Chapter – 127– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– The nectar-like speeches of Maharishi Valmiki

Sage Valmiki spoke “Oh! Prabho, you are that all-pervasive Supreme Bhramam, enquiring me where do you settle in the woods? Oh! Prabho, kindly answer my simple question, ‘show me a place where you are not?’ then I can show an apt place for your living in the woods.”  Rama felt shy after listening to the most affectionate words of the Sage and smiled at his heart. Sage Valmiki too smiled, and began to speak nectar-like words “Oh! Rama, I shall describe the place where you can settle with Devi Sita and Lakshman. 1) Oh! Prabho kindly resides in the hearts of the Jeeva whose heart is vast like an ocean and constantly engages listening to your endless glories like watercourses splash through their ears. 2) Oh! Prabho, kindly reside in the hearts of the Jeeva who always yearn to achieve Bramanandham, listening to your endless myths, like the Chathaka birds gets enthusiastic watching the rain clouds and drink the droplets from Swathi Nakshathra, leaving the waters from all those rivers, streams and ponds on the Earth.  3) Oh! Prabho, kindly reside in the hearts of the Jeeva who always immerses in your thoughts, perceiving your magnificent form, abandoning interest in worldly matters, richness, wealth, family, children, wife, money, fame, etc.”

Chapter – 126– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Sage Valmiki eulogizes the splendor of Lord Sri Ramachandra

Maharishi Valmiki spoke fervently “Oh! Rama, Oh! Kripanidhan, you are the essence of Veda and Shastra, you are the Lord of Universe/Purusha, and your beloved consort Devi Sita is your inseparable Maya/Prakrithi, Oh! Prabho, she is performing the creation, preservation, and destruction of the Universe at your approval. Lakshman is none other than the Adishesha who bears the weight of the entire Universe on his hood, he is the thousand-headed Adhishesha, he is the supporter of the Universe and its living and non-living things. Oh! Prabho, you have personified as Rama, son of King Dhasharatha to protect the deities and destroy the wicked demons. Oh! Prabho, you are beyond the mind, intellect, and speech, you are that supreme Bhramam which is free from changes, eternal bliss, pure, unblemished, and has neither birth nor death. You are that all-pervasive supreme Bhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, hence the Veda eulogizes your splendor as ‘Na: Ithi Na: Ithi’/Nethi Nethi. Oh! Prabho, you are incomparable. Oh! Prabho, you are the cause and effect as well. You are well capable to make even Bhrama/creator, Vishnu/preserver, and destroyer Lord Shambhu dance to your tune; therefore, you are beloved of all.  You are not perceivable, you are known to those Yogis and Mahatmas Rishis and Sages who perceives that supreme Bhramam with the practice of truthfulness, Astheyam, Shamam, Dhamam, Ahimsa, Brahmacharya, Dhaya, Dhanam, Shaucham, etc. and finally unite with you. Oh! Raghunandhana, you are the ocean of mercy, you are beloved of distressed people. Oh! Prabho, you have personified as the son of King Dasaratha, for the welfare of deities, pious and noble souls, Mahatmas, and ascetics. Oh! Prabho, the dull-minded people get confused and the wise get delighted listening to your various amusements. Oh! Prabho, you are the eternal truth, and whatever you perform is to restore the truthfulness, like the one who has assumed the character plays his role on the podium.”

Chapter – 123– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Rama approaches the hermitage of Sage Valmiki

Sage Yajjavalkya spoke “ Oh! Mune, whoever witnessed the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra along with Devi Sita and Lakshman on the way to woods achieved relief from the Thapathraya/three types of grief of worldly existence, and repeated births/Samsarachakra. Whoever remembers or dream of the supreme Lord Rama, Devi Sita, and Lakshman would achieve the supreme abode /Saketha, which is free from afflictions, grief, agony, and sorrow.  Lord of Raghu, Rama paused the journey of that day, realizing Devi Sita is worn out of exhaustion, they halted under the Banyan tree partook the fruits and rooted vegetables, stayed that night, at the early morning after bath and morning rites, they have proceeded to journey through the dense wood, watching the beauty of mountains, lush green lands, rivers, creepers, and cluster of tall trees, etc.  Finally, they have approached the hermitage of Sage Valmiki. Rama saw the beautiful hermitage located on the foothills surrounded by watercourse, cluster of lotus flowers, trees loaded with flowers of alluring colors and fragrances, the buzzing of honey bees, the birds, and animals living in complete harmony brought utmost serenity in the atmosphere.”

Chapter – 122– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– Sage Yajjavalkya describes the loveliness of Rama, Devi Sita, and Lakshman walking to the woods

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, Lord Rama who is the sun to the solar race, spreading joy all over the places proceeded to the woods with Devi Sita and Lakshman/Saumithri. Rama and Lakshman attired in saffron robes walked in such a way, as if the Paramathma walking along with the inseparable Maya, followed by the Jeevathma.  Rama walking on the forefront and Devi Sita thoughtfully following the footprints of Rama, and Lakshman was walking carefully without crossing the footprints of Devi Sita and Lord Rama. As if the Supreme Bhramam followed by his inseparable Maya/Devi Sita, and Lakshman the Jeevathma/soul following that supreme Bhramam and Maya. The beauty of Devi Sita was beyond words, excelled the beauty of Devi Rathi consort of Lord Manmatha, she has shone between the Lord and Vasantharithu, she has shone between Rama and Lakshman, like Devi Rohini between Budha and Chandra. Devi Sita meticulously followed Lord Rama, placing her feet between the footprints of Lord, and Lakshman walked alongside keeping a fair distance on the right of Rama and Devi Sita. How can I describe the affection shared between them? The birds and animals were transported to a state of bliss, watching the pair beautifully walking through the woods.”

Chapter – 121– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Ayodhya Kanda– The villagers praising the splendor of Rama, Lakshman, and Devi Sita

The women, children, and elderly people who failed to behold the beauty of Rama, Lakshman, and Devi Sita were lamented, felt miserable and unfortunate. Those who have received the piece of information about the exile of Rama from the Kingdom were blamed the King Dhasharatha and the Queen, while others praised the King for their good fortune to have a glimpse of Lord Rama, Lakshman, and Devi Sita, and they abundantly praised the King for the great reward of their life. The men and women conversed in a most agreeable manner “The parents are truly blessed to achieve Rama and Lakshman as their sons, and the most beautiful princess as a daughter-in-law and the Kingdom of Ayodhya is fortunate to have the handsome princes. The Earth, forest, hills, mountains, rivers, etc. are fortunate to bear their footprints. The villages and villagers are lucky to behold their beauty. The creator must be delightful in creating the dear and near ones to these princes and princess.” Thus, the legend of Rama spread all over the Earth, people rejoiced to speak the virtues and loveliness of the princes and Devi Sita.
