Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Uththara Kanda – whoever does not strive for the achievement of the supreme Bhramam/Athmavichara, even after obtaining the rarest birth of human are unfortunate

Chapter - 43– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – whoever does not strive for the achievement of the supreme Bhramam/Athmavichara, even after obtaining the rarest birth of human are unfortunate

The illustrious Sanakadhis who are the liberated souls/Jeevanmuktha, the absolute Bhramam embodied as the ascetics took great pleasure in the various amusements of Lord Rama, hence the Jeeva whoever does not take pleasure in the glorious legend of Sri Hari is stonehearted. One day Lord Raghu invited Sage Vashishta, Rishis, Sages, and the illustrious Bhramins in the assembly, and all of them were received with great honor and took the seats arranged for them. The Supreme Lord Rama who is the destroyer of Garbhavasadhukha/repeated births, addressed the assembly “Oh! Mahathma, whatever I utter are not out of attachment to the world, I do not compel to do something which is worthless to practice, or I do not enforce my power on the people of Ayodhya, therefore kindly listen to me and act whatever feasible for you, and whoever follows my instructions sincerely is dear to me, if I utter anything unpleasant, kindly correct me. The Veda and scriptures highly emphasize that the human birth is rare to achieve, even for the deities and it is most appropriate for spiritual endeavors, and advancement, it is the gateway for liberation from the sufferings of worldly existence, therefore whoever does not strive for the achievement of that supreme Bhramam, even after obtaining the rarest birth of human are unfortunate.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Uththara Kanda – Karma/good and bad deeds are the product of Maya/illusion and ignorance

Chapter – 42– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Karma/good and bad deeds are the product of Maya/illusion and ignorance

Rama speaks “Oh! Dear Brother, the good and evil Karma are the product of Maya/illusion, Jeeva drenched in Maya forced to commit good and bad deeds,/ due to the influence Roopa/forms, Shabdha/sound, Sparsha/touch, Rasa/taste,  and Gandha/smell the Jeeva engages in various Karma. The ignorance causes to commit the sin, and the dispassion and renunciation keep the Jeeva away from the sin.”

Bharatha, Lakshman, and Shathrughna were rejoiced at heart listening to the nectar-like speeches of Rama, their heart was brimming with love for the supreme Bhramam, they repeatedly prostrated before the Lord, and particularly Hanuman was transported to a state of bliss, eventually, all of them returned to the palace, in this way, every day Lord Sri Ramachandra ventured out with his brothers and Hanuman, imparting the highest of the wisdom. During these days Maharishi Narada was a daily visitor to the palace of Ayodhya, and sing in praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra, after witnessing the various amusement of Lord Rama, he returns to the abode of Lord Bhrama and narrate to him, Lord Viranchi replied in immense delight “Oh! Thatha, keep singing in praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra,” Sanakadhis praised Narada after listening to the exploits of Sri Ramachandra, they forgot the Samadhi/transcendental state and completely absorbed in listening to the praise of the Lord.

Chapter - 41– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Rama describes the nature of noble souls and wicked people

Rama speaks “Oh! Bharatha, there was no wicked Jeeva existed in the Sathya Yuga and Thretha Yuga, but in the Dwapara Yuga there will be a sprinkle of distressed Jeevas and unfortunately in the Kali Yuga it would be the abode of atrocities, and wickedness. Oh! Dear Brother, the Veda, and Purana, the illustrious Sages and Rishis emphasize that there is no virtue as kindness, and there is no meanness as arrogance. Whoever takes pleasure in inflicting pain on others would take several births and continue to suffer the grief and pain, and whoever drenched in illusion, Kama, Krodha, Moha, Madha, Lobha, Masthshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, commit various sins, and ruin the life on Earth and afterlife as well. Oh! Bharatha, I represent death/Lord Yama, disperse the fruit of Karma/deeds of the Jeeva, the fortunate ones, Sages, Rishis, deities, worship me, thereby get rid of sufferings of worldly existence, and repeated births/Garbhavasa Dhukham. They practice Shamadhamadhi/Sathyam, Shama, Dhamam, Dhanam, Dhaya, Astheyam, Bhramacharya, Ahimsa, Shaucham, etc. renounce from good and evil actions and take refuge in me. Oh! Thatha, I have described the character of the Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls who worship me and get rid of Garbhavasa Dukham/repeated births, and the nature of wicked who repeatedly hurl themselves into several births and undergo sufferings and grief of worldly existence.”

Chapter - 40– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Rama describes the nature of wicked people

Lord Rama speaks “Oh! Thatha, people who enjoy the company of others' wives, wealth, and take great pleasure in causing afflictions on others, and enjoy the ill fortune of others, and take pleasure in spreading rumors, are demons, carnivores in the grab of humans. These wicked are greedy, they take immense pleasure in physical relationships and are gluttons by nature, and will have no fear of punishments on the abode of Yama. They could not bear the achievement or fortune of others, they leave a sigh of distress in others advancement, on the other hand, if they see others in afflictions, they take pleasure in watching it as if they had achieved huge treasure. These people are devoted to their selfish interests, they keep enmity with the kinsfolk, drenched in sensuality, and greed. They will not have any respect for their father, mother, preceptor, or Bhramins, they are ruined and bring destruction to others. These wicked people are drenched in illusion, ignorance, and they do not keep association with Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls, or do not show interest in listening and reciting the glorious legends of Lord Sri Hari. They are the ocean of vile nature, dull-witted, drenched in impurities, do not respect Veda or Bhramins, take pleasure in others' wealth and wives. Unfortunately, some wear a mask of noble, although they are malice to all, particularly enemy to the Veda and Bhramins, manipulative, and present themselves as a noble soul.”

Chapter - 39– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Rama describes the nature of wicked people

Lord Sri Ramachandra speaks “Oh! Thatha, whoever grown afar from the sense of dualities, and consider honor and disrespect, grief and joy, happiness and sorrow, friends and enemies are alike, and taken shelter at my lotus feet, contemplate and meditate upon me, and who is the storehouse of virtues, bliss, and amiability, are dear as my life.”

Lord Rama continues “Oh! Bharatha, I have described the characteristics of noble souls already, listen to me carefully, I shall describe the people whose association should be avoided for good, which would contribute only grief and agonies like the wicked cow manipulates the entire breed of noble cows. The heart of wicked people burns in jealousy of others' achievements and prosperity, they constantly undergo gloominess, these people enjoy the fall of others, feel good watching others in extreme trouble, as if they have stumbled upon the precious stones. The wicked people are merciless, drenched in impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, chases after sensual pleasures, they nurture enmity towards everyone without any reason or time, they are mean, ungrateful, and arrogant to people who served them sincerely, they are a storehouse of falsehood, they are manipulative, and they live on falsehood, these people are stone-hearted, speak sugar-coated words, and too dangerous as the venomous serpent.”

Chapter - 38– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Rama describes the characteristics of the Santh Brindh, Mahathma, and noble souls

Lord Rama spoke “ Oh! Bharatha, sandalwood paste is highly fragrant, cool by nature used to adorn on the forehead and body of the deities, and its highly revered, but the axe made out of iron thrown into the blazing fire as a punishment, hammered and smoothened the edges to get it sharpened. The Santh Mahathma noble souls are a storehouse of virtues, amiability, and have no interest in worldly matters or bondage, they can’t bear the pain of others, and they rejoice at the happiness of others. They are grown out of pleasures and grief caused by the sense of dualities/grace and disgrace, enemy and friends, good and bad, happiness and sorrow. They are free from the impurities of the mind, such as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, they have no desires or liking or hatred. They are kind and compassionate to the distressed Jeeva, they are my devotees by word, mind, and deed. Oh! Bharatha, these Santh, Mahatmas, and noble souls are humble and modest and are dear as my life. They have no personal motive or interest, they worship me sincerely and live in utmost tranquility, dispassion, and humility, and they are good-humored too. Oh! Dear brother, the characteristic of a noble soul is serenity, innocence, truthfulness, friendliness, humility, kindness, and great devotion and respect to Bhramanas who are the fountain of virtues, and they will have perfect control over senses, celibacy, observance of vows, and austerities, these Mahatmas never utter a word of arrogance or anger.”

Chapter - 37– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – The traits of noble souls and the wicked people

Bharatha spoke fervently “Oh! Kripanandha, Oh! Blissful Lord, Oh! Prabho, I have no misconceptions, or dejection or illusion not even in my dream with your grace. Oh! Kripanidhi, you are the storehouse of virtues, and compassion, Oh! Prabho, you are eulogized by Veda, scriptures, Rishis and sages, you are the source of auspiciousness and delight to your devotees. Oh! Lord of Raghu, you have several times revealed your love and devotion for the noble souls, Mahatmas, Santhbrindh, and your devotees, Oh! Kripasindhu, you are the essence of supreme wisdom, I would like to hear the distinguished traits of noble souls and wicked.” Lord Rama spoke “Oh! Bharatha, the characteristics of Santhbrindh, Mahathma, noble souls are innumerable, and they are highly praised in the scriptures and Veda. The noble souls and wicked were often compared to Sandalwood tree and axe respectively, the axe cut down the sandalwood tree, and the noble souls like the sandalwood tree spread wisdom and virtues of immense fragrance, cool breeze, and shade.”
