Chapter – 64– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala
Kanda – The mayhem caused by the Ganas of Lord Shiva in the Yagashala – The birth
of Devi Sati as Parvathi, daughter of Mount Himavan
The Ganas of Lord Shambhu rushed to the
site of Yaga, gathered in the assembly, and found Devi Dhakshayani’s lifeless
body, they could not control the rage, began to destroy the entire Yaga. They have
thrashed and shoved away the ingredients assembled for Yaga, put off the
sacrificial fire, physically tortured the people assembled, causes them to flee in different directions. The Ganas of Lord Shambhu created huge turmoil none could
withstand the powers them. Maharishi Narada informed Lord Mahadeva who was
in deep meditation, could not bear the death of Dhakshayani, in an extreme fury, he
invoked the fierce Veerabadhra from the single strand of matted hair locks. Veerabadhra
proceeded to the palace of Dhaksha, and crushed the Yagashala under his feet,
instilled extreme fear among the people assembled, some of them have lost their
limbs and body parts in the turn of events, and Dhaksha has reaped the fruit of
his arrogance, met the same fate of others. The legend of Daksha Yaga is
popularly known to the world, hence I have described them briefly. Dhakshayani
while leaving the mortal coil, appealed to Lord Sri Ramachandra, to achieve
Ananyabhakthi at the lotus feet of Lord of Lords Mahadeva. Thus, Devi Sati took
birth as Goddess Parvathi to the most fortunate couple Mount Himavan and Devi
Mena. The birth of Jagathjanani Paramba Bhagavathi as the daughter of Mount
Himavan brought an abundance of auspiciousness and welfare to the world, the Earth
flourished with rich natural and mineral wealth, brought immense prosperity to
Mount Himavan. The abode of Mount Himavan became the famous place for the Sages
and Rishis who lived in beautiful hermitage and engaged in extreme Tapasya and
austerities.”
