Chapter – 49 – Dhoha – 48

Lord Mahadeva was highly pleased to listen to that  innocent, and curios words of  Devi Parvathi and her enthusiasm to understand that supreme Bhramam. Soon all those beautiful legends of Rama became vivid in his heart, he could not control his tears due to intense devotion was transported to a state of ecstasy, he envisioned that glorious form of Rama in his mind, it multiplied the bliss in him. Lord Mahadeva immersed in deep meditation for an hour, after that he began to narrate that glorious legend of Rama.

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi, an ignorant mistake a rope as the serpent, therefore people who are not aware of that supreme Bhramam consider him as an ordinary human on the Earth and refuse to accept the divinity in him, they consider the legend of Rama as a dream and soak in the material world. I shall prostrate before that supreme Lord Rama who assumed the form of an infant, whose sacred names provides various Siddhis to the worshiper, I shall prostrate before that little child who takes great pleasure in exploring the courtyard of King Dhashratha. I shall prostrate before that Lord Rama who symbolizes auspiciousness, and removes all the ill fortunes, and earnestly pray to shower grace on me.” In this way, Thripurari offered salutation to Lord Rama and began to describe the glorious legend to Devi Parvathi.

Lord Mahadeva continues “Oh! Girirajakumari, you are the fortunate one, you are most promising to the welfare of the universe and its living beings, and you are the purifiers of Universe like Devi Ganga. You have requested me to describe the glorious legend of Rama which purifies the entire Universe and the Jeeva, you are most devoted at the lotus feet of Raghuveera and your questions would be most promising to the entire universe and its people. The legend of Rama would remove sorrow, desires, hallucination/worldly desires, and misapprehensions of the devotees; these cannot touch you even in your dreams. Your qualms about that supreme Bhramam would benefit the Jeeva whoever reads or listen to it.  Whoever does not listen to it, their ears would remain as potholes where the serpent lives, whoever does not visit the saintly people,  and ascetics, their eyes remain the eyes on the feathers of the peacock, whoever does not bow down before Lord Hari,  and preceptor, their head would remain bitter pumpkin, whoever does not have devotion and love for Rama, are equivalent to the corpse, whoever does not sing in praise of Rama, their tongue is equivalent to the tongue of the frog, the heart which does not take pleasure and melt after listening to the legend of Rama is cruel and as hard as Vajra, Oh! Girija, the various amusements of Lord Rama are enticing to deities and most fascinating to the demons.”

Chapter – 48 – Dhoha – 47

The conversation between Goddess Bhavani and Lord Mahadeva

Devi Parvathi speaks “Oh! Bhagavan, if Rama is the son of King Dhasharatha, how he would be considered as the supreme Bhramam? If he is supreme Bhramam why did he lament the separation from Devi Sita like an ordinary human being? I am so confused after hearing the legends and endless virtues of Rama and his reactions to the various situations in life, it does not match at all. Oh! Prabho, you are impassive, all-pervasive, and mighty Lord, kindly describe that supreme Bhramam. Kindly do not get agitated on my ignorance, and kindly remove my misconceptions. I have seen the splendor of Lord Rama in my previous birth, and it put me in extreme trepidations, I have not detailed it to you due to fear, my heart was impure, I did not understand it and I had to undergo the terrible consequences of my sin. I have a few doubts lingering in me, I shall request you with folded hands, you have put all efforts to convince me before but I did not understand them any, Oh! Swami kindly does not get angry on me, I have no intention to test Rama, I have grown devoted to Rama and his glorious legends, Oh! Devadeva, who is adorned in serpents as ornaments, kindly describe the virtues of Rama.”

Devi Parvathi continues “Oh! Lord, I shall prostrate before you, keeping my head at your lotus feet, kindly describe the endless glories of Rama, as described in the Veda. Oh! Bhagavan, I am an ignorant woman if you consider me as your sincere attendant by words, deeds, and thoughts, kindly enlighten me. The saintly people never discourage the curious people who are desired to achieve knowledge on Bhramam, Oh! Sureshwara, I am curious to know about that Bhramam, kindly describes the legends of Rama. Why the supreme Bhramam which is Nirguna did assume the form of Saguna? Kindly narrate the incarnation of Rama, his various childhood amusements, his grand celestial wedding with Devi Sita who is the daughter of King Janaka, why did he abandon the Kingdom of Ayodhya? Kindly describe his various amusements in the woods, his battle with the demon Ravana, later returned to the Kingdom and crowned as the King of Ayodhya, while ruling the city of Ayodhya he has performed various pastimes, Oh! Shankara who symbolizes supreme bliss kindly describes them in detail. Oh! Karunanidhi, kindly describe the return of Rama to his supreme abode/Swadhama, with his subjects. Oh! Swami, kindly describes that supreme Bhramam which is continuously sought after by the illustrious Rishis and Sages and takes great pleasure in it. Oh! Bhagavan, kindly describe the essence of Bhakti, Gnana, knowledge about that Nirguna Bhramam, knowledge of the limitations of the Saguna Upasana, the differentiation between Saguna and Nirguna Upasana, and Vairagya/sense of renunciation, etc. Oh! Natha, who is unblemished and storehouse of wisdom, kindly describe the highly confidential pastimes of Rama, Oh! Dhayalo, if I have left out any details to learn about Rama, kindly describe them too. Oh! Universal preceptor, you are the preceptor to the three worlds pronounced by Veda, kindly impart the knowledge of that supreme Bhramam to the ignorant ones.”

Chapter – 47 – Dhoha – 46

The conversation between Goddess Bhavani and Lord Mahadeva

Maharishi Yajjavalkhya speaks “Once, Lord Mahadeva went nearer to the Vatavruksha, looked at its stunning beauty, and took great pleasure under the shade of it. He spread the skin of tiger on the floor and sat down for a while, the supreme Lord Thripurari who has the complexion of white jasmine, camphor, Lord Chandra, and Conch has long hands and legs, attired in the skin of the trees, his feet have the resemblance of the red lotus flower, his shining toenails removes the darkness of ignorance of his devotees, he is adorned in serpents and smeared in ashes, his face has the luster excels  full moon of the autumn, he has attractive hair lock tied up on the pinnacle of the head, adorned in sacred river Ganga and crescent moon in it, his beautiful eyes have the resemblance to lotus flower petals, and has a bluish throat. Oh! Mune, the beauty of that Prabhu is indescribable. The Supreme Lord who is the enemy of the Kama was seated in utmost serenity. Devi Bhavani saw the Lord Shambhu, thought it was the best opportunity to have a talk with him.  Thus Devi Parvathi went close to Lord Shambhu, was received affectionately and offered a seat next on his left, and she took the seat with him in great pleasure. Instantly, she remembered her previous birth, and realized that her husband’s love has multiplied; she smiled at Lord with great affection and began to speak in a sweet tone, about the promising legend which provides welfare to the Universe “Oh! Vishwanatha, Oh! Swami, Oh! Thripurari, your splendor is well known to the three worlds. You are worshiped by living and non-living things, Naga, humans, and deities are constantly serving your lotus feet. Oh! Swami, you are mighty Lord, you are omniscient, you symbolize auspiciousness, and you are the storehouse of all the art forms, virtues, Yoga, wisdom, Gnana, and Vairagya. Your sacred names are Kalpavriksha for the people who are surrendered at your lotus feet. Oh! Swami, you symbolize supreme bliss, if you are pleased with me, or if you recognize me as your sincere servant, Oh! Prabho, kindly describe the various legends of Lord Raghunatha and remove my ignorance. Why a person living under Kalpavruksha should suffer poverty? Oh! Chandrashekhara, kindly remove my misapprehensions, Oh! Prabho, the illustrious Sages and Rishis who has the knowledge of Paramarththa, says supreme Lord Rama is absolute Bhramam and primordial. His glories and endless virtues are sung by Adishesha, Goddess Sharada, Vedas, and Puranas. Oh! Manmathashathro, you are continuously reciting that glorious Nama day and night with intense devotion and faith. Kindly describe, is this Rama is the son of King Dhasharatha of Ayodhya or is that absolute Bhramam which has no birth or death, unaffected by the Gunas, or impurities, and has no specific form and invisible?”

Chapter – 46 – Dhoha – 45

The various amusements of Girijaramana is like an unfathomable ocean, even Vedas are incompetent to describe the same, and hence how a dull-minded and undisciplined Tulsidas could describe them? In this way, Sage Bharadhwaja who was listening to the glorious legends of Lord Shambhu and Goddess Bhavani, immersed in a state of supreme ecstasy. His eyes were soaked in tears, his interest to listen more and more made him speechless, his body wrapped in a state of bliss, with intense devotion and love for the supreme Lord made him search for words. The illustrious Rishi Yajjavalkhya became happy watching the indescribable state of Maharishi Bharadhwaja.

Maharishi Yajjavalkhya speaks “Oh! Munisha, you are the fortunate one, Lord Girisha is Prana to you, who does not have the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Shiva cannot please the Lord Rama not even in their dreams. The pure devotion and faith at the lotus feet of Lord Shiva is one of the significant qualities of the devotee of Lord Rama. The supreme Lord Mahadeva who discarded his sinless wife, and proved his boundless devotion Lord Rama, Is there anyone other than a sincere devotee of Rama like Lord Mahadeva? Is there anyone other than Mahadeva most desirable to Rama? I have noticed your intense faith and devotion upon Lord Mahadeva, the moment I have started describing them. You are definitely one of the sincere and pure servants of Lord Rama. I know your virtues and simplicity, therefore listen to the legends of Lord Raghupathi as well. Oh! Mune, I cannot describe the happiness that I have met you. Oh! Munishwara, the legends, and various amusements of Rama are endless, even the thousand hooded Adishesha cannot explain them.  I shall prostrate before the supreme Lord Rama who is wielded in bow and arrow, he is Prabhu who is Vageesha, and I shall narrate those glorious legends as I have heard them. The supreme Goddess Vageeshwari/Sharada is a wooden puppet in the hands of Lord Rama.”

Maharishi Yajjavalkya continues "Oh! Mune, the Supreme Lord Rama bless his fortunate devotees who have skills in writing and compose poems, which is appreciated by noble souls, in this way Devi Vageeshwari dances on the tongue of the poet. I shall prostrate before the supreme Lord Raghurama who is the ocean of mercy, and describe the endless virtues of him. The abode of supreme Lord Shiva and Devi Uma, Mount Kailash is the most beautiful mountain.  The fortunate ones, noble souls, ascetics, Yogis, Rishis, Thapasvi, Siddhas, and deities reside here and contemplate that supreme Lord Mahadeva who symbolizes eternal bliss. People who are uninterested in Dharma and lack of devotion to Lord Hara and Lord Hari cannot visit this place not even in their dreams. There was a beautiful Vatavruksha in this Mount Kailash, it remains youthful and most attractive always, its shade provides coolness and fragrance as well, moreover, it provides great enthusiasm to the devotees."

Chapter – 45 – Dhoha – 44

Jagathjanani and Lord Mahadeva returns to the abode Mount Kailash

Devi Mena called for his daughter Parvathi, took her on the lap, and gave valuable advice “Oh! Puthri, always worship the feet of Lord Shankara, it is the duty of a married woman, the husband is God to a married woman, therefore she has no need to worship any other deities.” Devi Mena’s eyes overflow with tears, she embraced her daughter. Devi Mena spoke to herself “Why did God has created women, she is Paradheena/dependent on others has no peace or comfort even in her dreams.” Devi Bhavani realized her mother expressing her boundless affection on her, decided to keep her feelings within so that Devi Mena will not find the separation as grief.  Thus Devi Bhavani controlled her emotions and made her mother strong, Devi Mena repeatedly met her daughter and fallen at her feet. It was beyond words to describe Devi Mena’s love for her daughter. Devi Bhavani went to meet all the female guests and bade farewell to them, and rushed to her mother once again, she tightly embraced Devi Mena.

Once again Devi Bhavani bade farewell to all those people assembled in the palace, all the people blessed the newly wedded couple, on her way to groom’s abode she looked back several times at her mother.  Lord Shiva showered an abundance of boon on the people gathered and returned to Mount Kailash with Devi Bhavani, all the deities showered flowers upon them, the divine sounds of Dhundhubi echoed in the sky. Himavan accompanied the couple to Mount Kailash, was comforted by Lord Shankara, and send him back to his abode.  Giriraja returned to his abode and send back all those guests offering them invaluable gifts and bade farewell to those, mountains, hills, woods, and ponds who have assumed the form of human and attended the celestial wedding. Once, Lord Shambhu settled in Kailash with Devi Bhavani, all those deities returned to their respective abodes.

Lord Shambhu and Goddess Bhavani is the father and mother of the Universe therefore I am not describing their passionate sports here. They took great pleasure in the comforts of the Kailash and lived with the Ganas. Hara and Devi Girija engaged in numerous passionate sports and explored various places of rich natural beauty, in this way they have spent several blissful years of marriage. Later, they had a son with six faces,/Karthikeya, he killed the haughty demon Tharaka in a fierce battle.  The birth of Lord Shanmukha is broadly mentioned in scriptures, Veda, Thanthra and it is well-known to the world. Hence I did not mention elaborately on the birth of Lord Shanmukha,  his endless prowess,  and courage.  Whoever sung in praise of the celestial marriage of Lord Shambhu and Goddess Bhavani during the celebration of marriage or auspicious occasion would attain eternal bliss.

Chapter – 44 – Dhoha – 43

The grand celestial wedding of Lord Mahadeva and Goddess Bhavani -2

The mesmerizing beauty of Devi Jagamba was beyond description even for the thousand-tongued Adishesha, Veda and Goddess Sharada, hence how could I describe them? How dull-minded people like me able to describe the beauty of Jaganmatha? Devi Bhavani who is the epitome of beauty shyly approached Lord Mahadeva, her eyes were already fixed upon the beauty of the red lotus-like feet of that supreme Lord, it was taking great pleasure in it like a honey bee, the overflowing shyness did not let her take pleasure in it. Lord Shambhu and Goddess Bhavani worshiped LordGanesha at the instruction of Maharishis. Oh! Listeners, do not get confused, deities are Anadhi and have already existed at the beginning of the creation.

The wedding procedures were conducted strictly based on the scriptures and Veda, Himavan was holding the Dharbha/sacred grass and his daughter’s hand together, and offered them to Lord Shankara. Devi Bhavani who is the inseparable consort of Lord Shankara was offered into his hands, Lord Sureshwara took hold of her hands, the deities were immensely pleased, and Maharishis recited Vedic chants. Devaganas cheered in bliss ‘Hail Shankara! Hail Bhavani!’, various divine instruments echoed in the atmosphere, sky showered flowers on the newly wedded couple. In this way, that glorious celestial wedding of Lord Shankara and Goddess Bhavani took place. The entire house filled in happiness and joy.  The gifts offered to Devi Bhavani was beyond description, Himavan offered numerous Dasi/female and Dasa/male attendants to serve the couple, horses, chariots, elephants, cows, royal garments, ornaments, and various accessories, an abundance of grains, and golden vessels, etc. Himavan stood with folded hands before his son-in-law and spoke “Oh! Shankara, I have nothing to offer you, you are benevolent and bountiful.” Himavan took hold of the feet of Lod Shankara and searched for words to pronounce. The compassionate Lord pacified his father-in-law with sweet words. Devi Mena prostrated before Lord Shankara and shed tears on his feet, further spoke “Oh! Prabho, Uma is dear as life to me, kindly accepts her as your sincere servant, and forgive all her mistakes, kindly offer this boon to me. Lord Shambhu pacified his mother-in-law; once again she prostrated before Lord and went inside the palace. ”

Chapter – 43 – Dhoha – 42

The grand celestial wedding of Lord Mahadeva and Goddess Bhavani

Maharishi Narada speaks “Oh! Devi Mena, Devi Sati separated from the supreme Lord Mahadeva, attended the Yaga conducted by her father Daksha, eventually sacrificed her life in the Yogagni. Devi Bhagavathi, born as your daughter in this life, conducted extreme penance to attain her inseparable consort. Therefore get rid of all your worries and misapprehensions, Devi Girija is the inseparable consort of Lord Shankara.” Soon, the woman folks forgot all their distress and grief, and peace was restored, eventually, this news was spread across the city like wildfire. Devi Mena and Himavan repeatedly prostrated before Devi Bhavani, in an extreme state of bliss.

The people of the city of Himavan, children, elderly and young people became happy, sung various songs praising the groom and bride, the people assembled were presented all that they had to offer as a gift to the bride, people who were skilled in cooking prepared a lavish meal for the guests, the details of the menu is impossible to describe that was cooked in the house of Devi Bhavani. Himavan reverentially greeted and received Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu, and all the deities, there were numberless people took the seat to consume the meal, skilled cooks served the guests with a sumptuous meal.  The deities were enthusiastically consuming meals that were teased by the woman folks. The beautiful young women were passing witty comments on their husbands while eating the meal with great interest. The deities enjoyed the loving comments of their consort and took great pleasure in the meal served; the bliss arrived while consuming the meal was indescribable. The deities were served with water after meal and offered betel leaves with tasty ingredients on it, they returned to their own fortresses to relax.

The Saptharishis returned to the chamber of Himavan, and once again read the Lagnapathrika,  the auspicious time has arrived for the performance of the marriage.  The guests were duly invited in the magnificent hall of the wedding and seated in respective seats offered to them. The Karmas began according to the Vedic ritual; ladies sang beautifully, a marvelous throne was created by the twice-born for the bride and groom positioned in the middle of the dais, which was beyond description. Lord Shiva took a seat on that grand throne after bowing down before the twice-born and contemplating upon Lord Raghuram. Maharishis instructed the woman folks to bring the bride on the dais. Goddess Bhavani who was attired finest garments and ornaments all over the body, accompanied by numerous beautiful young women arrived on the dais, seeing her spectacular appearance the deities could not control their desire.  There was no poet born or will not be born to describe the marvelous beauty of Devi Bhavani, it is impossible to describe her splendor with crores of tongues. The deities heartily offered their humble salutation to the Jaganmatha/Jagathjanani/Paramba, who is the inseparable consort of Lord Mahadeva.
