Chapter – 114– Sri Ramacharitha Manas –
Ayodhya Kanda– The pure love and devotion of the people who have met Rama, Devi
Sita and Lakshman on their way
The clouds protected the Lord from the
scorching heat of the Sun, the deities showered flowers on Rama, Lakshman and
Devi Sita, and admiringly watched Lord Rama walking on the Earth, showering compassionate
grace at the mountains, hills, birds, animals, etc. Whenever they cross the
village, the villagers assemble in large numbers including the elderly people
leaving their household duties, and earnestly behold the beauty of Rama, Lakshman
and Devi Sita achieved the fruitfulness of their lives, felt relieved from all
grief and pain of worldly existence/Bhavadhukha/Samsaradukha. They were stood
motionless, mesmerized in a state of ecstasy, tears overflowing, which is difficult
to describe, like the pauper stumbled upon the pile of Chinthamani/precious
jewel. Moreover, they have invited their friends and relatives to achieve the
reward of their eyes, some of them could not take away their eyes from the
couple, hence they followed them to a fair distance, and others perceived the marvelous
image of Rama Devi Sita and Lakshman, through the doors of their eyes, safely installed
the image in their hearts and locked it, they were won over by word, mind, and
deed.
