Chapter – 140– Sri Ramacharitha Manas –
Ayodhya Kanda– The life of Lord Rama in the woods
The devotees of Lord Rama with their constant
meditation, extreme austerities, Tapasya, Shamadhamadhi, and contemplation at the lotus feet of Lord get rid of interest in
worldly matters and bondage, like straw. Therefore, it is not a surprising
thing, Devi Sita, Jagathjanani Paramba Bhagavathi, the mother of the Universe,
beloved consort of Rama got rid of interest in the stately pleasures and family
at ease. The Lord of Raghu spoke and act only the things which were pleasing to
Devi Sita and Lakshman. Rama describes various legends from the scriptures to
Devi Sita and Lakshman, and they would listen to it delightfully, whenever Rama
thought of the city of Ayodhya, his eyes were welled up in tears. Whenever Rama
thought of his parents, stepmothers, and brothers, his eyes were overflown with
tears, the most pleasing moments shared with the family members, particularly,
the amiability and devotion of Bharatha, soon he recovers from the grief at the
thought of inauspicious hours prevailed in the family. Devi Sita and Lakshman
feel extremely distressed watching the pain and grief of Rama, as if the shadow
of the substance, seeing Devi Sita and Lakshman in agony, the compassionate Lord
Rama regains his real nature, and describe various legends from the scriptures
to makes them cheerful, in this way, Lakshman and Devi Sita regained their
happiness.
