Devi Lankini spoke “Oh! Thatha, the Swarga/heavenly pleasures and Apavarga/ has its own merits, finally, the association with the hermits, Mahatmas, noble souls, and devotees of Lord would outshine all of them.  You can proceed your exploration throughout the city of Lanka contemplating upon the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra, and accomplish the task of the Lord successfully.” Sage Kakabusundi speaks “Oh! Garuda, the poison turns nectar, foes turn friends, the ocean turns into water collected on the footprint of the cow, fire becomes cool as Mount Sumeru, at the grace of supreme Lord Ramachandra. Hanuman experienced all those hurdles he has met with as mere sand particles.” Hanuman assumed a tiny form and entered the palace of Lanka, he ransacked all the chambers, met innumerable dreadful demons of various appearances engaged in unique activities. Finally, he entered inside the grand chamber of Ravana, which was beyond description. Hanuman saw the chief of the demon King Ravana buried into sleep in a rich and luxurious bed, but he did not find Devi Vaidhehi anywhere in the chamber. He came out of the Ravana’s fortress and noticed another magnificent fortress, with a small shrine of Lord Sri Hari.

Mainaka, I have promised to myself not to relax until I finish the task of Lord Sri Ramachandra.” The deities were praised for the immense courage of Hanuman, who was darting through the clouds like an arrow released from the shaft of Rama. They called out for Devi Surasa who is the mother of Nagas, and instructed her to test the intelligence, endurance, and might of Kapishwara. Devi Surasa appeared before Hanuman with a loud roar “The deities have provided a sumptuous meal today” watching Devi Surasa voraciously approaching, Hanuman said “Oh! Devi, I shall return to you after completing the task of Rama, I shall meet Devi Sita and get the message from her, and deliver it to Rama, after that, I will pleasingly enter into your mouth to contribute a meal, Oh! Mother, until then kindly allow me to proceed my journey without any hindrance.” Devi Surasa replied “hunger can’t wait for anyone”, immediately Hanuman informed his willingness to be ready to face his fate. Devi Surasa extended her mouth up to eight Yojanas and Hanuman stretched his body doubled the size, Surasa stretched her mouth hundred and twenty-eight Yojanas, Hanuman expanded his body two hundred and fifty-six Yojanas, she further expanded her mouth, Hanuman doubled his size, in this way they have continued to confront each other for a while, finally, Devi Surasa stretched her mouth to eight hundred Yojana, soon Hanuman assumed a minuscule form and darted to her mouth and rushed out. Hanuman assumed his real size and bowed before Devi Surasa and appealed to her to allow him to proceed with his journey. Devi Surasa laughed at Hanuman and spoke “Oh! Hanuman, it was the deities appointed me to test your might, intelligence, and shrewdness.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Sundara Kanda – Initial prayer – The King of ocean advises Mount Mainka to receive Kapishwara with great respect

Chapter – 1– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sundara Kanda– The King of ocean advises Mount Mainka to receive Kapishwara with great respect

I shall prostrate before the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra who is Bhoopalachoodamani/Lord of Kings on the Earth, born in the illustrious clan of Raghus. He is extremely compassionate and kind to his devotees, he has a pleasing personality, he is supreme Bhramam, which is free from impurities, unblemished, pure, changeless, eternal, and the ultimate source of Nirvana/renunciation. He is worshiped by Lord Bhrama, Lord Shambhu, Adishesha/Phaneendra, he is eulogized by Veda and scriptures. He is the omnipresent supreme Lord Rama, dispeller of darkness of ignorance and sins, he is Jagadheeshwara, he is the preceptor of the deities, personified as Rama, he is supreme Lord Sri Hari personified as the son of King Dasaratha.

Oh! Raghupathe, I shall tell you the truth, Oh! Prabho, I   have no desires in my heart, you are the knower of all, you are that supreme Bhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva. Oh! Raghupungavah, kindly provide me intense devotion at your lotus feet/Ananya Bhakti, so that I would get rid of impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara.

Oh! Vathathmaja/son of Lord Vayu, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you. Oh! Prabho, you are the ardent devotee of Lord Sri Ramachandra, you have immense might, valor, and courage, you have great stature resembles Mount Sumeru/golden mountain, you are wisdom personified, you are the destroyer of wicked demons, you are the storehouse of virtues, and you are the commander of Vanara.

Hanuman was extremely delighted to get inspired by the elderly Jambavan, he bowed before all the Vanaras and Jambavan and spoke in great enthusiasm “Oh! Dear friends, I shall keep myself away from fruits, rooted vegetables, and leaves, until and unless I meet Devi Sita and receive a message from her. I am certain that I will complete the task of Lord Sri Ramachandra and return successfully.” Thus, Hanuman set out to cross the mighty ocean contemplating upon the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra. He took a flight to the beautiful hill, and took a seat on the huge hill situated on the seashore, again and again, he contemplated upon the supreme Lord Rama and Lord Vayu, he took a giant leap on the sky with all his might. The hill on which he was standing was crushed under his feet while he was taking a flight to the sky, he had the speed of a powerful arrow released from the bow of Rama. The presiding deity of the ocean eulogized Mount Mainaka, and advised to create a pause on the journey of Hanuman who is the emissary of Lord Rama so that he can relax for a while and get rid of the exhaustion of long flight.

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Kishkindha Kanda – Jambavan inspires Hanuman to cross the vast ocean - Phalashruthi

Chapter – 30– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Kishkindha Kanda– Jambavan inspires Hanuman to cross the vast ocean  - Phalashruthi

Jambavan spoke fervently “Oh! Vanaras, Lord Sri Hari assumed huge form to crush the pride of Bali, it was an incredible experience to me, I have circumambulated seven times that Lord Thrivikrama in less than an hour.” Angadha spoke hesitantly “Oh! Mahathma, I may cross a hundred Yojans without much effort and approach the other side of the seashore, but I am not sure whether I can fly back with the same energy.” Jambavan spoke enthusiastically “Oh! Angadha, how can we assign the task to cross the ocean to you, even though you are competent in all manner? You are the leader of the army of warriors, and your presence within the army is crucial.” Jamban turned towards Hanuman who was sitting thoughtfully, contemplating upon Lord Rama “Oh! Hanuman, listen to me carefully, why are you keeping quiet? You are the son of Lord Vayu, and you have possessed immense valor as your father does, you are the storehouse of virtues, intelligence, might, braveness, courage, fearlessness, and spiritual wisdom. Which is the task difficult to accomplish for you? Oh! Dear child, you have incarnated on the Earth to perform the task of Lord Sri Ramachandra.” The moment Hanuman heard the inspirational voice of Jambavan echoed in his ears, he grew into mountain-sized, has the complexion of molten gold, eyes glistening like blaze, bodily hairs stood upright, with great effulgence, Lord Hanuman resembled the Mount Meru/golden mountain. He produced a huge roar like the lion that reverberated in the entire forest, “Oh! Mahathma, Oh! Jambavan, I am well capable to cross the hundred Yojana of the mighty ocean, even I can pluck out the city of Lanka located on the Trikoota hills, kindly advise me.” Jambavan advised passionately “Oh! Dear son, Oh! Hanumantha, all you have to do is meet Devi Sita, and find out her situation in the Ashoka Vatika, and get the information from Devi Sita and safely return here. The Supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra who has lotus-like eyes would do the remaining part, he would retrieve her safely with the might of his arm, accompanied by the host of Vanaras and he will perform the rest of the task as a mere sport.”

The Supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra accompanied by an innumerable army of Vanaras will eradicate the wicked demons from the Earth, and retrieve Devi Sita, the deities, and Sages will eulogize his valor and might, that would sanctify the entire Universe. Whoever sings in praise of that supreme Lord Rama would achieve a supreme state of ecstasy. Sri Tulsidas, the ardent devotee of Lord Sri Ramachandra who resembles a bee at the lotus feet of the Lord would sing in praise of that Lord always.

Phalashruthi:

Whoever sings or listens to the praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra who is the vanquisher of demon Thrishirass, would get fulfilled all their desires, and ultimately get liberated from the miseries and sufferings of the repeated births. Singing in praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra who has attractive blue limbs, has the luster of blue lotus flower, would eradicate interest in worldly matters and material things such as possession, fame, richness, wealth, money, children, wife, companions, and relatives, etc. which causes repeated sufferings and agony, ultimately it would remove the heap of sins of the Jeeva.
