Chapter - 13– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara
Kanda – The grand coronation ceremony of Lord Sri Ramachandra – Vedas assumed the form of Vandhiganas praising the
splendor of Rama and Devi Janaki
The deities and Sages engulfed in extreme
bliss watching the coronation ceremony of Lord Sri Ramachandra, the sky has reverberated with the sounds of divine instruments played by the celestials and
Kinnaras, the celestial dancers performed marvelously to the tune. Bharatha,
Lakshman, Angadha, Sugrivah, Vibheeshana, Hanuman, and the rest of the Vanaras
shone beside Lord Sri Ramachandra and Devi Janaki, holding Chowries, umbrellas,
fan, bow, sword, spear and shield, etc. Devi Mahalakshmi seated next to the Lord
Sri Ramachandra excelled the beauty of several Manmathas and Devi Rathi. Lord
Rama has beautiful eyes resemble blue lotus flower petals, strong shoulders, and arms, conch shaped neck, broad chest, charming dark cloud complexioned
limbs, adorned in various ornaments such as a magnificent crown, armlets,
bangles, fish-shaped ear ornaments, and ornaments on the neck, chest, waist,
and ankle, attired in yellow silk garments, captured the souls of the deities, Rishis, and Sages. Whoever witnessed the marvelous form of supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra
along with Devi Janaki are the fortunate ones.
Sage Kakabhusundi speaks “Oh! Garuda, the
beauty of the divine couple, the uniqueness of the assembly of Ayodhya, and the
delight on the occasion of the coronation ceremony of Lord Rama was beyond
description, even though Goddess Saraswathi, the thousand tongued Adhishesha,
and Veda took an effort to describe them all, but the grandeur of the ceremony
was known only to Lord Shambhu. All the deities eulogized Lord Rama and Devi
Janaki and returned to their respective abodes, then the Vedas assumed the form
of Vandhigans and eulogized the grandeur of the Lord. The all-pervasive Bhramam
personified as Lord Sri Ramachandra received each and every guest with great honor
and no one know the mystery behind it.
The Vedas disguised as Vandhiganas sang in
praise of the Lord –
“Hail Lord Sri Ramachandra who has Nirguna
and Sagunaswaroopa ! Hail Lord Seethapathi who has incomparable beauty! Hail
Mayapathi who is free from Maya and her attributes! Oh! Prabho, you have

your lotus feet which is worshiped by lotus born Bhrama, Lord Shiva, deities,

Ahalya, Gauthamapathni, whose feet brought the celestial river Ganga on the
Earth which was adorned on the matted hair locks of Lord Shambhu, highly revered
by the Sages and Rishis, thus the Mahanadhi Ganga known as the purifier of
three worlds, whose lotus feet is adorned in the divine symbol of conch, spear,

divine tree of the Universe, the unmanifest Bhramam as the root of the tree,
and the Vedas, Agamashasthras, as the stem, and auxiliaries of the Vedas as
several branches on it, the fruits of bitter and sweet as Samsara, abundant of fresh
leaves and flowers. Oh! Prabho, we shall eulogize the Sagunabhramam personified
