Kanda–
Ravana made all efforts to persuade Devi
Sita was failed miserably, finally, he kept her under the guardian of the
dreadful female demons on the Ashoka Vatika. Devi Sita immersed in contemplation
and meditation upon Lord Sri Hari whose charming appearance running after the
golden deer, constantly chanting the sacred name ‘Rama’, she spends her life in
extreme grief of pain of separation from her beloved Lord. Lord Rama noticed
Lakshman approaching the wood, he was shocked and enquired worriedly “Oh!
Lakshman, you have left Devi Sita alone in the hermitage, you did not follow my
instruction, there are several demons are wandering in disguise all over the wood,
I have started to feel that Devi Sita is not safe in the hermitage.” Lakshman
fallen at the feet of Lord Raghu and shed tears and spoke with folded hands “Oh!
Prabho, it was not my fault, I had to leave Devi Sita all alone in the
hermitage.” Lord Rama accompanied by his brother Lakshman arrived at the
hermitage located on the riverbank of Godavari. As soon as he reached the
hermitage, he found the place is empty, he felt perturbed, could not control his
grief, spoke in tears “Alas! Devi Janaki, the beloved daughter of King Janaka, who
symbolizes beauty, virtues, amiability, modesty, and devotion has gone missing.” Rama
became inconsolable, Lakshman comforted him many ways, Rama could not control the
grief and pain of separation from Devi Sita, he wandered all over the forest enquiring
the creepers, trees, and birds “Oh! Birds and deer, Oh! Buzzing honey bees,
have you seen the beautiful-eyed/Mriganayani Devi Sita? Oh! Lakshman, the
animals, birds, creepers, and the entire forest are gloomy in the absence of
Devi Sita, due to their love for my beloved consort, in the meantime the Bilva
fruit and banana rejoicing at heart, as if there is no one to excel their
beauty. Oh! Devi, where are you? Why don’t you appear before me?” in this way,
Lord of Raghu anxiously conducted a search for his beloved consort all over the
woods, lamenting like an ordinary Jeeva at the pain of separation. The Saguna
and Nirgunaswaroopa Paramathma Param Bhramam, have no birth or death, are changeless, free from afflictions, pure, unblemished, personified as Rama who
is the essence of bliss, wept bitterly like any other human beings. Further,
Rama and Lakshman met the King of birds Jatayu lying on the ground, miserably wounded
contemplating upon Rama.
