Chapter – 59– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Eighty Thousand Years of Akhanda Samadhi of Lord Shiva – Dhaksha was elected as chief of Prajapathis

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks, “Devi Sati sincerely appealed to Lord Sri Ramachandra, “Oh! Samadharshi/impartial Lord, kindly help me to get rid of this body of Dhaksha Kanya, and protect me from this unbearable grief of separation from Lord Mahadeva.” The days in solitude spent in the abode of Kailasha were extremely painful for Devi Sati, in this way, eighty thousand years were passed, Lord Shiva who spent all these years in a transcendental state, leaving Devi Sati in utter desolation. Finally, the Supreme Lord got awaken from the deep meditation, reciting Sri Ramanama. Devi Sati listened to the utterance of Ramanama, rushed on her feet to meet Lord Mahadeva, and reverentially prostrated before him and stood before him with folded hands. Lord Shambhu instructed Devi Sati to be seated opposite to him, like any other disciple, and began to describe marvelous legends of Lord Sri Hari. In the meantime, Lord Bhrama designated Dhakshaprajapathi as the most eligible to perform the duties as the chief of Prajapathi made him immensely happy. There is no creature in the whole Universe free from Shadguna/jealousy, pride, ego, anger, lust, and desire, the new status as the chief of Prajapathi got into his head, Dhaksha became so arrogant.”

Chapter – 58– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Devi Sati’s pleas to get rid of the body as Dhaksha Kanya to Lord of Raghu

Lord Mahadeva immersed in deep meditation for several thousands of years and Devi Sati spend all those years in utter desolation in Mount Kailash, no one was known what was happening to her, she was grieving over her mistake committed to pushing the compassionate Lord Shambhu in utter grief, she felt days were like Yugas, sunk in deep sorrow. The wound in her heart remained all-new, without knowing how could she get over from the unfathomable ocean of grief. The repeated thoughts made her more susceptible “I have misbehaved to my Lord, I did not trust him and suspected the Sacchidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam incarnated as Lord Rama to save the Earth, I have reaped the fruits of my sins, hence I deserved to be isolated. Oh! Lord of Raghu, is not that unfair for me to live after separated from that compassionate Lord Shambhu. I do not deserve to live without my Lord Shambhu, kindly save me from this miserable life.” The grief of Devi Sati was beyond description, she contemplated upon Lord Sri Rama and prayed with folded hands “Oh! Prabho, Lord of Raghu, the Veda, and the scriptures eulogize you as Dheenadhayala, Bhakthavathsala,/Lord of distressed Jeeva, you are the remover of grief and sufferings of worldly existence. Oh! Prabho, kindly shower your compassionate grace upon me, so that I can get rid of this body, with which I have forced to commit a grave sin. If I have true devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Shankara by word, mind, and deeds, kindly protect me from the unbearable grief and get rid of this body.”

Chapter – 57– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Devi Sati’s grief & Lord Mahadeva’s Tapasya

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Devi Sati understood that the compassionate Lord Shambhu have understood all that happened in the forest, she felt terribly remorseful for hiding the truth from Lord Shiva, and regretted being mischievous, accepted that the women are flickering and ignorant by nature. Generally, the trust and love shared with the married couple is like the milk added with the water in it, can be separated although it’s not visible, but definitely, it would spoil the real taste of the milk. Devi Sati become inconsolable thinking of her grave sin committed on Lord Shambhu, and her grief was beyond description. Devi Sati remembered the kindness of the supreme Lord Mahadeva who is the ocean of mercy did not utter a single world or criticized openly or hurt her for the mistake committed. Devi Sati could sense that Lord Mahadeva has abandoned her heartily as his consort, that put her in a deep sense of grief. The excessive guilt and shame did not let her speak or argue with him, all that agonies mounted in heart resembled blazing fire torn apart her peace. Lord Shiva could make out the unbearable grief of Devi Sati, he sincerely wanted to alleviate her sorrow and get rid of the mounting grief, and divert her mind from constant anxiousness, hence he began to narrate beautiful stories from various scriptures so that it could wave off her grief. Thus, the couple reached Mount Kailash, Lord Mahadeva remembered his vow, took a seat on Padmasana posture under the Banyan tree, contemplating upon the supreme Bhramam immersed in a transcendental state for several years.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Lord Shambhu was extremely distraught to discard Devi Sati who is virtuous and highly devoted female companion, he thought it would be against the morality to continue to love her as a consort, Lord Shiva couldn’t utter a word in grief, he was sunk in deep distress “Devi Sati is too chaste to abandon, but it is unwise to love her as my consort anymore.” He contemplated upon Lord Sri Ramachandra, soon the very idea to discard Devi Sati became firm, as long as she continued to be the daughter of Daksha. Thus, Lord Shiva along with Devi Sati proceeded to the silver mountain Kailash, all his way, he was stern and soaked in the remembrance of Lord of Raghu. Soon, the divine voice reverberated in the sky “Hail supreme Lord Mahadeva! Victory to the Lord of Lords who reinstated righteousness and protected the movement of Devotion! Undoubtedly you are a staunch devotee of Lord Sri Ramachandra, and none can take a vow as the mighty Lord Mahadeva.” Devi Sati was stunned to listen to the heavenly voice, she addressed to Lord in an unsure voice “Oh! Prabho, kindly tell me about your vow, I would like to hear from you. Oh! Kripalu, you are too kind and compassionate to Jeeva, you are eternal truth, hence kindly enlighten me with the vow you have observed.” In this way, Devi Sati urged Lord Shiva to reveal the truth, but the most compassionate Lord Tripurari did not utter a word about it, thus he protected Devi Sati from further grief.”

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Thus, Devi Sati returned to Lord Mahesha, Lord welcomed her with a beautiful smile and enquired gracefully “Well, have you finished the test on supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra? Are you satisfied with the test? Kindly tell me the truth, how did you test that supreme Bhramam Lord Sri Hari personified as Lord Sri Rama?” Devi Sati who was already puzzled to realize the truth of Rama, made a futile attempt to hide them from Lord Mahadeva and, replied abruptly “Oh! Prabho, I did not test Rama, I have prostrated before him as you have done before him, I am thoroughly convinced about your description about Ram who is supreme Bhramam incarnated as the son of King Dhasharatha to reinstate the Dharma, hence I have no qualms.” Lord Shankara immersed in meditation, and he could envision what was really happened between Rama and Devi Sati. Lord Mahadeva offered salutation to the unconquerable Maya of that supreme which compelled Devi Sati to hide the truth from him, Lord Shambhu remembered whatever destined to happen will definitely happen at the will of supreme Lord Hari, he felt terribly disappointed at the ignorance of Devi Sati who assumed the form of Devi Sita and appeared before Lord Rama. The supreme Lord Shambhu immediately took a vow “It would be a grave sin if I continued to love Devi Sati who assumed the form of Devi Sita, it would destroy the ethics, and would become a stain on the cult of devotion, hence I shall abandon Devi Sati as my consort right away.”
