King Dhasharatha wept bitterly calling out for “Oh! Ram Oh! Ram Oh! Rama” again and again, and left his mortal coil at the pain of separation from Lord of Raghu, Rama and attained the abode of deities, thus the King reaped the reward of his life as well as death. Soon the news of the demise of King Dhasharatha spread across the fourteen worlds, and everyone praised the King, as long as he breathed looking at the loveliness of Rama and eventually shed his mortal coil at the pain of separation from his beloved son Rama, thus King Dhasharatha attained fruitfulness of his life while living and the afterlife as well. The grief-stricken queens praised the glory of the King, his virtues, majesty, might, and amiable manners, they were inconsolable, wept bitterly throwing them on the ground. The men and female servants, attendants wailed in deep anguish, the entire city mourned at the death of Lord of Raghu, they lamented “Today is the sunset of the Lord of Raghu who is the essence of righteousness, virtues, and wisdom”. The subjects of the kingdom cursed Devi Kaikeyi who has brought disaster to their world and stolen their happiness. The people in the palace and Ayodhya continued to mourn till the arrival of the hermits and enlightened ones.
