Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Sundara Kanda –The fortune, happiness, wealth, fame, and the richness of the Jeeva who has no faith in Lord Sri Ramachandra would leave after some time, though it stays for a while, like the rivers that have no perennial source of water gets dried up without rain showers

Chapter – 24– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sundara Kanda–The fortune, happiness, wealth, fame, and  the richness of a disbeliever would leave after some time, though it stays for a while, like the rivers that have no perennial source of water gets dried up without rain showers

Hanuman speaks “Oh! Dhashanan, surrender to the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra who is Pranathapala/protector of the distressed souls, Karunasindhu/ocean of mercy, Raghunayaka/Lord of Raghu's, Kharari/slayer of demon Khara, he will forgive you and protects you. Oh! Ravana, contemplate upon that supreme Lord Rama and enjoy worldly pleasure as the King of Lanka. The glory of your grandfather Sage Pulasya is the untainted moon, do not be a speck in that moon, leave your arrogance and ignorance, contemplate upon that Lord Rama. Oh! Surari, a beautiful woman adorned in various precious ornaments all over the body, but without clothes does not look attractive. The fortune, happiness, wealth, fame, richness of a Jeeva who has no faith in Lord Sri Ramachandra would leave after some time, though it stays for a while, like the rivers that have no perennial source of water gets dried up without rain showers. Oh! Dhashanan listens to me carefully, I promise you, there is no deity that will protect you if you turn hostile against Lord Rama, an enemy of Lord Rama can’t get protected from thousands of Lords Bhrama, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shankara.”

Chapter – 23– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sundara Kanda– Hanuman advises Ravana to leave enmity to Lord Sri Ramachandra and return Devi Sita

Hanuman spoke graciously “Oh! Dhashanan, I am the emissary of that supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra who is unconquerable, capable to defeat all the animate and inanimate things in this Universe, you have abducted his beloved consort, Devi Sita, in his absence. Oh! Ravana, I know your might thoroughly, you had a conflict with Sahasrabhahu and Vali.” Ravana laughed out scornfully at Hanuman who spoke thoughtfully, “Listen, Dhashanan, I have destroyed your pleasure garden as all other monkeys do, I ate the fruits from the garden because I was hungry. Oh! Lord, who does not love their life? I am not different from anyone, your army of demons attacked me, hence I had to repay what they deserve the best to protect myself from death. Oh! Ravana, your son Meghanatha fastened me with the Bhramasthra, I am not ashamed of it at all, I am always keen to serve my supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra. Oh!, Mighty Ravana, I request you with joined palms, do not keep enmity with Lord Rama, give up your arrogance and heed to my words. At this moment, you have to think about the welfare of your clan, get rid of your ignorance, and surrender at the lotus feet of Lord Rama,  get rid of your fear and anxiousness. The Supreme Lord Rama will not leave his devotees in distress, do not antagonize with him, he represents Yama who devours the animate and inanimate in the Universe. It is my sincere request to you to give up your haughtiness, and return Devi Sita safely back to Lord Rama.”

Chapter – 22– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sundara Kanda– The conversation between Ravana and Hanuman

Dhashanan’s boisterous laugh echoed all over the palace watching the mighty Vanara before him, soon the thought of the death of his younger son Akshakumara pushed him gloomy. Ravana spoke haughtily “Oh! Vanara, who are you? Why did you destroy the entire pleasure garden? Haven’t heard my might yet? Who prompted you to do such mayhem in the Ashokavatika? Why did you kill the multitudes of the army of demons? You are exceptionally brave, Oh! Fool, aren’t you fear of death?” Hanuman spoke passionately “Oh! Dhashanan, listen to me carefully, ponder over the supreme Lord Rama whose inseparable Maya creates the multitudes of Universe and its living and non-living things, Oh! Dhashanan, ponder over the supreme Lord Rama who is the Lord of Lords, represents Lord Bhrama, the creator, Lord Vishnu the preserver and Lord Rudra the destroyer, and carry out the functions of the Universe, Oh! Ten-headed demon, ponder over the supreme Lord Rama who is the essence of thousand hooded Adishesha carries the entire weight of all the Bhramanda on his hood. Oh! Dhashanan, ponder over the supreme Lord Rama who incarnates on the Earth to reinstate Dharma, provides welfare and happiness to the noble souls and Mahatmas with his passionate sport, and destroys the wicked demons like you. Oh! Dhashanan, ponder over the supreme Lord Sri Rama who broke the powerful bow of Lord Shambhu in the assembly of King Janaka, thereby crushed your pride. Oh! Wicked, ponder over the supreme Lord Rama who has matchless valor, killed the mighty demons Khara, Dhooshana and Thrishirass, and multitudes of your army.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Sundara Kanda – Meghanath fastened Hanuman with the Bhramasthra and brought him in the assembly of Ravana

Chapter – 21– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sundara Kanda– Meghanath fastened Hanuman with the Bhramasthra and brought him in the assembly of Ravana

Hanuman and Meghanath of equal strength fought each other for a while, finally, Meghanath invoked Bhramasthra aiming at Hanuman. Kapipathi thought “If I did not surrender to the powerful weapon Bhramasthra, the glory of the Astra would vanish in the air, hence I should surrender to it whatever may come I should not let it happen.” Meghanath shot the Bhramasthra against Hanuman, which caused mayhem on the battlefield, eventually, Hanuman fell unconscious. Soon, all the demons gathered around Hanuman, tied him with the Nagapasha and whatever bark of trees available around him, that made the Bhramasthra instantly retract its power with the touch of impure materials, but Hanuman pretended himself unconscious, immediately several haughty demons carried him with great enthusiasm and marched towards the assembly of Ravana. Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Bhavani, do you think the Bhramasthra hurt Hanuman, the ardent devotee, and emissary of Lord Sri Ramachandra who removes the bondage of the Jeeva, and protects from the repeated cycles of births and miseries of worldly existence? Hanuman graciously accepted the Bhramasthra invoked against him and let it bound him for a while, as a service to that supreme Lord Ramachandra.” The demons were extremely delighted to find that the Vanara was under control, captured, and brought it safely to the assembly. Thus, Hanuman arrived in the majestic assembly of Ravana which was beyond description. The deities stood in the assembly with their hands folded, without blinking their eyes looked at Ravana and were waiting for his order to accomplish. Hanuman stood fearless before the assembly of Ravana, like the King of birds remain unperturbed in the midst of venomous serpents.
