Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha reveals his earnest desire to perform the coronation of Rama as the King of Ayodhya

Chapter – 262– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha reveals his earnest desire to perform the coronation of Rama as the King of Ayodhya

Bharatha spoke fervently “Oh! Prabho, you are that divine tree Kalpatharu that is capable to relive all the fears and anxieties of the Jeeva, whoever stays close under the shade of it would achieve all that desired without even asking for it. All my worries and fears have disappeared after perceiving the kindness of my preceptors and Lord of Raghu, now I am completely free from perplexities. Oh! Karunakara, kindly take a decision that won’t disturb your vows and promises to our father, do not put yourself in trouble for your servant. A sincere servant never push his Master in trouble to achieve personal gain, if so, he is wicked, an ideal servant abandons all his comforts and greed and serves his Master relentlessly. Oh! Prabho, if you leave the forest and return to Ayodhya everyone would be extremely delighted, on the other hand, if we sincerely obey your orders, we shall achieve an abundance of propitiousness.  Oh! Prabho, if we obediently follow your orders, we would achieve spiritual as well as material gain. Oh! Prabho, kindly listen to my request and decided whatever you feel appropriate at this moment. Oh! Prabho, I have brought all those requisites for the coronation ceremony of you, kindly allow us to perform the rite if it pleases you.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha eulogizes the kindness and compassion of Rama

Chapter – 261– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha eulogizes the kindness and compassion of Rama

Bharatha spoke with folded hands “Oh! Prabho, Lord of Devi Sita, Sithapathi has done an abundance of grace and auspiciousness to me, he is the ocean of compassion, and knower of all. My preceptor and my Lord Sri Ramachandra are most promising to me; thus, I have got rid of all my anxiousness and grief with their blessings. I was spending days of extreme fear and distress, it was my ill fortune that added up my mother’s deceitful act and the cruelty of the fate ruined my peace of mind. Oh! Prabho, Lord of Raghu, you are Pranathapala/protector of distressed Jeeva, though it is not a new thing for you, the Veda highly eulogizes your kindness and compassion to Jeeva. Oh! Prabho, even if the whole world may go against me, your grace is enough to protect me from all the troubles. Oh! Prabho, you are that divine Kalpatharu/wish-fulfilling tree in the celestial abode of Indra, nothing can be accomplished without your grace.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha realizes that his welfare and goodness lies in sincerely following the instructions of Rama

Chapter – 260– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha realizes that his welfare and goodness lies in sincerely following the instructions of Rama

The preceptor of the deities Sage Bhrihaspathi spoke “Oh! Deities, Good luck to all of you. The devotion at the lotus feet of Bharatha is the source of all the auspiciousness. The service at the lotus feet of Lord Sitapathi is as propitious as service to hundreds of Kamadhenu/the wish-fulfilling divine cow. You have chosen to worship the devotee of Lord Rama; therefore, your tasks will get accomplished without any doubt. Oh! Lord Indra, the Lord of Raghu is highly pleased with the pure love and devotion of Bharatha, hence he is most favorable to Bharatha, always remember that Bharatha is the shadow of Rama, hence the worship of Bharath would remove all your anxiousness and fear.” The Lord of Raghu who is the Paramathma Parambhramam, knower of all perceived that the deities and Sage Bhrihaspathi are uneasy, eventually, Rama felt uncomfortable watching the suffering of the deities. Now Bharatha felt that all the responsibilities all on his shoulder, though he was planned to entrust all those to his elder brother, finally he made up his mind that his goodness and welfare is vested in following the orders of Rama who is strict to his vows, he once again remembered with tears Rama has shown so much of kindness and love to his brothers.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda –The deities gets anxious watching Rama's love for Bharatha

Chapter – 259– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– The deities gets anxious watching Rama's love for Bharatha

Rama spoke “Kindly suggest to me what to do, I shall follow your orders with a delightful heart and accomplish your tasks.” The assembly of people of Ayodhya rejoiced at heart, listening to the nectar-like words of Lord of Ragu who is true to his promises. Lord Indra and the deities felt anxious listening to the speeches of Lord of Raghu, thinking that the very purpose of the incarnation of Lord Hari as the son of Dhasharatha for the welfare of the Universe is going to get disturbed, they heartily pray to Lord of Raghu for protection, they remembered the nature of that supreme Bhramam who is always under the captivation of his devotees. Lord Indra remembered the legend of Ambareesha who is an ardent devotee of Lord Hari and Sage Dhurvasa, it pushed him into extreme distress. In the past, the deities were harassed by Hiranyakashipu for a long time, and finally the supreme Lord Hari incarnated as Nrisimha at the invocation of his devotee Prahlada. The deities were distraught, whispered to each other “The deities welfare lies in the hands of Bharatha, there is no other way to get the troubles resolved, Lord Sri Ramachandra always recognize the services rendered by the noble souls and ascetics. Therefore, we shall pray to virtuous Bharatha, who has won over the hearts of Rama with his pure love, devotion, and amiability.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Rama pacifies Bharatha “The hatred and love cannot be hidden too long”

Chapter – 258– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Rama pacifies Bharatha “The hatred and love cannot be hidden too long”

Lord Rama spoke “Oh! Bharatha, whoever utter your name with great reverence would achieve fame and happiness, and all their sins and grief of worldly existence would disappear. Lord Shambhu as the witness I shall pronounce the truth, Bharatha the mother Earth is sustained by your devotion, do not keep anxiousness or wrong perception about yourself, do not blame yourself for the incident, it was the time and fate played its role. Oh! Dear darling, the hatred, and love can’t be hidden too long, the birds and wild animals are the companion of hermits, they flee at the very sight of a hunter. Oh! Dear brother, even the birds, and animals could distinguish friend and foe, hence nothing to talk about the humans considered as the storehouse of virtue and knowledge. Oh! Thatha, your mind, and heart are pure, and unblemished, still you are going through anguish to a great extent. Our beloved father King Dhasharatha gave up his life after fulfilling his promises to Devi Kaikeyi, I feel perturbed at the very thought of breaking the promises to him. I want to follow the promise given to our father sincerely, in addition to that our preceptor insists to follow their orders, anyway I am prepared to do whatever you suggest.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Rama pacifies Bharatha "whoever blames Bharatha would not achieve auspiciousness, their generation would perish and whoever blames Devi Kaikeyi would not achieve the assemblage of preceptor and saintly people.”

Chapter – 257– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Rama pacifies Bharatha  - “Whoever blames Bharatha would not achieve auspiciousness, their generation would perish and whoever blames Devi Kaikeyi would not achieve the assemblage of preceptor and saintly people.”

Bharatha continues “The fate did not inflict pain on the son of sinful Devi Kaikeyi who consider Rama, Lakshman and Devi Sita as her hostile.” Listening to the words of wisdom, love, devotion, and prudence of Bharatha, the people of assembly plunged into deep sorrow and agony, as if the bed of lotus flowers battered by frost. The Sages pacified Bharatha with the various legends from the scriptures, the delight of the Raghu clan Lord Rama spoke wise words appropriate for the situation “Oh! Dear Bharatha, you feel humiliated for no reason, even after knowing that fate is not in the hands of Jeeva, it is dispersed by the Almighty Lord. Oh! Dear darling, the noble souls of three worlds in the past, present, and future are incomparable to you. Oh! Dear brother, whoever keeps hatred against you in their hearts will get ruined, and their generations will perish, and whoever blames Devi Kaikeyi for the mishaps in our lives won’t achieve the gathering of the preceptors or saintly men and ascetics.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha shed tears of grief for the troubles caused in the life of Rama, Lakshman, and Devi Sita

Chapter – 256– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha shed tears of grief for the troubles caused in the life of Rama, Lakshman and Devi Sita

Bharatha spoke in tears “In this assembly of noble souls and preceptors, and before my Master the Lord of Raghu and in this holy land, all I have spoken the words of truth. Whatever I have spoken were with the great love to my beloved Lord and preceptors who are the knower of all. The Universe is the witness to my mother’s wicked plans and the death of our father happened due to the pain of separation from Rama. The Queen mothers are in extreme distress, no one can bear to look at them, and the men and women of the city of Ayodhya are in utter grief of desolation. I understand that I am the root cause of all the evils, and endured all the sufferings. My beloved brother Rama, attired in saffron robes left the city of Ayodhya along with Devi Sita and Lakshman, proceeded to the woods not even wearing the foot cover, Lord Shankara is the witness I have survived from that grief too. I have witnessed the love and devotion of Nishadharaj Guha, my heart is harder than rock refused to break even after seeing all that, I think I will continue to live with all those sufferings and grief for a long time.  What would I say, even the venomous serpents and scorpions famous for their anger would move away at the mere sight of Rama, Lakshman and Devi Sita.”
