Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha eulogizes Rama and Lakshman

Chapter – 193– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha eulogizes Rama and Lakshman

Bharatha spoke gravely “Oh! Guha, even after watching these golden beads that have lost luster after the separation Devi Sita, the ornament of the virtuous woman and a devoted wife to Lord Rama I am unfortunate, my heart does not break in grief, my Prana does not leave this body after watching all these. My younger brother Lakshman should be praised highly for his love for Rama and Devi Sita, there was no one like him, and will not be a brother like Lakshman in the future. He is beloved of parents, preceptors and people of Ayodhya, he is dear as life to Devi Sita and Lord Rama. His body is tender and delicate, never been exposed to harsh climates, yet he was most willingly followed Rama, still bearing the hardships in the woods. Oh! Guha, the mere remembrance of all those hardships creates extreme pain in my heart like I was struck by millions of thunderbolts. Rama is the delight of the solar clan, family, people of the Kingdom, and the preceptor, he illuminated the whole Universe with his birth, he is the ocean of beauty, virtues, amiability, and happiness, even the enemies praise the virtues, kindness, pleasantness, politeness of Rama. Devi Sarada who is the excellence in speech and Adhishesha who has thousands of tongues could not explain the virtues of supreme Lord Rama.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Ayodhya Kanda – Bharatha shed tears thinking about Rama and Devi Sita

Chapter – 192– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Bharatha shed tears thinking about Rama and Devi Sita

Guha showed the sacred Shimshupa/Ashoka tree where Rama took shelter during his journey, soon Bharatha reverentially prostrated before the tree and looked at it with great admiration, further he beautifully placed the Kushagrass around the tree and prostrated once again. Bharatha took the dust particles from the footprints of Rama, applied them on forehead and eyes with great love, which was beyond description. Bharatha spotted a few golden beads under the tree, that was reverentially placed on his head as if he was offering salutation to Devi Sita. Bharatha shed tears in extreme grief and spoke solemnly “Oh! Guha, Oh! Brother, see these golden beads have lost their beauty and luster due to the separation from Devi Sita, like the men and women of Ayodhya who have lost their happiness at the separation of this couple. The entire people of Ayodhya have doomed to utter gloominess. Who can live an ascetic life like the illustrious King Janaka, father of Devi Sita? He is the supreme ascetic who considers pleasure and pain as the same, while taking pleasure in the Kingdom, he is neither happy nor sad.  Her father-in-law is the illustrious King Dasaratha who is the Lord of the solar race, even the deities envy his fame and glories. Her beloved Lord is Lord of Raghu's, Rama whose virtues, righteousness, kindness, and compassion are well known in the fourteen spheres.”

Guha felt extremely unhappy watching Bharatha in tears, he took Bharatha to all those places where Rama, Lakshman, and Devi Sita has visited during their journey to the woods.

Guha’s men retired to the woods after receiving orders from their Master, soon they began to prepare beautiful shelter homes for their guests, using the creepers, leaves, bark of trees and woods, thus they have constructed several marvelous homes near the ponds, streams, lakes, and under the cluster 0f auspicious trees.  Bharatha visited the village Shrungaberipura, and it multiplied the happiness and enthusiasm of the people lived in this village, Guha felt extremely happy and honored. Bharatha stood close to the Nishadharaja and perceived the beauty of the village, the pair resembled love and meekness.  Further, Bharatha visited the river Ganga purifier of souls with his army men, he prostrated before the sacred river, also came to know that Lord Rama bathed in this river, Bharatha was transported to a state of bliss as if he has met Rama. Oh! Prabho, I have born in a clan of deceitful, wicked, evil-minded, people who hunt for livelihood, are considered as impure by Veda and scriptures, but I have achieved the highest of the fortune by devoted at the lotus feet of Lord Ram who has considered me as one of his best companions.” Shathrughna approached Guha and embraced him listening to the most amiable, affectionate words of Guha. Nishadharaja met all the queen mothers, and greeted them in an appropriate manner, introducing him to all the mothers in a respectful manner, all those mothers blessed Guha and considered him as Lakshman “May you live happily for millions of years”. The women and men of the Ayodhya felt very happy in the association of Guha, considered him as Lakshman and cheered “Nishadharaja is extremely fortunate as Lakshman, he has achieved the grace of Lord Rama and remained in his embrace.” Guha was felt immensely happy listening to the kindness and compassion of the people, ultimately led them to the forest.

Chapter – 188– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Guha feels fortunate to meet Bharatha who is the essence of love and devotion

The deities pronounced “The whole world remembers the legend of Sabari who is dull, an ignorant woman born in a lowly clan of Kola, Bhila, Kiratha, achieved highest of the piousness, by mere uttering the sacred name of Lord Rama. It is not a surprising factor at all, whoever achieves the grace of the supreme Lord of Raghu’s would get sanctified and get rid of their sins.” The divine voice uttered by the deities was heard to the people of Ayodhya assembled in the woods.  Bharatha affectionately enquired about the welfare, health, and happiness of Guha who stood motionless watching the humility, kindness, and compassion of Bharatha, forgot his existence for a few moments. Guha immediately grew fond of Bharatha, gazing at his amiable disposition, looked at Bharatha without blinking his eyes,  repeatedly prostrated at the lotus feet of Bharatha, and collected his bow and arrow, and spoke with folded hands “Oh! Prabho, I behold your lotus feet which is the origin of love, happiness, and devotion, I feel fortunate to achieve your grace, and it would provide all kinds of auspiciousness and welfare for millions of our generations.”

Chapter – 187– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– The deities eulogize the love between Bharatha and Guha

Bharatha affectionately raised Guha who was prostrated at his feet, and embraced him, as if he had met Lakshman, felt the rush of love for Guha, and he could not control tears of joy. He repeatedly embraced Guha, and the people who were watching the bond between the two admired the pairs. The deities praised them and showered flowers upon them and cheered “Guha who was born in the lowly clan of hunter, considered as impure by Veda and scriptures, whoever cross the shadows of this lowly people should bathe, yet the young brother of Lord Rama embraced him in great joy. Whoever utters the sacred name “Ram’ would get rid of hosts of sins, even pronounced this sacred name while yawing would provide its fruit. Guha is beloved of Rama, embraced that supreme Bhramam, thereby he and his family have achieved an abundance of piousness, which is capable to purify the whole world. Likewise, the waters of the inauspicious river Karmanasa confluence with Ganga would achieve piousness with the touch of sacred Ganga. The entire world knows about the legend of Sage Balmiki who was born as a hunter, achieved the status of Bhramam by merely uttering the name of Rama in reverse order ‘Ma Ra’.”
