemble the supreme Bhramam and the Jeevathma/individual soul/ to me.” King Janaka gazed at Rama and Lakshman for a long time, his bodily hairs stood upright in enthusiasm, heart overwhelmed with extreme joy. Thus, King Janaka along with Sage Vishwamithra, Sages, and twice-born returned to his palace, as soon as the arrival of honorable guests, a stunning fortress was arranged for their stay, all the guests were lodged to the marvelous fortresses, King Janaka after paying obeisance and service to the Sages and twice-born/Bhramins returned to his palace.

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “ Oh! Mune, King Janaka regained his normal self, prostrated again and again at the lotus feet of the Sage Vishwamithra, and began to speak in a voice choked in emotions “Oh! Mune, Oh! Prabho, who are these charming youths? Are they from the clan of illustrious Rishis or Sages, or from the clan of royals? Or is that supreme Bramham eulogized as ‘Na: Ithi, Na: Ithi’ by Veda has taken birth as lovely youths? I am so thrilled and raptured in a state of extreme bliss watching these attractive youths, like the pairs of Chakora gets delighted watching the full moon. Oh! Prabho, kindly introduced me to the youths who have driven me into a state of supreme ecstasy, kindly allow me to know the whereabouts of the youths who are capable to provide Bhramanandham.” Sage Vishwamithra answered with a smile “Oh! Rajan, you have spoken wise words, your words never go untrue, he is the source of delight to the Universe and its living beings, hence all are beloved of these youths. These two charming youths are the jewel in the clan of Raghu's, sons of the illustrious King Dhasharatha of the Kingdom of Ayodhya. They have followed me to the woods to carry out a few major tasks.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, King Janaka came to know that the illustrious Rishi Vishwamithra, and a group of saints, Rishis and twice-born halted in the garden on their way to the city of Mithila. Shortly, King Janaka, with his family priest Shathanandha, illustrious Sages and a group of twice-born were followed by King’s men arrived on the spot where Maharishi Vishwamithra has taken shelter. King Janaka reverentially prostrated Sage Vishwamithra, and the Sage blessed him and enquired about the welfare of his subjects. Further, King Janaka prostrated before the illustrious Sages and twice-born enquired their welfare and revealed his joy to meet them all. Sage Vishwamithra offered a seat to the King and they began to converse each other, at that moment Lord of Raghu, Rama, and Lakshman entered after a short visit to the pleasure garden, one in dark cloud complexioned and another one in fair complexion, both of them were extremely charming, great physique, lovely limbs, and pleasant natured. The two youths were spending pleasing time in the garden, returned to the preceptor, their eyes were shone in extreme delight had great effulgence, King Janaka looked at the attractive youths, could not take his eyes off from them. Rama and Lakshman reverentially prostrated before them and took a seat beside the Sage, all those presented were greeted the two youths, raised from their seats and wished, the people accompanied the King Janaka was rejoiced watching the mesmerizing beauty of the two youths, soon their bodily hairs stood upright in joy, tears running down the cheeks fixed their gaze at the loveliness of them, and the King Janaka who was seated in front of the Rishi Vishwamithra was exported to a state of bliss watching the most attractive youths of the illustrious Raghu clan.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Bharadhwaja, the splendor of the city of Mithila was incomparable, there were stunning white fortresses decorated with precious gems, and the palace where Devi Janakanandhini lived was beyond description, the pathways to the fortresses were spectacular, there were assembling of princes, king’s men, warriors, and the entertainers of the palace. There were huge stables for the horses, stalls for the elephants, and storehouses for the chariots, and armaments. King Janaka had a huge army of men and ministers, and there were beautiful fortresses for all those King’s men, there were stunning mansions in the countryside for the princes to take pleasure in the rich natural beauty. Sage Vishwamithra noticed a beautiful garden filled with mango trees loaded with ripened mango fruits, revealed his desire to relax in the garden for a while before entering into the city, the compassionate Lord Raghunatha replied courteously “Yes my Lord, as you wish” thus all those twice-born and Sages accompanied were halted in the beautiful garden. The King of Mithila received the news of the arrival of Sage Vishwamithra with the hermits and twice-born settled in the pleasure garden.”
