Chapter – 69– Sri Ramacharitha Manas –
Ayodhya Kanda– Devi Kausalya blesses Devi Sita ‘May long live your virtues and devotion
to your husband, as the sacred rivers, Ganga and Yamuna flows on the
Earth’
Devi Kausalya began to speak with tears
“When I shall achieve the most pleasing moment to address you as ‘Dear child’
Lord of Raghu ‘Chief of Raghu clan’, and get an opportunity to embrace you and
gaze at your attractive beautiful limbs?” Devi Kausalya was besieged with the grief of
separation, at that moment, Lord of Raghu approached his mother and spoke
soothing words to remove her sorrow, soon Janakanandhi prostrated at the lotus
feet of mother-in-law and spoke to her in a sweet tone “Oh! Dear mother, I am
unfortunate to serve you on the occasion you deserved to be taken care of, the
fate has abandoned that opportunity to me by throwing me out of your sight in
the woods. Oh! Mother, do not worry about us, in the meantime do not stop
showering your blessings and affection on us. It was the fate that separated us; it
was no one’s fault.” Devi Kausalya became inconsolable listening to the
compassionate words of Devi Sita, she embraced Sita again and again and shed
tears of grief, and blessed her “May long live your virtues and devotion to your husband, as the sacred river Ganga and Yamuna continue to flow on the
Earth.”
